The GT6 Epic Whining and Crying Thread

The Red Bull track with no people is creepy. It would make a good Twilight Zone episode. It needs crickets and the haunting far away sound of a single invisible F1 car as background noise. :nervous:

I feel the same with Route 5 and Autumn Ring, too. :indiff:

Nope, I stick the disc in and play the Game (we all know it's a game).

How can you seriously quote the words from the case/ title "The Real Driving Simulator" and not believe it's marketing.

Have you ever heard the term "It does what's written on the box"..?

Since the original GT, the actual on track circuit racing has never been brilliant, you have to admit.
I mean a field of 6-10 cars is rubbish in comparison with games as far back as TOCA, all the F1's, Race Driver, etc
20-30 cars on the grid is real racing.

GT could drop the term "Race" and replace it with "Track-Day"
As someone who takes part in real-world track-days, it's a good comparison.
You take a fast street car, pull out everything that's not bolted in, strap on a helmet and drive as fast as you dare with a small group of mates.

So, I've elaborated and shown you how GT simulates the "Real World" experience.

EDIT:
Seems I'm not the only one who thinks GT isn't all about rascing

Dude, do you ever know how much Forza's AI cars per race is?

Wow, thank you so much PD for changing MR handling physics again. I'm so glad I get to throw out over 100 tunes and start over on every single MR car I own. It's not like I had a league race this weekend where I was using an MR car or anything. I can't tell you how excited I am to trash two weeks of tuning information and start from scratch less than 36 hours from the green flag. In the future, warn us that you're going to do a physics overhaul. Or, better yet, instead of giving in to the cries of a bunch of casuals who don't know how to tune a car, you simply say "get good".

In before... B..b..b...ut you should enjoy re-tuning all your cars it's fun...and...everyone is in the same boat so stop whining :dunce:

Woah there buddy, not bothering with tuning doesn't immediately equate to "Casual"

No...no they're not. Well I'm not anyway, as I have no tuned cars in GT6. Still, I hate the way they tweak (ruin) the physics model at every opportunity. There was nothing wrong with the way the cars interacted with kerbs imo. But hey, now it's been "fixed".

Did you notice I prefaced my post with, "in before"?

Have you felt the new kerbs yet though? They feel nice.
In all seriousness though, sure, you didn't feel it needed fixing, but they love to tweak, it's usually a good thing.

When I first plugged my wheel in, the FFB felt number, not nicer to me. It's easier to ride the kerbs now, & they don't pull you around as much. I liked how it was before, because it was more challenging. That said, after several hours of online racing I'm now attuned to the new physics, & still had a jolly good time too!

I was just joking around, I've only been able to play for 10 minutes since the update, and didn't notice the difference. PD does like to tweak pointless things for no obvious reason but I'm sure they have a plan.

Kaz sure likes being in the lime-light doesn't he. (ref FIA thing) He's like the first kid in the neighborhood to get a Nintendo and everyone wants to show up at his house and he loves it.

Out of boredom with GT6 I cranked up GT5 and did the 4 Hours at Nurburgring again today using a slower car this time to make it more interesting.

If I were asked to deliberately run the Gran Turismo franchize into an unrecoverable nose dive I'm not so sure I could have done it any better than what PD has done with GT6.

It's just so thoroughly half baked across the board.
Some aspects are even getting worse :dunce:

At each decision they make, it seems Gran Turismo is slowly and painfully turning into something other than a game. Will we ever get a full livery editor or a full customization system for all of the cars? With this FIA partnership it all seems very unlikely.

@Samus just so you know I agree with some of what you say on here and good for you to stand up for your opinions (this is sincere not sarcasm) but I can't help but think that every time i see your avatar

I'm officially done with GT.

Really? That's all? The option of driving cars without interiors was all it took?

I'm willing to bet it has more to do with the utter complacency than anything else.

You'd be surprised how easily people are turned off when they see something stuck in a ditch with no attempts to get unstuck from said ditch.

Remember PD's famous and often quoted dedication to realism? Well they are really stretching it these days..

Standard cars
Terrible AI
Unrealistic Races
No qualifying
Terrible sounds
Mediocre Graphics

I think this latest announcement demonstrates that PD's philosophy is diverging farther and farther from mine. As I said in another thread: GT is becoming a poor simulation of a simulator.

No sane development company would use PS2 graphics assets in a PS4 game, it is frankly ridiculous. Those people who want to play with standard cars still have their PS3's and GT5 or 6. If GT7 didn't include them they won't magically disappear from the games you already own.
