Man I'm so angry! I can't play this game and now I remember one of the main reasons I gave up the older titles.

No manual pedal calibration!

I like this game so much but I can't play it because of that one missing feature.

I have always used Logitech pedals and over time the pots in Logitech pedals don't function like they did when they were new. This isn't a problem in any other game I play because you can calibrate the pedal but GT Sport has the insane idea of auto calibration with no deadzones and as a result I get to watch my brake dragging randomly as I drive so I am always losing valuable time. It has even caused loss in SR in races as I unintentionally brake check cars behind me while going down a straight.

I don't know what to do anymore. It's got to the point where it is unplayable, I just got so angry playing it I felt destructive. I'm here saying the game is great because it mostly is but this one issue is completely wrecking my experience.

Some who use the T3PA pedals with the braking resistance cone raised this issue at the demo stage three weeks ago on the PSN forum and a representative has brought it to PD's attention. The only way to temporarily get round it is to use something solid at the end of your pedal travel to avoid the system constantly re-calibrating itself. I replaced the rubber cone with a bolt and some foam which is better, but by far the biggest issue isthe brakes when the the brake meter indicates less than say 50%, because they are absolutely dire. All incorporated no doubt to make it easier to transition from heavy braking to cornering for newcomers.

Although I have to say, the effect works well from heavy braking, but I'd far rather trade that for better control at lower speeds; specifically, I and possibly many others who haven't mentioned it, find that there is virtually no feedback at all when braking gently, with the result that if you leave little margin for error on the way in to a corner and you are expecting the brakes to grab, they don't with the result that you drift wide with understeer, or if you are more cautious, you end up slowing the car down more than is ideal.

Did you buy it with a credit card? Mine has a policy of price matching anything that goes on special after I have purchased it using the credit card. I'm not sure how that would effect a value add deal like the one you mentioned.
Where i'm from, goods sold are not refundable and not exchangeable unless a fault is proven, every sale is final. We have weak consumer rights laws/welfare here. Besides, it's been a couple of months. Shall wait for the year end bonus then. heh.

I really like the game, and have been playing it more than I ever thought I would, especially the online Sport mode with the fixed races.

Seems that wall bouncing and scraping edges does absolutely nothing to stop you getting around. I've seen people scream past me in the breaking zone for a tricky corner and overcook it, only to bounce straight back and still be ahead! This needs addressing.

Also, to me the car list is shocking. What have they been working on for all this time? A Ferrari license with 2 cars in it? 458 and La Ferrari. Where is the rest? Some of the 458 variants don't even have modeled rear interior views.

How the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadraifoglio didn't make it into this game is absolutely mind boggling. Too much faffing with stupid concept cars thats what!

BOP is either a total joke or blatant nepotism.

Gr. 4 and Gr. 3 need urgent BOP (balance of performance) re-balancing, I don't know if Polyphony did it to bias things towards Nissan as a means of corporate shilling towards them, but most Sport Mode races feel like single-make races because the top-half is always exclusively a GTR-club in both for the unrealistically OP GTRs in Gr. 4 and Gr. 3, I feel like a lot more needs to be done to get the cars a lot closer together in performance.

If Polyphony wants Sport Mode races to mimic real-world GT4 and GT3 races then they need to make sure that there isn't one car that's clearly OP compared to everything else.

I really question whether or not Polyphony actually ever watches any motorsport or they just base the car performance on whatever they feel like as if it was an arcade game like Ridge Racer or something, and here's why:

If you watched GT3 racing you'd know that the present day version of the GTR GT3 struggles to even finish in the top 10 these days in Blancpain Endurance: a championship they once won. The top cars that are wining the lions share of races are the Lamborghini Huracan, Bentley Continental (which doesn't exist according to Polyphony), Mercedes AMG, BMW M6 and Audi R8. The highest placed GTR in Blancpain Endurance (which is the top GT3 championship IMO) is 23rd in the championship with the current version of the car and an all PRO driver line-up.

In real-world GT4 racing, the likes of BMW, Aston Martin, McLaren and Porsche rule the roost, there is no GTR in GT4 racing, but there is the 370Z, which again, struggles to finish in the top 10.

