Cars used by AI in Custom Race need to be randomized. It's weird seeing the M6 GT3 at the front always when racing against GT3 cars.

That's my own subjective opinion, I cannot speak for everyone else. And I've been of this opinion for years now; it's the main reason why I didn't care much for GT5 and GT6. But there are some reviewers that seem to agree with me. Gamereactor for instance praised the removal of the classic career mode. They thought that the new approach made GTS the best game in the series since the early Playstation era.

I guess and I beleive most of us have misguided or forgotten, GT Sport was never intended nor set out to be the replacement/new (normal) Granturismo but an entirely new concept. Hence the "sport" and placing it in the spotlight as an e-sport platform for motor racing.

Now my biggest gripe is why couldn't a general Granturismo 7 be made, including the typical GT career mode, parts upgrading and buying etc, and just incorporate the "sport mode" within the game. Such as arcade mode has always sat alonside the GT mode?

Although as I pondered, this could be due to Polyphony Digital potentially having financial difficulties, hence the short track list and car list etc, with unpolished tracks (some have brought up). GT Sport could have been a sales/marketing tatic to push something out into the market to capitalise somewhat within the PS4 era. As a new Granturismo IP and reapthe rewards from the typical Granturismo hype.

As a friend said to me, "GT Sport is basically a prologue."

They built Gran Turismo from the ground up again, without using pre-existing assets. That takes an enormous amount of time and resources.

And I don't think it's fair to call it a prologue as it's not part of the old series, and it has been made clear that it's a game that is intended to stand on its own with continuous support and updates.

This car. I understand that it is in a category by itself, but is there a point in having a car that can take sharp turns in excess of 250+ mph in a game like GT?

Realism, yo.

It's not a prologue in the sense that it's probably the only Gran Turismo game we'll get this generation.
It's very much a prologue in the sense of how much content and features are provided.

Calling it a prologue is technically inaccurate, but I can certainly see where people are coming from. It's by far the smallest non-prologue game.

We all get why people refer to it as a prologue, but much like the vacuum cleaner jokes of old, the prologue dig is already getting old.

160 cars/17 tracks - we know that, but there is so much more to the game besides that. There are things that GTS does that could very well make other racing game developers green with envy.

Fact is though, those numbers are far closer to GT5 Prologue than they are to GT5 or GT6, hence why it's a natural comparison for some people.

Look pretty? That's about all I can think of. Apart from graphics (and in that I include Scapes) I don't think there's anything that isn't done better by at least one other racing game.

Dude... They updated the mileage shop thing and all they did was put new paint... no new sponsors or cars or anything.... WHY

Er, everything except the cars were updated.

Admittedly, the decals are barely different from what's come before.

I Know you guys making money from Gran Turismo Franchise.
But i'm completely tired from seeing the 'admin' guys defending the Gran Turismo Sport.
Stop being a lawyer, or just contact with PDigital and be a lawyer of them.

Cynical much? @SlipZtrEm is one of the most objective people here when it comes to Gran Turismo.

I posted a correction about the Mileage Exchange. If you have a problem with the truth, then I don't really know what to tell you.

GT Sport has been a vast step in the right direction reflecting on their lattest let downs. For what it is and aimed at GT Sport does an extremely good job. Its just not for me

Read above, I've highlighted.

  1. GT Sport was never meant to be part of the Granturismo series, but a new Granturismo spin-off IP.
  2. No one said GT Sport was a prologue, but basically was. Meaning "similar" in comparison by content.

You're right, but if I remember correctly, many journalists praised GT5 prologue for how much content it had and gave it scores very similar, if not better than the competition. Even mentioning how GT5P had more cars than a lot of mainstream racers of the time. Meaning the content/feature level was more than just a demo. Then factor in that GT Sport has over 2x the cars and just under 3x the tracks, and loads more stuff to do, and the prologue comparison isn't really a comparison - it's more so a dig for giggles. I mean, I do get it though.

You can say that for any of these games though, no? It excels in one category, but falls short in another.

I think you are dramatically under estimating how important the career mode and huge car list was to some people and, consequently, how small the game feels without them. When endurance races were full length and the car list more varied, the career mode represented dozens and dozens of hours of fun for those that enjoyed it. And that's through choosing only a single route. There was endless replayability for those that liked to vary their car brands and take different approaches to upgrading.

heck yeah

In seriousness, I at least believe that the SRT Tomahawk fits a small niche of extreme driving that not even an F1 car can provide, and with the "new" X version being less stable than its GT6 counterpart, it's a hell of a challenge.

But this begs the question: why not have an F1 car or a spinoff of some sort included in GTS?

No need to be rude, the admin was simply correcting me.

Only Kaz can answer that question. Given there are no cars that are entirely fictional outside of the VGT's, it was pretty obviously a design choice to not go this route at launch. Perhaps they are working on adding some real open wheelers at a later date.

Is Polyphony Digital adding Standard car features again? Lets hope not. But two cars were found in the Racing Title with no Interior cockpit view. Polyphony Digital need to address this ASAP!

THIS IS A NATIONAL EMERGENY, DECLARE DEFCON 1 MODE IMMEDIATELY!

All jokes aside however, it’s only two VGT cars.

I feel like some of the cars have been left out on purpose for a couple reasons. 1) The community would dig them all the time about not having DLC for GT5/6. They more they leave out the more they have for DLC later. 2) It takes time to develop/model/render these cars. I don't know the polycount for these but I assume it is not as trivial as a "standard" used to be. I would think, and maybe that's my mistake, that if they delayed again to puff the car list...well you know where I'm going with that. Agree on career mode though, I do wish that was longer. Maybe they'll add to that too? Mission challenges currently only go to Intermediate....

TLDR, hoping that the garage and other features are expanded in the years to come as they gain licenses and add new series. Would love for Super GT to make a quick come back; not going to hold my breath for open wheeled something but I can dream. :)

So you’re telling me that a car that is PS4 quality almost all the way around, yet has no interior, is a standard car?

right ok
