Dont know if this has been reported or not but i decide to use manual to shift (when i first got the game i was trying to set it to that but it wouldn't let me because of the assigning buttons bug) and when i either shift up or down it would double shift. Like for example im about to downshift to 2nd but it goes straight to1st. Im only pressing the button once. Anyone else have this problem? I hope im not confusing you guys. Im a controller user btw. Also this barley happens.

Happens to me quite often (Also a controller user) when downshifting, but seems totally random when upshifting. Much less than it used to. Patch 1 an 2 had it happen 2-3 times a race During my Formula B career i was getting on with at the time. But since the last couple patches it happens much less, 1-2 times a night, maybe?
Couple more patches an it might be every couple days!![]()
I don't know if this is a bug or poorly programmed Ai, on the two layouts of Mojave with the banking sections, cars that get above the single file train line will slow down on the banking and eventually just stop on the track. It's as if the Ai don't realize that the whole surface is the track.
Just had my second crash in 2 days, both since downloading the new DLC, both while either driving a DLC car or on a DLC track. This time in the awesome Aston DBR1-2, round the Glen.![]()
I had the same thing with my wheel. Wouldn't recognize it after reconnecting so had to restart the PS4 instead. Was a bad crash. Still haven't gone back to career the find all these other bugs myself, but I'm sure I'll get a few when I do.I don't think it's a problem specific to the DLC. I've had 3 crashes recently, 2 in the last 2 days, all since 4.0 update, and all while driving Formula A in career on different tracks. I actually tested out a lot of cars on the test track, including the latest DLC cars, and didn't have a single issue. I reckon it's just coincidence you've had crashes during the use of the DLC items, and I believe these crashes can happen with any car on any track. It's a massive problem they really need to fix asap, as I imagine a lot of people will just shelve the game or give up entirely due to the crashes.
My last crash was massive. As I said it was during a FA career race, it was at Monza. The game froze, and made an alarming screechy type noise through the speakers, and then crashed, with the usual wheel turning to one side thing. When it got to the home screen with the error report, I noticed the pop up saying my keyboard was disconnected kept coming up repeatedly. I did the report, and unplugged the keyboard and plugged it back in. Right away it was disconnecting and reconnecting constantly again. I reset the PS4, and it was still doing it.
Tested the keyboard in my laptop and it works perfectly. Tested other things in the PS4's USB ports, including the DS4 and an external HDD, and they work fine with no disconnecting, so I was at a loss as to why the crash suddenly made the keyboard not work.
Tried plugging it in again 5 mins later, and it works fine... wtf lol. Turned the game back on and completed the whole 54 lap race without a single problem. Oh, actually there was one problem. A pit bug I had in an earlier FA race (Silverstone) where it started raining, and I pitted for inters, and the game gave me full wets. I tried multiple times and couldn't get inters. I'd just get full wets whether I chose inter or wet. So it started raining at Monza, and thinking this bug may be car specific and not track specific, I went for 5 laps in the rain on slicks, 2 laps more than the AI, to stretch it as far as I could, just to avoid putting wets on on a damp track. I selected inters when I pitted, checked telemetry HUD while exiting the lane, and sure enough, I had wets. Oh well, the rain was heavy, and I ran as long as I could on slicks in the rain, so I managed to get the switch over point as close as I was ever going to, and the wets held up fine.
Wow, sorry for the novel guys![]()

I think it's really mostly the framerate that's the killer. Pushing those 60fps is a struggle for this gen, even the new Rainbow 6 can only handle 60fps in certain modes, and with no AI. Wish they'd stuck a bit more grunt in the new consoles.Crashes that bad make me paranoid. Mostly because of what GT6 did to my PS3. It started with just more pop up than usual when playing online, and continued to get worse, 'till big buildings, barriers, even track surface, were all randomly popping up right in front of me while racing. Not all of the time, just seemingly at random.
I used to get big crashes in GT6 when this kind of stuff was happening, but with the PS3, it wouldn't go back to the XMB, it'd just lock up the whole system, requiring turning off at the power point to turn it off. It got to the point where at times, the road and trackside objects would stop loading half way through a race, and I'd be driving on air, with nothing on screen but my car and the background image, and then it'd crash.
It got to the point where just entering a race would make the system freeze up and crash, and then eventually the PS3 wouldn't even launch the game without crashing.
Now, my PS3 was 6 years old, and had a good run. I'd also had to replace the bluray drive in it before these problems started, as GTA online put so much stress on the laser, constantly reading the disc, it burned out. But, GT6 was simply too much for the system, and the system had had a long life, and died.
My PS4 on the other hand is only a matter of months old, so where I didn't care too much when my PS3 finally died, I would be pissed if the PS4 was being damaged from all this crashing. None of my other games have crashed, and the system doesn't seem to break a sweat with any of them. Pcars just seems poorly optimised for the system. There's no way it's getting the most out of it, and there's no way at all that Pcars is the maximum of what the PS4 is capable of. SMS need to get the game optimised for each system it's on, and I think the lack of console testing prior to the launch is what's caused these problems on the two consoles.
Yeah having bought the Xbone and PS4 i think it's safe to say i am very underwhelmed with my purchases which i never felt with PS1, PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3 those at the time felt powerful machines while Xbone/PS4 feel very low powered and i'd be more than happy with new machines as soon as possible.I think it's really mostly the framerate that's the killer. The issues that you were having with PS3 and GT6 are similar to @ALB123 had, and it was the disc that causing the crash, freeze and graphic corruption. Some PS3 have bad Bluray lenses, mine have been running GTAV 5 for over 200 hours, MGS V 150+hours, Fallout 3 GOTY 200+ hours, GT6 could be 600+hours, and I still have so many games that have been completed ( more than 20 ) that often played by my brother and the lens is still original one. I always kept all my disc in pristine condition, no dust or scratches, all my BR discs are as new![]()
Thats a keeper 👍👍👍 rain in the tunnel 👍👍👍Do SMS actually test anything before putting it out?

So what your saying is devs these days are extremely incompetent, I remember waaaaaaaaaaaaay back on Xbox PGR2 ran flawlessly online i also dont remember 1000 bugs hampering our enjoyment either.Hardly ever had any problems with GT6, it always ran very stable on my PS3. Didn't have many issues online either.
Facepalm.Do SMS actually test anything before putting it out?

No, I'm not saying that. I was just replying to @Mike_grpA who mentioned that he had a ton of problems with GT6.
Anyway, back on topic; I got a new bug today!
BMW M3 GT - No tuning.
Brands Hatch GP Circuit.
Free Practice.
Fanatec GT2 & G25 Pedals
BUG: Every now & then the revs would go up & then back down, or sometimes go up & stay up. Mostly happened after I shifted. Usually when you shift up, the revs go down & then start rising, but with this bug they went up immediately & hit the limiter. Sometimes they stayed there, & sometimes they fell back down again.
:confused.
That's a weird one indeed, haven't heard of that one yet. You sure it isn't your pedals playing up? I've had potentiometers play up like that in my old Logi pedals. Just a thought, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a new and exciting bug in the game lol![]()
Was just thinking the exact same thing. My brake pedals was spiking years ago, so I swapped it out with the clutch. Maybe the clutch is spiking & that's what's causing the revs to rise. I'll try it again, maybe resterting the game will solve it, if not I'll set a massive deadzone for the clutch & see if that sorts it out.
