I'm new to Pcars on PS4 and im using my brand new G29. Am I the only one who feels like if I'm driving a tank? i have to rotate the steering more than 90 degrees to feel the front end turning, specially car with mid to low aero.
the karts were fine though but not the BMW 320.
I tried the ffb settings made by jake spades but this never solved the problem it feels like i have a train hooked to my front bonnet.
Try out a Formula open wheeler, doesn't matter if you can't drive it well but you can at least test the steering. They should respond pretty instantly and feel much lighter than some other cars. Or an LMP. It's probably just a tuning thing as Penso says.

On a side note, I'd also recommend going to the wheel settings and make sure the steering dead zone is set to zero for future endeavours.

Do you play with a wheel? Some of us have experienced the phantom button press glitch, usually the share button for me. Could just be that.

Yep, T300RS. There's seriously a phantom button press glitch?! This is like GT6 all over again, half assed game releases with missing or removed content advertised before launch and loads of bugs that should have been squashed already.

The first time it happened was no big deal, the second time I was racing online with my friend and he thought I dive bombed him and took him out. It paused the game on me right before the braking zone for the last corner at Bathurst. Both our formula rookie cars exploded.

Don't worry too much, it's quite rare. As is the phantom landmine/invisible wall glitch that @svenvangent gets. We take the rough with the smooth round here lol

I followed a car the other night that hit an invisible brick in the middle of the road and bumped off the ground a little bit. I feared the worst when I hit that section of track but luckily I was safe. Keeps you on your toes at least!

The Phantom button press happend to me yesterday while i was racing a endurance championship racing(two hours), at Le Mans luckly it was only the qualify when the PS button was magically pressed. My car hitted the wall hard.
I've had the home button press too. Not fun at high speeds :boggled:

So it maybe a placebo affect .. but I had some random presses (arrows, ps button, etc) pretty rare but enough that I noticed. The few things I was told to do were - power off the wheel completely, remove the rim then put it back on, tighten it down.

Put the wheel power on its own power plug or a power strip that is only shared with low power devices (phone chargers, controller chargers, etc)

Put the wheel in its own usb port on the ps4 - not through the hub. Put other items on the hub like keyboard, controller charge cables, etc.

It has been greatly reduced for me to the point I was not noticing it through the last week I played every day before I took a break.

I totally agree that the wheel power is a bit odd. I recall moaning in the summer that every time I turned my desk fan on the wheel would disconnect. Crazy times! I'll remove and tweak my rim (hur hur) just in case.

There are also some screws that can be tightened down (hex) on the rim. Mine were loose.

Again.. no idea if any of this actually helps or just a placebo. :dopey:

I don't have any USB Hub, i use only the wheel and the USb device to the headset. And the power plug i normally use it all alone or with just a fan in the same plug with the wheel.

Maybe it's a software problem, it oly happend to me with the PCars, i used to play A LOT of DriveClub and it never happend to me. PLayed some of the The Crew Demo and none of it at all, and played GT6 for some hours and nothing too.

But it only happend to me with Pcars 2-3 times... so its pretty rare, but oh gosh, i feel totally lost when it happen. I look to wheel, re-thing my moves and try to remenber if i push the freaking button, than i got goosebumps, maybe some poltergeist is playing games with me!!:eek::eek::eek:

I remember reading T300 owners complaining of random button presses ages ago, and saying ti also does it in Driveclub, so it might be an issue with the firmware of the wheel. Try updating it if you haven't already. I've never had a random button press, and afaik it was only affecting T300 users, and not limited to Pcars.

I wasn't talking about ffb issues, only the button presses. I know that people were reporting it with other games too, and I haven't seen anyone but T300 owners reporting it, so I wouldn't rule out the wheel if I were you.

I also get the ffb missing bug sometimes when I start my first session after turning the game on. It would be a pain for people who have to disconnect and reconnect their wheels, but mine has a little power switch on the base, so I just switch it off and on and it works. That workaround works every time, and the issue never comes back while the game is on, it only appears from time to time when I've first started the game.

Ran into another bug last night. Was running GT4 at Brands Hatch with me in the Team Project Cars M3 and I restarted the race due to a crash and the game just froze. The cars wouldn't move, I couldn't rev my engine and the start countdown wouldn't appear. I could move the camera, change camera and turn on headlights as well as cycle the HUD but that was all until I restarted the race.

I got one too:

LMP3 US Rookie Cup @ Road America (round 4)
PS4 / PCars disc version / Fanatec CSW V2 base - V3 pedals.

Qualified on pole (AI 85%)
When continuing to Race 1 I got a screen filled with grass, followed by a white screen with some shades on the upper side, then a very short black screen. After that I got the result board showing that I won the race !

Continued to Race 2: started on pole, but the HUD showed position 20/20 (some 46" behind) all the time, even after a few laps.
Restarted the race and all was back to normal.

Final result: I won both races, but only did one...

Z4 GT3 sound bug

Only seen this once before. It was with a GTR2 mod and both times interior sound was fine but exterior wasn't. No acceleration sound but deceleration sound is fine

i'm getting really tired of restarting a practice or qualifying because i cant leave the pit box, or restarting a race because in the pre race menu the fuel adjustment goes like 1 litre= 1 lap...sometimes.

In 2 hours' play tonight I suffered:

1. Loss of engine deceleration noise
2. Loss of engine acceleration noise
3. Grid camera spawned underneath track (they said they'd fixed that one in patch 5.0!)
4. Two occasions of FFB increasing to extreme levels, felt like the white line glitch but line was still yellow. Restart race fixed it.

On the plus side those 2 hours were spent tuning the Radical SR8 for the first time and I really like it. It's damn quick and real nice to drive (but not the stock setup which maxes out way too early and is tail-happy). Had a lot of fun even with bugs as usual.

I did exactly the same thing yesterday, after getting smoked by AI @ Imola.
Only bug I encountered was the loss of FFB (pausing the game and turning wheel off and on solved it).
The Radical is better now, but the fastest AI still easily outbrake me.

Classic bugs for all!

I was only running at 77% (mostly round Road America) and it was destroying the AI. Was mostly a comparison test with the Caterham SP300 which I've driven a lot. Turns out the Radical is a couple of seconds a lap quicker, but probably not quite as grippy. Plus the engine sounds better.

I've had a few occasions where my car has driven itself for about 2 seconds, and it has cost me races in the past. Not to mention another time where the analogue stick didn't react instantly, so I went into a wall.

pCARS is a journey into a land of chaos and confusion. I only go there very rarely

I much prefer the stable and harmonious land of Forza 6 :)
