What is so hard to understand?

A racing simulation can and needs to have a full damage system. Polyphony took the plunge and implemented a damage model when they didn't need or probably want to (judging from their history and of what little they have said...). It's here now, and GT's is currently very unrealistic. Focusing on damage modelling is far from a joke.

And I do not like crashing in simulator games. I should however be suitably punished for being a bad/dangerous driver. Like in real life driving, which I gather GT is trying to simulate.
I understand you want to be punished, I prefer total wipe out or no damage at all. Gt is unrealistic in that department, doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that. They focus more on the driving physics more than damage. Pretty much why they still use cars from gt3. They dont care about damage and never really have or it would be a feature by now. They want to keep their name "the real driving simulator" otherwise it would be called gran turismo motorsport. Don't get me wrong, if they put real damage in I won't complain at all, I'd be happy to see it. I just want the driving to feel good. Gt6 is the first gt game that allows you to spin other cars out instead of them being glued to their line. Since forza 1 come out people have wanted realistic damage and vinyl editor in gt. Agian, I wouldn't complain but im not too bothered.

They don't care about damage. Right. And they don't care about anything the fans are asking, for that matter. They don't even care to release a finished product, may I say.

But good news!!!!!!

I'm at 82% completion. That means a few more useless races to complete in the single player rubbish campain; and I'll be able to put GT6 on the top of GT5 cartridge, letting those two collecting dust and acarians.

I know this. Gt6 has too much that it should have, like interiors for the cars, exhaust notes etc. The ps3 couldn't handle the amount that should be in. As I said though, its all about how the cars feel. They never have listened or we wouldn't have 30 miatas, 30 skylines and 20 3000gts lol

I'm at 79%. Doesn't really take long at all :/

Why on earth would they think that people would want a game with fewer events/less variety?

Point to point rally stages: gone
Tight circuit head to head events (Di Amalfi, Di Aria, George V): gone
Actual endurance events: gone
Ten race championships: gone
Dozens of one make events: gone
An educational (as opposed to arduous) license system: gone

Gran Turismo 4: 100% completion was nearly impossible/super rewarding
Gran Turismo 6: people were announcing 100% completion after about five days

And to anyone who says that loads of new content is on it's way, how many people will still be around to play it? I put easily 200+ hours into GT4, probably around 200 hours into GT5, but got bored of GT6 after about a month.

Seriously, this is everything wrong with GT6. All of those features, the super-long championships, tightly enclosed circuit races, the loads of one-make events and the endurance events were just so great. It's what still keeps GT4 as my personal best GT game of all time. Not everyone is going to want to invest their time into trying to play online, either with uncooperative or unwilling players, or lackluster internet connections. The offline content had a lot of meat and potatoes back in the days of GT4. Even GT5 had more things to do, minus the B-Spec redundancy of course.

Single player was the best thing of GT, and it always should be. Why take away mandatory nutrients for a meal that's fit for a body?

Single player was the best thing about GT, but there also was no multiplayer either. You can't ignore the elephant in the room of online play any more than you can abandon the thing that got you to the dance, single player career mode. PD is having an awful time balancing the two and both are suffering as a result. More effort needs to be put into both or GT will quickly become a trivia question.

GT already is a trivia question.

What is the most successful console racing game series of time?

Need for Speed isn't a driving game? I'm in a car, I'm driving...
Yes but are you allowed to have fun while doing that driving? If yes, it's a racing game. Otherwise it's a driving game. Gran Turismo is a driving game.
People ask me why I am on this forum. Well, it's to learn these kind of things.

Not sure if serious...

Mostly because I know there's people on these forums who would say that seriously.

OMG, I think I love you. :embarrassed:
But in all seriousness, THIS has to be the post of the century.
True, and to the point. 👍 👍 👍 👍

For goodness sake PD, when will you listen to people about what is REALLY needed in your games???

Ok, going out on a limb here......I do NOT give a rats a** about ONLINE, ok.
The series was always about the "career mode".......until "online" showed it's ugly head.
Online may be fun for some, but it does not necessarily make it the acceptable way of play for everyone.

Many things can hinder a good online experience, a slow, or total lack of reliable internet is probably right up there at the top of the tree. 👎
The lackluster online feeling that GT6 has....crikey, even GT5 was more fun, and easier to navigate. :(

And as for people here complaining about the complaints....well, what ever dudes.
If you like it so much I'm happy for you.
Does not mean we, who don't like it just as much, don't have a right to vent.
And to be honest, I have about 30 hours into GT6, doing (was) the International A series.
The whole career is boring and lifeless, goes way too quick, and yeah, I just got bored with it.

And before someone tells me to "go play something else then"....I already have, several games in fact.
The fact also remains, I was at one time, a true GT follower.....I'd have skated down a razor blade barefoot if Kaz had asked that of me. :guilty: But not any more. :)

That gives me an idea..."Gran Turismo Motorsport". That sounds awesome! End GT on its 15th anniv. and start COMPLETELY from scratch - new name, new engine; that way, we wont be obliged to compare it so closely to previous GTs. Lets just face it. All PD needs is new blood injected into them.

It's pretty sad that one of the biggest improvements PD could make to GT6 would be putting back what they've taken out over the past two generations, but that's definitely the case. It's hard to say that the GT franchise is heading in the right direction when it's lost about 90% of it's game length (and that's no exaggeration).

It's become more about the casual gamers, who want to put in a couple of hours, get as many PSN trophies as possible, and leave it behind, rather than the car enthusiasts, some of whom have been devoted to the franchise for over fifteen years, and that genuinely upsets me.
