Reading reviews cannot replace playing in the respect of how it feels or handles, but researching the game can tell me what features have been implemented and improved (or not). I am disappointed as the game has not implemented any of the improvements or features I was hoping for.

your funny, infact I just laughed out loud....

Forza wipes the floor with GT when it comes to damage. When I shift down too early, I'll over-rev the engine and damage it. If I run into the back of someone, I'll damage my front bumper and lose downforce. You can even trash the gearbox, so that some gears become unusable.

GT needs to badly catch up with damage simulation.

And if you want a fine example of visual damage, pick up a DiRT game and drive your car headlong into a tree, thank me later rave repeat etc. etc.

Well being as Forza 5 is next gen it should have something half decent, what you should be doing is comparing GT6 to Forza 4 and driving cars into tree's just aint my thing.....

His funny what?

Anyway of course you can judge GT6 by reviews and videos - especially if the things you want to change are things like..
  • qualifying
  • not racing from the back
  • competitive AI etc...
  • better damage physics

For me if those aren't included then the quality of the graphics or physics are pointless.

I didn't need to buy it to find out I hate it - I made that mistake with GT5 already.

Same here (and add decent engine sounds to that).

I feel GT fanboys are losing their argument. I was one of them some two years ago... fortunately I'm not anymore. Now I long for a complete, enjoyable experience in a game, since GT failed to offer me that I moved to another. If it ever manages to offer me that again, then I give it another shot. Simple as that.

I'm a GTplanet member since the days of GT4. And trust me, the amount of complains right now is way, way bigger than it ever was before. Not only that, but the sales are very low indeed, with only 25% of what GT5 (another broken game, BTW) achieved in the same amount of time.

So the question is WTF are you doing on this site if you hate GT ?.....numpty

I've never really been the fanboy type (fan yes, fanboy no). Right back to when I owned an Amiga, if there was a good game on the Commodore 64, I'd want to play it at a friends house, not say "well yeah, but the Amiga has better graphics" or "but (equivalent game on the Amiga) is better". Even when it came to Street fighter vs Mortal Kombat I thought "why do I have to choose one to like?".

As a long term fan of the Gran Turismo series, I've found this generation disappointing. In fact, as a racing game fan I think the PS2 had more games I really enjoyed.

I am comparing GT6 to FM4.

You must be crazy to think Forza 4 is better than GT6, I played it around a friends house, it was like driving a bar of soap but that's just my opinion. Question, why are you guys on this site, this is GT Planet right ? ok you hate GT6 but you know let it go, why stay on here and keep chewing it, go join a Forza site and have a coke and a smile.....

So, you refuse to purchase GT6, you wish you had not purchased GT5 and you come on this site to trash all things GT, I think you need to get a life mate.

Why are you on this thread if all you are going to do is defend GT6 and tell us we are all wrong because you like it? This is a place to vent our frustrations about the series. It seems like you've been trying to pick an argument since your arrival.

Actually, you know what? you are right, wtf am I doing here, this is ' The GT6 Epic Whining and Crying Thread ' wtf did I expect.....

Maybe we all started off as GT players many years ago, and see the series going downhill so we give constructive criticism which they can use as consumer feedback? 'Hate' GT is a big word...

I too think FM4 still beats GT6 hands down as a "racing game". Please refrain from telling people what to do as soon as they don't adore GT like yourself, and are able to enjoy other racing games...

I think you need to press the little arrow in the top left part of the screen a couple of times, you will find that the gran turismo 6 part is just a sub forum of GTplanet. So there are other things to talk about on this site also. "trashing GT" is only part of it...

Wise words, Mr. That is exactly what I was gonna post but then you said it, probobly better than I could have.

Left a like!

I've been a fan of the gt series since the first gt but gt6 is severely pushing me to just to give up on it completely and I don't want to but the amount of problems with the game is unreal, the online experience is terrible compared to gt5, there is so many problems with pits lagging freezing the list goes on and on. Yes they say they will bring updates but they are so slow at fixing bugs and normally just overlook any important problems I have no or very little faith any of the problems will be addressed

Nothing like a bit of name calling to get your point across is there? Anyway here we go again...

I have invested uncountable time with the GT series since GT1 - The GT series was the only reason I bought my PS1, and another when that died, two PS2's and finally the PS3 for GT5.

I've had most versions of the game ie GT, GT2, GT4, GT4 & GT5P & GT5.

The fact that GT5 & GT6 are about as far away as you can get from a single player racing simulator is why I am qualified to moan to my heart's content that they have screwed up the whole point of the game.

If you love playing a game that is so easy to win my 6 year old niece plays it more than her Dad, then bully for you. Most of us in this thread prefer a challenge.

Now, you explain why you are insulting everyone in the whining & crying thread, when you should be playing the game you love to defend so much.

BTW You know what double posting is right?

You need to learn how to drive if thats the kind of stuff you do to cars. Gt is a driving sim which means you DRIVE the car, not CRASH the car. This aint destruction derby. Forza is all about motorsport "hence the name" so obviously its going to feature damage like most motorsport games. People whine about not enough races, well guess what its a DRIVING GAME! Intended to simulate driving. The only reason there are races is to earn cash to buy cars to drive them.

DRIVIN GAME

RACIN GAME

HURR DURR DERS A DIFRANCE

This argument holds no water. There is much a motorsport focus in Gran Turismo as there is in Forza. For God's sake it's even stronger, ever heard of GT Academy? And last time I checked Forza simulates driving too. You know, because you "drive" the cars around the track. And you obviously have forgotten Horizon which has a much greater focus on actual driving.

And since when was a game simulating professional motorsports all about "destruction derby"?

:dunce:

This ain't an argument. You moaned because forza has better damage. I stated that you shouldn't be crashing into other cars. I find it more frustrating crashing on gt than forza. Yes gran turismo does focus on racing, but mainly driving physics. have you never wondered why forza has the option for vinyl editor? To make race cars?. Have I heard of gt academy? Seriously do you think im 10 years old? Forza tries to simulate the cars driving and didnt do too great a job. I know because I have wheels for the 360 and ps3 also owned, played and completed every forza numerous times ;). Horizon more focused on driving? Hahahaha!!!! They made everything more sensitive from fm4 so kids were able to play it. Your going on about damage, if you focus on the damage in the game then you have a problem. I related to destruction derby since you loke crashing.

What is so hard to understand?

A racing simulation can and needs to have a full damage system. Polyphony took the plunge and implemented a damage model when they didn't need or probably want to (judging from their history and of what little they have said...). It's here now, and GT's is currently very unrealistic. Focusing on damage modelling is far from a joke.

And I do not like crashing in simulator games. I should however be suitably punished for being a bad/dangerous driver. Like in real life driving, which I gather GT is trying to simulate.

Why on earth would they think that people would want a game with fewer events/less variety?

Point to point rally stages: gone
Tight circuit head to head events (Di Amalfi, Di Aria, George V): gone
Actual endurance events: gone
Ten race championships: gone
Dozens of one make events: gone
An educational (as opposed to arduous) license system: gone

Gran Turismo 4: 100% completion was nearly impossible/super rewarding
Gran Turismo 6: people were announcing 100% completion after about five days

And to anyone who says that loads of new content is on it's way, how many people will still be around to play it? I put easily 200+ hours into GT4, probably around 200 hours into GT5, but got bored of GT6 after about a month.
