Wow, why would they remove ten race championships???? Unbelievable.

What are the most races per championship then?
5 is what I've seen, but I'm not all the way through either.
GT4 had the BEST options for 10 race series' (fixed :)), at least you could pull up (save overnight etc) go and do a car wash or change oil before continuing the C'ship. 👍

Really???? I just raced a rally race and won because the AI hit the brakes right before the finish line....on a straight!!!! No challenge at all, I am not even in a rally car. Good thing driving the car is fun, the racing is lame.

Jokes on you guys, Gran Turismo is still the best-selling console racing game and, due to the amount of manufactures putting in cars no other game has, that entire argument is invalid.

That gives me an idea..."Gran Turismo Motorsport". That sounds awesome! End GT on its 15th anniv. and start COMPLETELY from scratch - new name, new engine; that way, we wont be obliged to compare it so closely to previous GTs. Lets just face it. All PD needs is new blood injected into them.
I like your thinking. I was sitting thinking the same thing the other day. For ps4 it should be a new beginning. 7 is too far on. As you said new blood.

How do I open the last career mode "Super"? IS there a way to pay like $2 or something to Poly-phony to open this? Poly-Phony is now like a H0 we need to negotiate a rate for them to open their legs. Tsk Tsk :)

We're looking forward, not back and based on sales so far GT6 is the worst of the lot so far by quite a wide margin. It only takesone lemon for to send the whole franchise into a tailspin.

Maybe we all started off as GT players many years ago, and see the series going downhill so we give constructive criticism which they can use as consumer feedback? 'Hate' GT is a big word...
I too think FM4 still beats GT6 hands down as a "racing game". Please refrain from telling people what to do as soon as they don't adore GT like yourself, and are able to enjoy other racing games...
I think you need to press the little arrow in the top left part of the screen a couple of times, you will find that the gran turismo 6 part is just a sub forum of GTplanet. So there are other things to talk about on this site also. "trashing GT" is only part of it...

GTPlanet deals in all

Well we will have to agree to disagree on FM4 being better than GT6, I personally thought the handling was awful on Forza, I think you guys are all Dan Greenawalt's evil minions, this has been a giggle but I'm outa here..

Has probably been said before but... why is there so many Mazda MX-5s etc and so few decent racing cars? It sucks that I've paid a lot of money for the Peugeot 908, yet basically nothing to race against from that year, racing an R18 is pointless as the for the cars are different. Why no professional drift cars that haven't been in previous games? Why so few Nurburgring 24h cars? I know I'm making the same point as everyone else that Polyphone has been rushed (been lazy).

It feels like they could have made a great game as some cars with my wheel (DF GT) are lots of fun to drive, but then they decided GT Vision and all this artsy BS is more important than actually making a decent simulator.

Yep, it's been said and explained a few thousand times already - it was an important car to the tuner crowd in Japan during the 90's and so all models have come to be in the game, same with the RX-7s and Skylines et al.

Try some of those other cars, they all feel great with the new suspension and physics - plus you'll have more cars available to compete with them. I think you'll enjoy these cars if you do, and you'll realise that PD haven't been lazy after all, quite the opposite if you go off and have an explore around the game and its huge garage.

I must be extremely easy to please, because I'm having fun with the game and haven't picked it apart detail by detail just to weigh the pros and cons of the game to justify my purchase of it like most people here are doing. I mean seriously, as far as people go to slam this game, NO GAME could possibly stand up to that level of knit picking. Anyway, that point aside, I do have one gripe... I want my course maker already!

@MasamuneDate epic avatar!

Anyway, this has been preached and preached, but we need better A.I! I got rear ended by an A.I in some form of Peugot race car, soley because we were both using the same line, and he seemed to think I didn't exist in that race!

Good choice. I wouldn't say GT6 is total crap, but a total disappointment.

GT6 is disappointing but I personally found GT5 to be the even bigger disappointment. Mainly because of how poorly designed single player was. Short career mode, stuffing all standards into a random UCD, poorly thought out leveling system that kept you from using certain cars and doing certain events, the silly decision of making B-spec separate and giving it the longer races, etc. I'd rather deal with GT6 and all of its bugs than go back to GT5.

The only worthwhile things I would say GT5 has over GT6 is tire wear/fuel consumption in arcade mode and real endurance races.

I have yet to acquire GT6 and already I have heard nothing but negative comments about what it doesn't have; what it should have; what it didn't do right; what it needs to do better etc. In my opinion if the game included everything that everyone wishes were there then there would be no room for advancement.

It's just like life really, for example someone who easily and immediately acquires everything they want in life would just end up bored after a while with no drive or purpose. If GT6 were the "perfect" game according to what we all wish were there then I believe for one we wouldn't have anything to expect from future titles to make them stand out from the others, and secondly we would get bored after having completed everything.

I'm glad it's not perfect, and it has many things to improve on. That just means a future of great advancement for the Gran Turismo series. Something we all can look forward to.

Brodie, not jumping all over you here, so please don't take this personally...
While it may indicate a "great advancement for the GT series", it is hardly a great advancement on GT5.
Far from it, as you have already heard and seen what has been written on here so far. :(

As for it not being perfect, I think most people had a feeling it wouldn't be, but the amount of let down people are experiencing and expressing, surely indicates it is a long way from perfect.
A lot farther away from perfect than it could have been. 👎

Heck, I'm a fanatic, a fan-boy, or whatever people want to call religious GT followers, but man, my faith is what PD can deliver has taken a nose dive. :guilty:
Yes, I could have saved money, like you and waited for more reviews to come, but I didn't, I expected a lot more.....foolishly, but I trusted PD.
I got it on release date, down here in Aus, it cost me 115AUD. :ouch: PLUS, only 2 weeks prior, I laid out another 400 for a new console....
I could/SHOULD have waited, got a PS4 and GT7 when it hits. :dunce:

My bad.....hindsight is a wonderful thing......

My loving wife got me GT6 for Christmas. I didn't ask for it. But I spent so much time playing GT5 that she just assumed I'd want GT6.

But I don't want it. I haven't played it and I don't want to play it. I don't want to hurt her feelings but seriously, I don't want to play it.

I installed it but when the first stupid little get-aquainted race came up I just couldn't do it. As I sat there with it loading I realized that I am actually revolted by it.

The fact that GT6 has everything that sucked about GT5 just feels like adding insult to injury.

Don't waste your time telling me to sell it or give it away. I'm not going to hurt her feelings like that.

I seriously laughed harder then I should have at your story. Maybe it's the change in tone that I read it in, like from nice to angry. I also can understand you since I'm married to some of these people wont ever understand why but I'd do the same.

Perhaps that is why I laughed, cause I can relate and read it as if it were me. 👍
