The (obvious) sarcasm flew over your heads apparently? :) Am I the only one who remember alot of people saying gt6 will take as long if not longer to make than gt5?Now according to dude it will also be delayed like gt5 supposedly was.
I'd still like you to answer my question, please.

By how much was GT5 delayed?

To be honest, KY had massively implied that GT5 would be released before 2010, as you can see in this interview:

https://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yamauchis-best-interview-ever/
Kazunori laughed at the notion of a 2010 release date for Gran Turismo 5, and said it will be released sooner than expected.

While technically GT5 did not have an official release date until Q1-Q2 2010 (where it was then delayed by >a month), you can argue that KY made it seem that GT5 would be release before 2010. That and the fact that PD did not respond to rumours about it's release date.

In this sense, GT5 was delayed for over a year.

GT 5.5? I hope not.

Lets face facts. PS3 is an obselete piece of kit.
1 3.2GHZ Power 5 CPU and 6SPUs that are non independent. All instructions are fed through the Power 5 core.
It has a crap (by2013s standard) GPU, an Nvidia 7800GTX GPU and split memory pools of 256MB XDR@3.2ghz and 256MB DDR3.

Its a mess, YET, Guerilla Games, makers of Killzone series ported their PS3 engine unto PS4. They had a press conferance today detailing it.

The PS4 has 8 Cores, each between 1.6GHz and 2GHz.
8GB GDDR5 ram at 176gb/s
and a HD7850 GPU.

What they did was basically emulate the PS3 instruction set on PS4 by having 6SPUs emulate by the 6CPU cores on PS4 to distribute the CPU loads. They used the remaining two PS4 CPU's to emulate the POWER PC Core, and then ofloaded the rest to the GPU.

SO, why didnt PD announce GT6 being cross-gen if its that simple to do????
The PS4 Graphics Card is literally 10× the power of PS3s AND, there is a unified pool of memory.
I am disappointed. I really am.

First GT I may skip......... :(

Well you're good with computer engineering but as far as ECONOMICS go you could have answered your own question quite easily but not been as "showy" with the answer:

PD will release GT6 for PS3 because the can charge their customers TWICE. Once for GT6 and again in two years when they get around to GT7 and from the word on the street, PS4 games will be nearly TWICE the price as a PS3 game

By I think almost a month.I remember it was suppose to come early november then they delayed it to mid-late november... why?
And that single month let's you come to the conclusion that GT6 will possibly be delayed by 2 years?

Explain your logic please, I can't follow.

LOL. Its cool.@dr.slump

Funny im actually eating a cookie right now.
Especially because it's me who that often uses sarcasm.

Oh cookies! Damn you just made me hungry now, let me see if I have some left in the kitchen...

I really love how the fanboys here are unable to accept other people's opinion, how COULD we bash their perfect, flawless beloved game! :) We are all just stupid, right? How old are you, seriously?

Is it any different the other way round?

:)

It sounds like you accept the fanboy opinions.

Not really they'll probably go from $0,99 to $60,-

There are other websites where you could find this, but this was the first that popped up ;)

The reason people complain about these issues so much is because there are only two studios making a serious attempt at realistic simulation type all in one console racing games who have the financial clout to licence the huge amount of cars and tracks that people want. There's not a huge range of choice unless you want to go to a PC sim with only 30 cars.

Both of these studios, and I assume you know who I'm talking about, develop their games exclusively for their respective owners/publishers consoles.
When you buy that console you invest in it in various ways, the most obvious way being to buy games for it.

There is no serious alternative to GT on the PS3. None.

Is it not reasonable to expect improvements to sound 8 years after GT4?
-The other franchise improved its sound massively within this console generation.

Is it not reasonable 7 years into this consoles lifetime to expect current gen graphics from all the in game assets?
-The other franchise outsourced it's modelling and contains an essential collection of fully realised cars.

Is it not reasonable after 15 YEARS since the release of GT1 to expect an improvement in the AI?
-The other franchise has consistently improved in this area to the point of having sometimes overly aggressive AI even if they're often not very quick.

I appreciate the hard work that Polyphony do but it's hard to ignore the stagnation that has taken hold on the GT series during this console generation. I will continue to follow the progress of the series with hope for the future but I WILL NOT refrain from making reasonable criticisms.

Yes it is. I dont see myself telling everyone who says how great the game and how they are glad to see it and appreaciate the updates that they are stupid or anything like that. Unless they start being offensive, which they mostly do first to everyone who doesnt like something.

So you're saying that long development times are actually a good thing, because we'd have to buy new games less frequent, and that's cheaper for us?

I will comment on your post purely because it is full of something I really can't stand any more and those are deliberate misconceptions that are not grounded in reality and facts but in some unbelievable universe created as "universal common opinion" - although it is completely false.

- Forza didn't improve its *sound massively within this console generation* it was exact the OPPOSITE. Forza 2 had the best sounds in all 3 this-gen Forza games, while FM4 has the worse of all 3 games. From Forza 2 to Forza 4 we lost progressive upgrades in sounds when installing tuning, collision sounds were dumbed-down and actual technical-aspect of the sound - mixing the channels for playback - is nothing less then horrid (even compared to FM2). FM4 has no channel-mixing in surround for instance, all sounds comes on central-speaker only, tyres are processed together with engine/exhaust, etc. The is no rear-front mix and to cut it short, Forza series is the showcase of *sound massively downgraded within this console generation*

But nevermind, it is not important to have factual claims I presume.

Yet it still sounds great to the ear and was praised to the heavens. In the context of this discussion we're talking about the sounds themselves and not the technical intricacies of how they are transmitted.

I wonder sometimes if the people posting here really take their time to enjoy cars outside their PC/Xbox/PS3.
Yes, sounds in GT5 are dull, and yes, sounds in Forza4 are more exciting.
Being this said neither are realistic. GT5´s approach trades dullness for consistency across the sound spectrum and Forza´s trades consistency for loudness and marketable sounds for the guy that has the idea that a sports is loud and dramatic then a realistic sound must be loud and dramatic.
Nothing is this linear and as much as I am bored at some engine sounds in GT5 that should have been pretty spectacular, I also find ridiculous how Forza almost make some engine sounds a caricature of themselves.
My two cents.:sly:
