It's been a while since I last visited this thread, but it seems the game turned out as I expected. Glad I kept my money. Wonder if I'll be back when GT7 comes around.

In fact, here's a few early predictions for GT7: No explicit FOV adjustment or ability to position cockpit camera. No, or poor livery editor (personally I couldn't care less). Bad AI, no halfway decent track creator (if it has one at all) and will probably still have some convoluted method of acquiring paint.

These I don't predict but suspect may happen: Still a lack of uniform quality among cars (some ported or still lacking interiors). Lacklustre sounds (probably better than now but still sub-par). Something significant removed like weather or day/night cycles.

I know it sounds like I'm being deliberately harsh, but this is honestly what I expect/suspect.
Mark this post; it might be prophetic 👍

Just watched the Nurburgring Real Life vs GT6 video and the lack of this makes GT6 look like a Sunday driving school - it really annoyed me when they toned it down road vibration in GT5 too because others didn't want it.

Here's a thing PD......HOW ABOUT ****ing OPTIONS? ffs....

In fact, this is becoming one of this series problems - either not giving us options or giving us and then taking them away :irked:

I am . close to sacking this series off, unless there is a major overhaul. Sony needs to sort this out and hurry.

I do not want a game which is a beta test.
I do not want a game which is unfinished.
I do not want a game which takes 3 years to resolve some of its issues.
I do not want a game which has the need to take 3 years with updates sorting these issues, probably whilst removing some features that I originally liked.
I do not want a game that, after those 3 years, remove the online capabilities so I need to buy the next beta test and I cannot understand that people are supporting a series which has just done this - is this where the problem lies?
I do not want a game, especially after already having a previous version on that console, to have worse options/same or more problems.
I do not want a game which attempts to fleece its fans and treats them with what could almost be described as contempt.

This game is nothing but a cash cow. I've a really bad feeling we are going to get nickel and dimed throughout the ps4's life cycle....

Although nothing what so ever like a GT game, I really hope DriveClub nails a competent handling model which offers at least a Sim-Arcade feel. This will have to do me for the foreseeable future until either Kaz is fired or sales dwindle to almost dead numbers and they resurrect this game to the levels its legacy deserves (kind of contradict myself here by saying fire Kaz but is he really driving the series forward or has he had enough time?).

Fans need to stop putting up with this ****. I really wish the lower than expected sales numbers of GT6 was to do with fans having enough but I suspect it's probably to do with the fact its on ps3 and not ps4....think about it, they're about to switch off the servers on GT5 so why the hell should this game get support?

Sony and PD doesn't care because they could vacuum seal dog poop put "Sony Gran Poopismo by PD" have fools buy it and make money ... Sony is also Japanese own corporation that is import part of Japanese economy if they do bad the Japanese government will bail them out.

Poopismo,ha ha! Post of the year! How about bland borisimo!

Someone linked me a video of Need For Speed sounds saying it was realistic. I laughed and said the most realistic thing in NFS are the badges they put on cars, but you have to admit, the real vs game comparisons are stunningly close. Whereas with GT you know its the sound, but you have to work and picture it a little bit more. Somebody from EAs sound department needs to defect to PD like yesterday. Take a look for yourself and see.

Your definitly right, very close!

I got this game in mid-December, and I've played it twice since. I've been playing the series since the first one, too. I really enjoyed online in GT5, but my playing fell off sometime in the middle of last year. That was playing regularly since it came out. What I really don't like about it is how much it feels like an extension of GT5. I know that's a common complaint. I feel like I just started GT5 over again. In that mindset, I feel like I should just be able to import all my cars, credits, and licensure from GT5. I really need a reason to play it, and I feel like I don't have one for the first time. Just feels like PD could have issued this as DLC and an update to GT5. Shame, really. Simply just not impressed. Poor work, PD.

All the fun is gone.
I am really really starting to dislike GT6, there is just no fun left in the game and I have only had it for 5 weeks.
The career mode is just so boring. Way too easy to win every race in first try, even though you use an underpowered car. It doesn’t matter if you spin the car, the AI will wait for you to let you win. The career mode is not even trying to simulate a real race.
Same story for seasonal, license tests and the special events. To easy, no challenge at all.
Arcade mode is totally ruined, all the features from GT5 is gone, so no fun in that either.
And what about endurance races, they are gone as well. The 24 minutes events suck. Either you lose because of a bug or you win easily because all of your opponents take a pit stop on the very last lap of the race.
Left is online racing and that was the feature I was looking most forward to. We are about to start an online endurance championship, but it is on standby at the current moment because of the pit stop and tire bug. If those bugs are not fixed, we need to cancel the racing league. I have 14 friends in my racing league who shares my opinions about GT6. We just want to race and have fun with GT6, but PD is spoiling that opportunity.
Where is the freedom? We want and event creator to bring some fun back in this game and some more bug fixing. I don´t care about new cars, tracks or photo locations we already have plenty of those. I don´t even care about the bad sounds anymore. PD needs to focus on gameplay in some serious updates and hopefully within the next couple of weeks.
This game is made for kids and that is actually the only joy I have left in this game. Because my 5 year old daughter loves to race and she wins a lot of the races. She uses the wheel and I control the gear, brakes and throttle.

I'm happy with GT6 especially discovering all the standards that have had a serious makeover and there is a lot of them.
Just took some shots of the 240 Z 71' and it looks premium, so does the jag XJ220 in road and race form only thing missing are the interiors. I agree that the single player could be better, I think the main problem is the lack of prize cars, traditionally in GT you win cars for completing events, I just finished the GT300 championship and its just feels wrong that there is no prize car for your effort. I feel GT is structured all wrong and has been since GT4 or even GT3.
Remember the days when you used to start with 10000 creds and you had to buy a car to start racing in the Sunday cup, you would go as far as you could with that car, uprating it as you won money, it was a slow burn but that's were GT was at its best, scraping victories in your outclassed car until you won something that could compete.
All these pre-order bonus cars just destroy that, in some cases you start the game with the cars at hand to compete in any race so it becomes a case of wading through licenses. Not quite sure how they are going to implement B Spec because by the time we get it most people will have completed the single player events. I still think GT6 is an excellent game and they have done a lot of work that is, at first glance, unnoticed. I would feel better though if all the features that were advertised were present from launch, I would rather have waited another few months for that.

I've criticised this game a lot and agree with most of what has been said.

But I would like to recommend racing online at the Nurburgring 24 hour. For me that is the game. It brought GT5 alive for me a few months before 6 came out. 6 was a waste of my money and it sucks, but at least the ring and my friends are still there. Also PD seemed to have made some of my favourite cars faster!

Gather a bunch of friends if you don't already have any. Look into it.

I have GT5 for that thank you...oh wait.

Don't worry The Forza is taking over, they already have the graphics all in do time they will have more cars, tracks and a sweet online game.

I play gt to just drive cars and Forza to race gt can't learn from it's faults and cash cow ways they forgot about the customer...US!
So out with the old and in with the new, after all the years gt had been in the game one would think it would be all about wooing the customers with their Mega hit gt series instead of fixing and breaking something in the game after every patch.

I'm seriously hoping we will hear some news about the Enduros, hate to sound like a broken record but they are the main reason I play the game. :(

I keep wondering why the Top Gear test track was dropped. This is merely idle speculation, but I have some theories. 1) The people who actually make the decisions about licencing the track saw how PD had squandered it. 2) They actually keep an eye on the games industry and decided to back Forza, believing it to be the better game. 3) MS offered them a mountain of cash. 4) A mix of or all of the above.

On a separate note, I don't understand how PD's prioritisation can be so poor. I mean just try putting yourself mentally in Kaz's shoes for a moment. He's read the reviews, he must be aware of the fans criticisms, he knows people have been complaining for years about the sound, AI, lack of livery editor, lack of options (I know I mention it in nearly every post but FOV is critical to immersion). Yet what does he do? "Hmmm, I don't think the stars are good enough". Seriously!? Come on Kaz!

When it comes to sounds, I don't know how PD are not just plain embarrassed. Including non-car games, I'm actually struggling to think of a game with worse car sounds released in the last decade. That's quite an achievement! I recently watched a video of Toca 2 (not the Race Driver series, the PS1 game) and it had arguably better sounds. When pushed, even 1.0 litre cars have a visceral sound, but they just don't seem able to capture that.

As it stands, I think you could pick a Gran Turismo fan at random and they would probably do a better job as project leader. At least one of the long demanded improvements or features would make it into the game that way. I often think about learning to mod, find a decent platform and try to create my own vision. However I'm not ignorant enough to think that would be easy. The mod communities produce some astounding work. In fact, it seems that nowadays modders regularly produce better work than the producers, which is kind of sad really.

I would say that Microsoft gave Top Gear a mountain of cash, this is what happened with Ace Combat 6, Microsoft payed big money to make the game exclusive for Xbox 360.
