They have data from the days of Beta up until now. They have not changed a thing.Example:Gr 4 is all about VW and NISSAN.
They were the fastest car in beta, they are still the fastest cars now.At this point I dont think they even know what BoP is...
I think the BOP is more refined than the beta. Yesterday on Lago Maggiore II , i have tested with a lot of success, the Viper, Citroen GT , Hyundai , Ferrari, all with the same potential. Just this Sirroco with this impossible top speed :irked: , I think it is better now ., just need a little fine tune.
EDIT: Gr3 on suzuka need more work , still a bit unequal.

I dont know mate.
From my experience VW and Nissan are faster than anything else.It is still the case today. You can do good laps with other cars but the truth is that there are 2 cars that are always faster no matter the track.I dont see any difference in BoP from beta till now.

Hi gents I am on the last one on driving school the whole track in under 1.50 something for gold.
I cannot find a way to do it under 1.58.267 if I reduce TC even to 2 the car slides when accelerating out of bends turning off or down on abs produces awful handling under braking. I brake exactly where it tells me to and turn in to bends exactly where it tells me to and am no where near silver (I haven't got bronze yet):( I have done about 100 laps so I must be doing something wrong has anyone got a set up where they have achieved this so I can try it please. I have stability control off.

Also what is the knack for hitting 100 cones in mission challenge stage 1 number 4 I have 99 down but the 100 never seems to come up after around 200 goes. Help please before I make a trip to the trade in shop.

The 2 chicanes are a place where you can earn a lot of time. Mostly the second one, try to nail it without braking ,just have to modulate your accel input to bring the car on the right line. Put the cones option ON till you memorize well the braking points. The rest is practice.

Drive straight through the middle of the cones. Hit the point of each group head on, straight on and that should do the job.

Thanks I have done this now I did the other on stage 1 easily then entered stage 2 first race Oh dear I have passed my skill level there is no way I can keep up with the AI I am far last every time never mind it was fun getting this far Thanks again.

I know what you mean I think I am to early on the accel button but if I try and be a fraction later I lose so much time.
Thanks for the help appreciated very much.
I have realised I have reached the limit of my skills and need to trade it in. I can't go racing online as I am useless and dead last every time is not much fun I can't even win in arcade mode. Think age has finally caught up with my reactions.
Take Care all and I hope you young uns can go a long way in it.

Justin, you don't have to be good at the game to enjoy it.

I can try to help you with your lines! If you want, send me a PM. I won't be home until late, but I definitely can take a look at the events you're struggling with and see if I can offer advice or show you the lines.

The Sport mode daily races today are really fun to hotlap offline, so I got a good qualifying time for the Gr. 3 and 4 races and decided to go online. The first race I did was the Gr. 4 race and it went well. Everyone I raced with was clean and the racing was competitive. I even managed to get the win with a clean race bonus, and at that point I was actually starting to regain faith that Sport mode races could actually be consistently fun.
Then I did the Gr. 3 race at BB Speedway, knowing that it was a risk doing so, but it went about as I expected. It was a fun demolition derby, where lapped cars were even more unpredictable than the penalty system, so no position was safe until the very end. I managed to get fifth place, and everyone but the top two lost SR. This race is a perfect example of how Sport mode is flawed, lapped cars predict my finishing position and Sportsmanship Rating more than I do, but I knew that going into the race, and adapted my racing style accordingly.
After that, I went to the Gr. 4 race feeling good, because being down one SR grade from the previous race, I knew there was a good chance of it being an easy race for me. It was for the most part, I qualified in second about a tenth off the leader, and us two qualified over a second and a half quicker than anyone else. We both ran away from the field and had a fun, low stress race. After the race finished I was still at a C SR, but my Driver Rating had the bar completely filled for B class, meaning that hopefully with one more good finish, I will get my DR up to A class.
Coming to the last race, Gr. 3, I was feeling confident that I could get a good finish now that Sport mode races seemed to be running much smoother now then when I last raced an extended amount. I started on pole by over three tenths of a second, immediately being able to pull away from the field cleanly to the point of having about a five second lead with no lap traffic in sight. I was on pace to get the pole, win, fastest lap, clean race bonus, and maybe just maybe an A class driver Rating... and then I got disconnected from the server.
After sitting mouth wide open, looking dumbfounded until the red mist went away, I then looked at my Driver and Sportsmanship Rating. After sitting mouth opening and closing to form words that should not be spoken, looking enraged until the black out happened, waking up to discover it was only a dream. Alas, the blackout never happened and I eventually came to the conclusion that all of the DR that was gained today and more was lost through no fault of my own, and there was nothing that I could do about it.
If I were to finish the last race, my faith in Sport mode races would have been fully regained. I couldn't ask for much more than four straight fun races that collectively boost my Driver Rating to an elite level, but from being kicked out of the last race through no fault of my own, the first three races statistically mean almost nothing. From this, I've now lost all hope that Sport mode races in their current form can maintain a balance of fun and progression.

