I must admit I had a shred of optimism not too long ago with GT6. I setup my wheel, cracked a beer and decided to check out these new updates for myself.

I didn't even finish my beer before turning off GT out of pure boredom. I finished the intermediate "challenge" on apricot hill and turned it off. In that race I was also rammed by a Lexus from behind on the last lap. Good to see the AI still know you are on the track with them.

Bring on PCars. What a console racing SIM should be.
In the meantime, if you want good offline racing, there's this...and take it from me it's white knuckle stuff! The graphics aren't the best, tuning is limited but effective and the physics are simcade but very intuitive and smooth driving, not hanging the tail out, is the fastest way around the track. The track selection is fantastic and the racing is superb, with difficulty levels that will challenge just about anyone.

It's so very apparent that Kazunori and PD are the type of developers that will proudly sink with their ship before they are dictated what to do next. Yes, they've created a blog that will give us a more friendly, more personal take on what PD partakes in....and hopefully they take all the criticisms with open arms. They ought to be embracing them and praising the easy accessibility of their fans' thoughts and ideas...also known as: the Internet.

The staff is SO small that PD are only currently able to shuffle out the Vision GT cars (which are impressive, I admit). But as far as paid DLC goes, or the induction of new manufacturers or current trending cars, we see nothing.

PD's integrity to itself and its employees is truly a double edged sword: we observe moments of brilliance, rays of light flickering in the darkness. And then we have the ominous darkness itself. If PD's integrity remains a double edged sword, I think they'll end up cutting themselves with the sharper edge and bleed out a slow (already having begun, in my opinion) death. *cue dramatic music*

So, it's like the way of life on this planet!

If you go XBone, get Forza and PCars and you'll have the best of all worlds. Your soft sim and your hardcore sim, and both will be stunning to look at. PCars has everything anyone ever wanted for GT, but without the car count, and the track library is second to none, it's just stunning. Can't lose!
This is the most reasonable suggestion I have ever seen around here.

Why thank you! One huge difference is going to be the car selection and that's something you can't get around. PCars will focus on high performance and classic race and street cars and race simulation. There won't be any 56' Ford F150's nor any Daihatsu Midgets to play with, but Forza will have that in spades and a more casual atmosphere. Different games to fill all our driving and racing desires.:)

There seemed to be a clear goal when designing those titles, and it came through in how they played.

That's because they had to be FINISHED and not patched with multiple Gb's of data before added content. Outsourcing or growing the team in-house may alleviate some issues but if the team is this unorganized at 150-ish... does not bode well.

Kaz is now reliant on "future updates" that so far have been implemented with no clear direction or purpose - which should be coming from him. Instead we get statements like "that's a good idea... could I use it?" or "we could do that... maybe". PD has not had any serious competition so far on PlayStation. Most competition has been on other systems and the PS4 will be an awakening. It's far easier to jump ship when your competition doesn't require different hardware.

Kaz should hire someone to be the leader and let him be the visionary guru he so obviously wants to be.

In GT4 and 5 I hated B-spec. I mean really hated on it. And now it's gone from GT6 and I'm happy. Like really happy, but I'm also kinda sad.

Remember in elementary there was that one small underdeveloped shy quiet kid who always got picked on. I picked on those kids a lot. And while I definately feel bad now. I still kinda miss having that kid around so I could pick on him.

I think b-spec is that little kid and I want him to come back... so I can pick on him. A lot. Really.

Aren't a good portion of them just upscaled Forza 4 models? That's not worth the money.

That's an honest question, I do believe that's how it was for a majority of the Forza DLC packs but feel free to correct me.

Really? Please watch the video again.

They are clearly more detailed than any car on GT6 and it's 10 a month. Here the biggest announcement ever was 3 cars (Senna), lesser detailed than those.

I just want to take a moment to thank @MeanElf for his really good contributions to this forum, and to GTplanet as a whole. Attacking people, making up facts and rolling on dirt one's reputation is always better than to answer legitimate concerns.

That's irrelevant to the point I was making.

I have been looking into this Johnny, it looks very promising. Would you recommend it on PS or PC?

To make it even better, by the time we have GT7+pCARS available on PS4, you'll probably be able to get FM5+FM6+FH2+pCARS on X1.

pCARS for pure racing.
FM5+FM6 for huge car selection.
FH2 for free cruising and casual hijinks.

I think that covers just about everything, and because each is a separate game they can be refined to a much greater degree than if a single developer tries to do all these things at once.

The 1991 Acura NSX handles like it has shopping cart wheels in the rear, and it's extremely hard to drive even remotely fast. Really strange for a car that was so highly regarded, and endorsed by Senna himself. (in a game that focuses heavily on him)

@super_gt has some videos of the NSX that will show you that's how the car handled in real life....he'll be along shortly:lol:

Only the '91 NSX or all of them? I don't think I've tried that one but I've tried some of the others, and they're more or less as I'd expect them to be. MR sports cars handle very differently to anything else. It's a whole different experience learning to drive them fast, but when you do you'll understand why they're so prevalent in motorsport.

To start, they're far more stable with a bit of throttle on. Try and always keep a bit of power going, even just a little. It settles the rear. To put it simply, off throttle = oversteer, on throttle = grip.

I know right? I won't be bothering with GT7 either if it doesn't get a major overhaul, which I doubt because standard cars are coming back, making GT7 a GT5.6....
Sadly, I think you're on the money Toko, I can not see them making any major adjustments/overhauls now they have admitted that "standards" are still going to be included. :indiff:
Not that I don't like some of the standards, I just feel a new game on the NEXT platform deserves better. :(
And as some have pointed out, IF GT6 was scaled back (quality wise) to run on PS3, then it can ONLY improve graphically in my opinion, game play will not get any better. 👎
I'm waiting to get Grid Auto, have watched a few videos and it looks promising, though I'm not sure I like their button options/set-ups. I didn't like it on earlier Grid games. 👎
If they have more adjust-ability (accelerate, brake, steer etc. ) I will go for it. :) I still use the DS3. :)

The Stig Farmer
Why do you need tissues? Grid is a thousand times better than GT6.
Can you give an indication of the controls please?
Still being a DS3 user, I don't like using the R or L buttons for accel., braking etc... :nervous:
I'm much happier (more confident) using the left/right steering and X, Square etc.. 👍

With the wheel you can custom map all the buttons, I would assume the DS3 is no different.

As I mentioned last Friday, I just got Grid Autosport. (so sad to eject my GT6 disk)
The COTA track is great on it. I've had GT6 fans over just to run COTA! (we live about an hour from COTA so it's popular around here) The graphics are kinda GT4 level but the damage to the cars is great. The AI cars are very aggressive and that's on "medium" which is adjustable. I've only had it for a few days but I think it will be very entertaining for $50. At least I didn't have to buy a PS4 and my Driving Force wheel works fine on it. WARNING: Don't get shook up when the wheel doesn't center on start-up. It will wake up when the race starts.
Since this is a GT6 forum, that's all I'm going to say about it here.

COTA is a great track!!! I wasn't sure I'd like it either but it is great fun to drive and the shorter versions of it are all great too. I hope it makes it to the GT series and PCars it would be an excellent addition. Turns 1-9 and 14-16 are simply fantastic. 👍
