I used to love the GT series now I just feel like crying. AI is just as dull as in the first game, we still have standard cars and new premium cars released without interiors, same customization option since GT1, recycled tracks (from PS2!), horrible damage simulation, etc.
I will not buy Forza 5 because it's too arcadey and I don't want an XBone but I will be jumping ship to Project CARS. Hopefully GT6 will keep selling poorly and GT7 will be a complete failure... Poli Delays needs a wake up call.

2 things: there's nothing wrong with recycled tracks as long as they're a similar quality to the new tracks and Forza 5 is definitely not arcadey. But, other than that, I feel the same way.

It's funny tha Forza5 now has laser scanned nurb plus those cars on next gen whilst PD still hasnt delivered the GT6 they pitched to us on old tech, Really pathetic, It's a lot easier to watch though when you dump your emotional attachment to the series, You'll really thank yourself when you do,

It's possible to see how Forza5 could be overtaken or equalled but its impossible to see how PD could do it,

GT7 better be a earth shaker at this rate. I'll buy it regardless because I'm a GT super fanboy and I still hold hope for the franchise. It could be the last one if they can't get shiz right out of the box. They are going to get crushed by the competition.

I should have expanded that bit on recycled tracks, I do enjoy racing in the High Speed Ring and actually puts a smile because I've raced there since GT1, the problem is that the quality of some tracks like Laguna Seca is very low, that one in particular looks like it came straight out of the PS2. Gran Turismo is just very inconsistent and with tracks it's the same.

With Forza I guess that is very subjective...

It would be nice if we got "GT: Anthology" Not a collection of games but a single game with ALL the tracks from GT1-6 I would love to race on the gt2 tracks again with some of the cars they cut from gt2, it`ll never happen considering PD cant even make good with one single dlc track from 7 months ago.... But we can dream!

Oh man don't make me daydream about that again.. Red Rock Valley, El Capitan, SSR11, Seoul Central, NYC, Seattle, Hong Kong, Opera Paris, Midfield Raceway. Why in the world would PD just dump these tracks?? :grumpy:

@avens : It's eye candy, but it's not like GT6 version looks like ****.
Eye candy would imply it's appeal is just visual. Every square inch of this track is laser scanned. Every bump, every crack, every dip, every rise, every curb, every track edge is near pixel accurate. Credit where credit is due, this is a definite feather in T10's cap and sets a new standard for track reproduction in the console wars between them and PD.

^This.

Look at the track closely and you'll see that, besides the graphics, the attention to detail is noticeably more, both in track layout and in those little things that make tracks better as an experience.

As of today the best version of the Nurburgring in games/sims is Forza5's, by quite a wide margin. Some time ago I read there were plans to make another laser scanned version of it for Assetto Corsa I believe, but I'm not updated on the matter.

The only way PD's version of it will come anywhere close is that they laser scan it, meaning doing a big portion of the work again as it wasn't flawless to begin with, which most probably is not going to happen, ever. It's that much work to achieve something like this quality-wise.

I wouldn't discard PD doing the same completely, and adding in Weather and Time like they did with the Gen III Nurb complex. They could or they couldn't, we never know for sure.

I'd bet on it never happening so long as PD continues with their "small but mighty" team philosophy. If T10's numbers are accurate you're talking the equivalent of 6 modelers for an entire year. The track DLC, not that there is any anyway, would completely dry up or nearly so during that time. Unless they contract this out or start running some want ads, I just don't see this happening, at least not to the detail that T10 has.

As I said, we never know.

Spent a few hours tonight on T10's Nurb, has been a gift from the GearHead Gods! As you mentioned, bumps, rises and dips, all there. I also noticed a couple of blind rises and limited sight lines too. Its not as wide as other Nurbs. The times of S and R PI's have reflected real life times. Those old Nurbs in FM3 and 4 were wayyyyy off. Good job T10! Bring on some more!

I highly doubt PD will ever laser scan Nurburgring again, which T10 has already and they get a huge 👍👍👍 from me, even without day/night cycle and weather (which shouldn't even matter if a developer like PD can't even get 60fps to be consistent with it). PD will take the lazy route and just port their un-laser scanned Nurb and give it pretty graphics in GT7, which won't do them any justice, whatsoever.

I said eye candy not only for the graphics, but for the quality of the track too. But I think the GT6 version is good enough, and PD should work on a lot of things before laser scan Nurb.

The thing is, PD never work on a lot of things that are "fan important". All they do is keep adding more and more content without having to solve the main problems others are concerned with, such as the AI being too slow. What PD really needs to do is focus on giving the GT series a new face and start actually listening to the fans. Not these "it'll come in a future update, or "it's technically possible".....

That's why I hope games like Project CARS, a new king of racing sims that'll soon come down from the heavens, will give Kaz and PD so much pressure, to the point they HAVE to start listening to their fans.

I think he already started to listen to their fans (The Q/A for exemple), but I don't know when he will start to add what we want and if it will be enough.

Lets hope soon... I guess at least we are getting some more VGT cars now but its not the features we were promised I mean where is community features? Was that not meant to be out like day2?
