I've been a GT Player since buying GT3 & PS2 just for it. But after all the recent revelations I just cannot help thinking how much would it cost me to get an X Box One & Forza 5 (P Cars will be on the XB1 as well). I can't believe it, but I'm actually thinking of going over to the dark side...wait a minute...could that be the right side?

💡

Just think: By the time GT7 comes out you could probably buy an Xbox with FM5, FM6, Horizon 2 and pCARS.

I just went to Forza's website to see what I have been missing and I find this extremely photo-realistic picture. I have not seen anything that comes close to this in any of PD's renders. I could stare at this for hours... View attachment 178122

Meanwhile, at PD HQ..

B...b...b..b....if you remove standards how does that get us more premiums?:dunce:

It's a wonder if people just live stuck in a time loop most of their life. Do they only listen to Counting Crows on the way to work because they love that 90s sound? Do they sit at home and watch reruns of their favorite 90s Nick cartoons...I just have to wonder why people seem to want to keep this when having the newer version of it would not only look better, but drive better as well.

Oh the silliness of this all.

Id love to know who the "fans" are that love the outdated ps2 models ;) I mean IF they remade them fine, but just keeping them and saying "people like them" does KAZ live in another universe?

I don't mind the standards as long as they are good enough looking (I mean "semi-premium") But I don't want any Alto Works like.

I actually have something to contribute to this thread for once. I just bought the Ferrari 250 GTO, and, to my horror, I discovered that the cambers and toe angles weren't adjustable, so the rear camber is locked at 3.5. I'm getting over it, and to be honest I'm not that bothered anymore, but still.

IMO, I will stay on PS4. DriveClub is coming in a few months, and it's already the best looking racer ever created. The videos are simply amazing. Nothing is coming close of it, right now.

But it's not a simulator, I know.

To be fair, there's plenty of people who are extremely vocal about liking them just the way they are.

Then again, there's plenty of people who think haggis is awesome.

You know this will be on PS4 right? And it is a simulator:)

I like haggis...but I don't like standards...I wonder where that leaves me:ouch:

I will get PCars for sure, but still, right now, I really can't wait for DriveClub. It's the game I am the most excited about.

I do not mind if they put standard cars in GT7 but players got to understand if there are cars in the game and they do not like them and it can be standard or premium you don't have use them.

In GT6 I do not like some premium cars in the game so I just leave them alone it is not so hard to do that is it. It is a lot better to have a variety of cars in a game to keep every one happy.

I would be happy if they just got rid of all the standard cars. Run a poll and takes say the top 200 and make them premium then move forward with premium only from here on out.

Also is there going to be 2 levels of premium when GT7 Arrives. The premium cars produced for that game being of superior detailing quality compared to GT5 & 6 Premiums

The GT5/6 premiums already have a higher quality you can only see in photomode. They are reduced on track because of the limitations of the PS3. They will be just fine on the PS4. Also, you realize we got less than 100 unique new cars with GT6. Combined with the DLC from GT5 that's 130 cars in 3 years. That means making 200 standards into true premiums, because a premium is a complete remodel, is 5 years work.

I just think after ALL THIS TIME cant they make all standards premium? At this rate all the premiums on ps4 will be ps3 models (though they look awesome on ps3 they wont look good compared to say project cars on ps4)

Unless KAZ renames it "Retro turismo"

I wonder more about what they're going to do with the tracks. There's a big difference between the ported PS2 tracks, the "simple" PS3 tracks like HSR or Cape Ring, and the "OMG that's awesome" tracks like Toscana or Bathurst (shadowy weirdness aside).

I imagine that divide will stand out even more when we get PS4 era tracks in the mix as well, and a stable lighting/shadowing system that really shows off the good tracks to their full advantage.

Yeah not to mention that they're going to be up against the laser-scanned counterparts from FM6 and with PCARS released by then, people will set their standards through the roof across all platforms.

And it's damned delicious!

I can just see the reviews:

Wow, this is so great, next gen is the greatest thing ever!!

Lol...wut?

I have, just as much as the next guy and I still don't see the big deal.
Then it's not the game for you obviously. PCars forte is that it's a driving/racing sim from the ground up. Each car and each track has a level of attention to detail never seen in a console game. The adjustments to cars will mimic their real life counterparts, not done in the style of a videogame like GT. The track list is second to none. Everything on it is next gen state of the art quality. The career mode will be stellar. Basically if you took a wishlist of everything GT fans have asked for in the past few years, PCars has it. What it doesn't have is 1200 cars so if all one cares about is just getting the most stuff, and not the quality of the stuff, it won't appeal to you.

It's like the difference between Johhny Walker Gold or Platinum and your run of the mill cheap whiskey. The run of the mill cheap whiskey probably sells a lot more volume, but once you try the Johnny Walker, it's hard to go back to enjoying the cheap stuff. I expect GT7 to far outsell PCars, but given PCars budget it'll still be wildly profitable at 1/4 the sales and it bodes well for future editions of the game.
