I get this if I've been driving a DLC car before turning the console off (I asked this same question a few weeks ago). Try using a non-DLC car, quit game, then see if the LMP is still there after rebooting. A strange glitch is all.

Bingooooo Bleeder spot on , using a DLC car brings Mister LMP 1 in the picture .
Bach .... not big off a issue I know .
Thanks for clarifying Bleeder .

For some random reason, every time I do an all RUF GT3 race at Circuit Bugatti the game crashes midway through. Other than this I have encountered no substantial glitch in the PS4 edition.

PS4

Had Yesterday a crash to the main screen menu .
Took one off the Mercedes out off the garage to drive it on Le Mans , 4 lap bang crash main screen .

Frustrating glitch I just uncovered now. If you lap anybody in a race like I did (12th and 11th lapped) and then you cross the line and continue straight after the race the car in 11th is awarded 2nd and the car in 12th is awarded with 3rd.

I've just been disqualified for failing to take a jump start penalty which is usually reasonable, the problem is that I was racing on Mojave and there is no pitlane to take a drive-through.
That's more of an error than a glitch

yes, from day 1

In an event I assume the temperature displayed in the top right is the track surface temperature? If it isn't then it is well out, but even if it is. I have a ahrd time believing that the Brands Hatch tarmac ever reaches 31ºc in the first week of January at 10am.

I also tried 5am in heavy fog on 21st December (the shortest day of the year) track temp 16ºc. I am positive that is totally unrealistic.

Any thoughts? Experience? Definitive Knowledge?

Detailed info like this might also depend on PC or console play. Doesn't the PC version link to real time weather etc? If you're on PS4 it's probably totally made up. Be good to hear feedback from both camps.

While I was doing some more searching just now I found a post on the PCars forum about update v3 in which it stated that track temps were now unified across the XBox, PS4 and PC.

I'm on PC, but I had set the weather, in this instance, to fixed "Light Cloud" . However last time I played (v5) I had set it to real weather. It was a foggy 9am and the real temperature where I live (roughly 45 miles straight from Brands) was 15ºc (I live on the coast & the temperature is moderated by the sea. At Brands, which is inland in the countryside the real ambient temps were 11ºc). That time I wanted to see if the real weather worked. I checked that it was actually foggy at Brands also.

The game did in fact provide fog for the real time, real weather setting, but the track temperature on that occasion was 28ºC despite the real ambient temperatures for Brands being around 11ºC at the time. I doubt a foggy 11ºc morning would produce a 28ºC track temp.

I was testing it again because the adjusted tyre temperature algorithmns must also be affected by the much too high track temperatures?

So basically if SMS have the track temperatures messed up, ie too high, that's going to directly affect the tires under the new model. That would indeed cause unnecessary heating. Official response required!

A quick update on some niggles still in the game (for me):

1. Sometimes 1st gear is shown on the display when the car is in neutral. Upshifting actually puts the car in 1st but obviously the display stays the same as it showed 1st anyway.

2. Still getting loss of engine audio, not restricted to any one car

3. Still getting random extreme FFB, no white line but yellow line going crazy, random cars

4. Sometimes your jack guy doesn't let you out of your pit garage unless you select 'return to pits' then 'drive' and only then will he let you go.

5. Game wheel doesn't always revert to centre upon restarting race. Is usually wonky and the player has to straighten it.

Everything else is fine, these things seem like minor fixes to me, but what do I know? At least I haven't hit a landmine for a while 👍

My wheel is jerking to the left before the race, on occasion like it did before some of the updates. Another player in the party had the exact same experience at the same time.

I've only ever had that when restarting a race, never from the off. That's irritating.

On Cadwell Park Full you can only have 11 opponents but on shorter versions you can have more?!?!?!

Started a free Practice session on Cadwell Club with the Scion and the game straight away planted me on the track and I could not accelerate. EDIT: Does not matter which vehicle you use. It's the same result every time.

PS4 ........

After patch 6.0 .....

When it came out I had one main screen crash and one landmine so I said ... funk it ..... I don't play any more , but the need to do some laps today was bigger than my self so I throw all my principle out off windows and started the game .

Car : Mercedes CLK
Track : Le Mans
Weather : clear
Progress time : 60 *
Day/time : 20 November 11 AM

Issue 1 : right front wheel .....
Issue 2 : starting to do the second practice lap .

And there will someone on PS4 who will say never have this issue, all are fine and dandy. Must be the software magic  or just awesome luck, 1 out of thousands ?

On PC I ended up rebooting the machine 3 times after consistent bugs starting the game. It was fine yesterday, but today? Read on...

Wheel rotating & locking full left -> could not adjust setup as values were constantly changing.
recalibrated & try again - blank screen high CPU usage
Restart game, buttons on wheel not recognised for a minute or so. Then starting free practice, same wheel issue as above (I've never had the wheel do this before by the way)

Then after restart blank screen again.

It took 6 game restarts & three reboots for it to work as normal - nothing has changed on my machine since yesterday when it was working OK.

It has been OK since, although I am just hot lapping various cars to reset the FFB as I deleted my profile recently.

yes, i have all of them constantly. No other bugs now in the game, just this you've listed. 3,4,5 i have everytime i play. always.

The only bugs I've had with the CSR are 1: The random "spiky" FFB where all of a sudden it feels like the wheel is full of rocks, but that seems to affect all wheels, and a simple session restart seems to fix that. And, 2: The missing FFB bug where on a rare occasion when you go to track in a new session you'll have no FFB, only rumble. Pausing, and then turning off and on the wheel, fixes this one for me.

However, I have had a number of small bugs since the latest patch, mostly affecting the historic tracks it seems.

1: Camera glitching under the track before the start of a race, and when this happens, it usually leads to...

2: Cars sit on grid at race start without the race actually starting, needing a session restart to fix.

3: Engine audio disappearing. When this happens, it seems to be like that for all cars in all sessions until I quit the game and restart it.

4: Not a bug really, but the AI are hilariously bad at driving the classic Lotuses (Yes that is a legit plural). At Hockenheim in the 49C on 100% AI, I qualified on pole by almost 8 seconds without even hooking up a great lap. I restarted and skipped qualifying and started from the back, and they had a massive pile up in the first corner, which I avoided, and I ended up 15th (from 35th on the grid!) after the first turn.

I ended up giving them a 20 second head start, which reminded me of playing GT6 lol. Even with the head start, I had caught up to the back of the pack by halfway 'round the first lap. The reason is they are hopeless at putting the 49C's power down on corner exit, usually wagging the tail around wildly, and they seem terrified of the chicanes at Hockenheim, so they go extremely slowly through them.

Ostkurve is so much fun in the 49C, as you have to fight the urge to brake early, you can brake quite late and bang it back a couple of gears, wipe off a minimum amount of speed and then squeeze it through the chicane, kissing the kerbs on the way through, which is great fun if there are no AI drivers ahead of you going into it. If there is, they slow down way earlier than necessary, giving themselves about twice the braking distance the player can comfortably manage, and then they seem to granny it through the chicane and still lose the rear end on exit lol.

They were so bad at old Hockenheim, that the best music for that race would have been the Benny Hill theme.

On the upside, I have only had one crash since 5.0 came out, so my regular crashes don't happen anymore, but I'm getting smaller bugs now.