I know I could have done another race in the time it took me to type this, but what it seems I will never know is how to make races consistently play out in a way that makes me want to race them. I would like to get the Platinum trophy for this game, when means continuing to complete Sport mode races though, so I am currently at a crossroads.
I think what I will do from now on is start a race, and then immediately quit the race so that I will not get in anyone's way while still losing DR and SR. Once I get to the point of where I'm on pole by a large amount, I will race normally and while that will make the racing not as fun, at least I can get wins, poles, and races in peace instead of forever being in doubt over whether it will be what I do, or what others do to me that decides my race.
It's sad that in order to win the game, I will purposely have to lose again and again, but I guess in a way that is realistic, this method is used in other things besides racing as well. So I guess as long as I do like the Philadelphia 76ers and "trust the process", it will all work out in the end...
Or PD could just fix Sport mode.

Seriously, I know I didn't drive this perfectly, first 2 were fighting since the start - I probably could've been braking sooner and avoided most of the accident.

That being said, I guarantee I was the one who walked away with the BIGGEST penalty for simply trying to avoid an incident.

All of this is at DR:B and SR:A

This stupid BS with fixed settings in Sport mode is garbage. How do you expect me to get better with my Corvette if I can't use a tune for it? Fixed just allows the same one car domination bs where the Porsche is superior to all in Gr. 3.

Also when the hell are they going to patch interlagos to be more strict? I've seen people go completely off in turn 3 and those two sharp right turns in the last section, with no penalty at all.

How are you sure that everyone else got minor penalties? cause I was the one who were trying to find out "penalty result" at the end of game including replay. but no clues

The penalty system in sport mode is just stupid and broken.

I got a 10-second penalty when I got loose exiting in a corner and somebody T-boned me. I never slowed down I drove the rest of the race normally and the penalty slowly bled away.

A 10-second penalty should mean that your car gets half the horsepower for 10 seconds. As it stands now if you get a penalty early in a race you can just bleed it off normally which is stupid

Man oh man oh MAN DO I HAVE A RANT FOR YOU!

It's bad enough forcing default setups on all the cars so I can't get the full potential of a car, but also matching me with total idiots? Seriously?

On lap 10 I was in 11th, but was making my way towards the cars ahead. At the chicane I made up time and passed a 4C ahead and was moving more up, then after the 90 degree left I caught a mustang and passed it while a viper passed it on the right. Because the last corner is a right hander, the viper couldn't get back up to speed, so I got a good run and could pass easily, except for the fact his dumb a:censored: had to block like a stupid 🤬 🤬 so i bumped his rear, then tried passing on the right, except a Scirocco slowed and caused me to spin out, getting 17th. PD needs to get their heads out their a:censored:es and fix this bs.

I was in that race with the black viper too...he blocked the living daylights outta me too. Thats ok his SR will go down the tubes and we won't have to worry about it anymore.

Omg. I can't believe that replay, so if you play race without hud then replay no have menu and you stuck must restart all game. If you turn hud on while driving then replay works, but if you turn it off again, replay dont work again. What bs is that PD ?? !!

This is more a query than anything - but what is the point of Group X? Looks more like a random collection of fantasy cars with disparate performance that would never race on a track with each other.

The Challenge mode in this game is absolute nonsense and completely goes against the whole ethos of the game; or at least what I thought the ethos was. Professional, clean racing. It's full of 'Start at the back of a grid of much slower opponents and drive like an absolute moron to get into first place over a short amount of time'. The whole thing teaches you to drive like an absolute idiot who kamikazees themselves past packs of cars on every bend and does whatever it takes to get that 1st place. Isn't this supposed to be a primer for clean online racing? *smacks head*. It's just so 'videogamey'.

You can get through cleanly. Driver skill is a crucial part of this - especially with the McLaren event at the later end of the challenges.

The player is putting themselves at a huge disadvantage by trying to drive clean/perform sensible overtakes. Plus, there's often no incentive whatsoever for driving clean. A lot of them there isn't even a penalty for hitting other cars. Why am I even racing against much slower opponents anyway? Not only is it annoying but it's not good prep for racing real opponents. 'Start at the back and get first' is rubbish game design in racers, always has been.

I beg to differ. As an example, below is my run with the McLaren VGT at Kyoto. I didn't hit a single car and still won.

'Start at the back and get first'
I've done this online, cleanly. What it comes down to is being able to understand the situation around you in the race. Exploiting opponent lines and finding attack zones to try and overtake in, etc. In a way, it prepares you for dealing with slower cars.

I'm not saying you can't win by driving clean, at all. I'm saying you're imposing the restriction of driving clean on yourself and putting yourself at a disadvantage, It promotes bad driving.

The example you posted has spaced out, slow moving opponents. Hardly difficult to race clean there. There are however lots of events where the track's much narrower and the AI are bunched up in packs. You can sit behind them and wait for a good time, or you can just dive up the inside and lean on them for an easy gold. Just like every other single player race in every other racing game.

That was my third attempt at the event. The first two, I made contact with cars and had 5-10 second penalties leveraged against me. So I doubt it promotes bad driving...

How you play the game is up to you but when I did those I would restart if I had contact because I wanted to achieve Gold with clean driving. It is actually easy to get Gold while driving clean, I'm not an Alien usually 1-3 seconds off the leaderboards in Sport mode so if I can do it I think it is fair to say it is easy.

I'd argue and say it is good prep but not perfect. The AI drives pretty bad, if you try to drive clean it teaches you to be more aware of others on the track and different levels of skill and not drive as if everyone is on the same level as you. Unfortunately because of the lack of penalties, often yes it does unfortunately allow a certain level of dirty driving and people are bringing that into Sport mode.
