The moderators do just fine without your backseat driving.

Ahhh thats hilarious, good pun! Because we are on a GT forum, get it haha which is all about the driving simulator and backseat dr- never mind, I'll leave...

Honestly though, went on an online lobby, the starting grid as everyone revved their engines, dear lord, as if someone left a Dyson and a Hoover for some alone time in a room with a bottle of wine. These sounds are horrid. NFS Most Wanted (the first one!!!) had better sounds than this. I have many other whines and cries but I need to reiterate again.

How hard is it to just record a sound sample of a car under load, the idle, the revs, the downshifts and upshifts, the sound of it on the track, the echos. With about maybe 3 different angles and such, it might take em about 1 hour a car on a good day. Then take that sample, clean up the sample a little bit and put it into the game and you're done. Nope, nope, PD had to take that sound sample, bring in Daft Punk and turn their engine samples into the soundtrack for Tron Legacy...

Sound engine is hinted at maybe being included, well I'll whine and cry about it until it is included. I think PD just looked at this whole thread and was like "Forza fans...", well, if you don't fix the problems in due time then you might be right on that one.

What I will never understand is why so many people are defending this game. There is less differences between GT5 and GT6 than COD BO and BO2, BF3 and 4 and Madden 2011 and 2012, and yet people call GT6 a "major improvement".

It's nowhere near an improvement. It's a copycat game based on the last iteration, thriving sales and money grabbing on people (like me, sadly) who have no choice that to play it, because there is no other freaking competition on the PS brand consoles.

Can't you just do something else? :/

I feel like whining and crying today..

WHERE is the course maker Kaz????? :(:ill::irked::mad:🤬

I know, I know.. "There are two major updates planned for January.." etc etc

:banghead: it just feels like this dang game is never going to be complete, just constant waiting and wondering when updates are coming.. :yuck:

Ok I'm done.. I'll go back to enjoying the game.. for a bit.. :mischievous:

Someone linked me a video of Need For Speed sounds saying it was realistic. I laughed and said the most realistic thing in NFS are the badges they put on cars, but you have to admit, the real vs game comparisons are stunningly close. Whereas with GT you know its the sound, but you have to work and picture it a little bit more. Somebody from EAs sound department needs to defect to PD like yesterday. Take a look for yourself and see.

I see your point. But "Autovista" is, at least, a feature related to cars and car enthusiasts, in opposition to "drive on the moon", which has no relation whatsoever to 'the real driving simulator' and the passion for cars.

I suppose GT6 wants to explore the "passion for driving" rather than the "passion for cars"
I wonder if we'll see a Lawn-mower Cup in GT7.

I also wonder why it's still not possible to turn the camera around the car when I race... Maybe lack of hardware resources?

Practically every driving/ racing game that has been released over the past years, has better engine sounds than GT.
Sad really how long this has been already ignored by PD...

Racing in the rain on a darkish evening at Nuremberg with a bunch of AI drivers smashing you in the rear every opportunity they get against a field that are already approx 10-16 seconds in front before you start in car that handles like a salmon covered in vaseline running up the face of a iceberg ----------well there`s another 10mins outta my life i'm never going to get back "Gran Turismo 6 The Real Driving Simulator " Baaaaaaaaaaaaa

Tuning does wonders to bad cars.

Personally, what gets on my nerves is that on GT5, I used a secret suspension setup along with downforce levels front:150 rear:180, and with that, I could manage high 3:30s on the nurburg.

After buying the car in GT6, and applying the suspension setup, (no idea about the downforce level, its madness PD!!) the car handles like absolute crap. It feels more like a boat, very slow to respond unlike in GT5.

In GT5, I could steer and know that I would be pointing in the right direction for a corner, now in GT6 its pretty unpredictable and just soooo much understeer, no matter how much I adjust the suspension.

Has anyone found any glitches with the setup (heard a rumor of front and rear setting being the wrong way around), or even a good setup that feels and steers like the X2010 did in GT5.

And they've lowered the steering sensitivity!

Those sounds sound like hoovers, Well hoovers that sound like supercars, PD need to sample those hoovers.

Ok, I finally have to admit it to myself, GT6 looks like it really was rushed.
They've avoided making new car models every way they can.
Cars that were missing from GT4 are still missing.
Errors that were in GT4, are still in GT6.
They've rushed to release it early with a promise of content to be added later.

So it looks like they've tried to spend as little time and money as possible on making GT6.
I sure hope they're working hard on GT7.......

My complaint is about racism:

Only those two colours and it's the white one that's 'superior'? Sure, completely incedental...

:P

I kid, I kid. My actual complaint is how awful this car's geometry is, it's like nothing has changed since GT4! :boggled:

Oh you play with DS3? I found it very difficult to drive fast cars with DS3. Try to set the sensetivity to 7 it helps a lot, or even better try a wheel!

@NFS MW Video

NFS not only sounds far better, it also looks and plays much better. Sadly its only an arcade game with no cockpit view and only supercars.

But the game itself is far superior. Imagine a casual gamer playing GT6 and then the latest NFS game. What a difference in game quality...

But for us Sim gamers, there is no choice but to play GT6 (or FM5).

Yeah I use sensitivity 7, but it seems in GT6, its less sensitive than GT5...

agree nothing from what we wanted was in GT6 such as : cars , livery editor , new sounds , race creator , better AI

I'm actually kind of glad that I own GT5 and haven't touched GT6 yet, GT5 wasn't a great game but it at least worked and it looks like a higher quality product.

It's been a while since I last visited this thread, but it seems the game turned out as I expected. Glad I kept my money. Wonder if I'll be back when GT7 comes around.

In fact, here's a few early predictions for GT7: No explicit FOV adjustment or ability to position cockpit camera. No, or poor livery editor (personally I couldn't care less). Bad AI, no halfway decent track creator (if it has one at all) and will probably still have some convoluted method of acquiring paint.

These I don't predict but suspect may happen: Still a lack of uniform quality among cars (some ported or still lacking interiors). Lacklustre sounds (probably better than now but still sub-par). Something significant removed like weather or day/night cycles.

I know it sounds like I'm being deliberately harsh, but this is honestly what I expect/suspect.

You bring up a good point. I bought GT5 and GT6 because I already had a PS3. But I'm definitely going to wait and see what people here say about GT7, before I spend $400+ on a PS4 to play it. If GT7 is still plagued with the same issues that GT5/GT6 have like a short & linear career mode, standard cars, bad AI, etc. while still not making any effort to add highly demanded features like a livery editor, then I'm not wasting my money.