Yet, in Polyphony's warped interpretation of motorsport, nothing shall dare ever be faster than their holy saint of GT racing: an ANCIENT 5 year old version of the GTR GT3 is apparently so much better than the Huracans, AMGs and R8s in Gr. 3, while in Gr. 4; gone is the 370Z, replaced with another OP GTR, Polyphony may as well have invited all other manufacturers to drop to their knees with their mouths wide open in their shiny and over-indulgent office if this is how they interpret competitive motorsport.

Just a heads up, but a lot of people don't like to experiment with cars and go to youtube and search best cars/setups. I bucked the meta lastnight and got stuck into Gr4 Hurrican. Well well well. Harder to drive? Yes. But with some tuning I qualified with a 1.43.6XX in sport mode and was running with the GTRs easily (I'm on a DS4).

People want to be on the pace straight away and want to let other people do the testing. It's the same in most online games. Search youtube and copy "best gun in class" or "best car in class" and before you know it, everybody is using the same stuff.

I agree 100% with you.
Funny I had a race yesterday and there were 11 GTR and one 458 (mine).I was feeling like I was a pace car driver (or something similar) in a one-make series ....

Besides the dupes, why can't we even sell them for some credits instead of deleting???!!!
exactly! Even for just half the amount, I would be fine with that. At least we get a reward one way or another every time we do the Daily Workout.

Okay this time they didn't add any new decals to the mileage exchange :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: whyyyy? :(

Also they didn't add all the colors they could, they left a spot blank :(

I've got a question about online room (not sport mode). Is it possible to prohibit prepared cars ?

I saw that all the new races in Sport mode have this setting (Setup : fixed) but i didn't see that in the creation of a room...

Do you know if this is possible ?

Not a fan of the daily races changing daily - maybe do a weekday circuit and a weekend circuit, but changing every day gives me little time to actually learn a track.

Don't know, wrong thread for that though, General Discussion maybe.

Got a few problems with GTS.

  1. Rubber banding. Oh my God, they need to tone this feature down. I struggled with the Endurance events because of this. There is no way an AI can run 1:19s on Interlagos when the fastest lap is around 1:22.
  2. Penalty system. Tried to do the Nurb (Mission 8-8) race. Got penalties for hitting the walls (honest errors in judgement). Lost the race despite being in first. Completely unfair to punish a player for making an honest mistake...

That's why you play Project Cars 2.
No thanks, lets actually be productive and try to get some pretty simple features into a game that would only help people. You should just go play GT1 and never move on, if that's your logic.

Except that my best race on PC2 has not been as good as my worst race on GTS.

It isn't a consumer rights thing, it is a Credit Card perk/insurance police, basically a way to get you to use your credit card. But it is a nice perk to have, if I buy something and it goes on sale shortly after, my credit card company will give me the price difference.

One shouldn't need to go to a completely different game to find the basic simulator features that have been standard in the genre for more than a decade. If we don't ask for things we're not going to get them.
No you shouldn't have to.

I hope they fix everything in GT7, if there is GT7 that is.
GT7 would be a dream for many of us, as well as you and I. Sure, GTS is 'okay', but definitely not something I would prefer over a classic GT game, especially if it means abandoning career mode and forcing online saves.

Having played the other game for a long time, I really miss Gran Turismo. :(

I'm still dubious on this one, has anyone been caught out with this online save thing? It's not ideal but people make out they play offline all the time, yet manage to come on GTP. At the very least you could hot-spot your phone and use that to save at the end of a session. Not ideal but I doubt many would have to resort to that.

Maybe I'm wrong but it's always felt like a huge overreaction to me. It is a naff way of fixing the cheating but I think it was probably an FIA requirement due to save modding.

Yes, don't have an exact number for you.

Mine have also had nothing to do with my connection, but rather with PDs servers.

Todays GT3 racing at some kind of fantasy oval track..

.I'll rather race the N and GR4 on proper phantasy road circuit

why fixed setup ? what if my driving style is loose and a bit oversteering type ?

Never had an issue with it, must be lucky :) I can see how playing at or near PD server maintenance can cause frustration though I've seen that on here somewhere.

At least they can use the datas to do a fine adjustment to the BOP level.

They have data from the days of Beta up until now. They have not changed a thing.Example:Gr 4 is all about VW and NISSAN.
They were the fastest car in beta, they are still the fastest cars now.At this point I dont think they even know what BoP is...
