Greedy? How about asking me to invest half a thousand euros on a new console in order to enjoy the one game I care about? Now, that's what I would call greedy. Expecting your customers to pay 60 euros is stupid but expecting them to pay 560 is smart? I don't get it.

Not everyone will be willing to jump on the new console when it's released, many won't do it at all. When the PS3 was released, the PS2 was alive and very well for the first year or so and got great games like GoW 2 that sold quite well. I don't like jumping on new platforms early, I'd rather wait a couple of years to see how things are going and GT6 will be the perfect game for that. I trust I'm not alone on this.

Of course you're not alone. I'm also unsure whether the time is right to upgrade to next-gen. The PS3 still has plenty of life in it yet for at least until around late 2015.

Nope, you're not alone at all. Don't worry though, they're going to be very surprised what's to come at them, just watch and you'll see. They may not even be around once it hits them hard. 👍

I'm sorry, but I have to post this.

I'm finding it rather sad on how people are already complaining about a game that hasn't even been released, let alone has an even confirmed release date (The only confirmed release is a Demo, due for July).

First of all, Gran Turismo 6 upon it's announcement, already seemed like a surefire cash in to be on PS3 and not the upcoming PS4. Why? Simple, PD had been developing GT6 shortly after GT5 was released THREE YEARS AGO. This was well before the PS4 was even in a proper development, and no known dev kit for the PS4 properly existed back then. Not to mention, PD has had a tradition of having 2 Gran Turismos per Playstation (Gran Tuismo 1 and 2 on Playstation, Gran Turismo 3 and 4 on Playstation 2, and Gran Turismo 5 and now 6 on Playstation 3). Whilst I'm sure many of us (myself included) Would prefer GT6 on the PS3, it makes more sense to place it on the PS3 as a way to give the console a final swan-song before moving to the PS4 full time.

Second, it's rather quite impossible with the PS3's limited, outdated hardware to properly obtain 1200 Premium Cars all on one disc for the cars. Whilst I believe they could've done a GT2 where they seperated both the Arcade and Gran Turismo modes away from each other, it still shows that the PS3 is at a time where it's aging hardware is now starting to show, and though it means we won't see all Premium Cars, to see 200 new additions to the roster plus an improved Standard Model lineup (in terms of Graphics) is a nice addition to my opinion.

3rd, I can't go one day without seeing someone complaining about the sound. I don't know a single game that gets sound proper. Sure they can get close, but I've never played a racing game that properly gets the engine note of a car completely 100% accurate. The people who are already complaining about the sound, keep in mind that the only gameplay videos that are around right now are of fans who used external sources to record footage, thus distorting the sound? Not to mention, the game's currently not in a final release state, so there could be some changes along the way. For example, Gran Turismo 2's sounds were heavily revamped in the final release compared to earlier demo builds.

I've grown up and the series and will still continue to try out each iteration since I'm always intrigued to see what they do with each release. Gran Turismo 5 had many disappointing things about it, so I'm curious to see what they improve with GT6.

I'm not sure where people get that impression from. Disc space is the last issue when it comes to premium cars. It's more about limited time, personel and obtaining the cars needed. Also, the PS4 uses the same format.

It's just how I initially imagine the case to be, but your theory could be accurate as well. I stated my reason due to all the other content needed such as the coding, menus, music, tracks, and all of that other stuff.

Well at least PD should try to get close, instead of doing nothing, but I agree with the other stuff he says, GT6 with with all the cars premium was something that is impossible for the ps3 capabilities, was GT6 was already being developed in 2010

The thing is, you can have like 50-100gb on a blu ray disc which is an insane amount of space. Not to mention you can ship two discs and have the second as an install at a worst case scenario. A high quality car with custom textures is probably less than 100mb. Also try and remember the GT academy demo we got before GT5. It was about 300mbs and included two cars and a track. Space has never really been an issue with the PS3.

Please elaborate. If the PS3 can do *insert actual number of (P) cars* , what exactly is stopping it in terms of hardware limitations from doing more?

It's like I mentioned in the post, where they could do a Gran Turismo 2 and seperate the games onto two discs. However, to have an Install Disc as similar to what's been seen in the recent Forza titles would also be a welcomed addition to me.

This is not an accurate statement. The limit of the number of (P) cars was simply time and access to the cars needed.

There are never more than 16 cars on the track, the number of additional cars is not a big issue. In theory they could have all the cars as (p) models and add that many more and the game would still work on the PS3. It would just take a bit more disk space and perhaps slow down some loading times a bit.

In fact it there was enough disk space they could add a million or more (p) cars on the PS3

Maybe all the tracks, and the quality of the premium cars, I don't think GT5 can't make all those cars premium on the ps3 or MAYBE they could do to the standards the same thing they did in GTHD, all the cars with great detail outside but without a cockpit view/ with a black cockpit view.

Or maybe they could make all those cars premium in GT5 but they didn't had the time to do it, like Kaz said, although PD should had give more priority to cars like the bugatti veyron, Group C cars, WRC cars and other great cars in general.

Just my opinion.

Ok my mistake.

GT5 didn't even fill out a single blueray, not even close. It only used about 1/3 of the storage.
You do not need a separate install disc, GT5 already installs the biggest part of the game on the HDD if you choose the option.

Forza needed a second disc because they use simple DVD, DVDs which have only bout 10% of the storage volume of a blueray disc.

I'm sorry, but your statement about hardware limitating the number of premiums is ridiculous.

I never really played GTHD, can you show me some of those better looking standards?
I'd really like to see this.

I'm not sure how these qualify as "standard". Looks like the Prologue selection with a couple of cars that didn't make it into the final game.

I think he means that maybe PD could make the standard cars look this well-detailed.

Seeing as how GTHD's car models are constructed the same way as GT5's Premiums, that's unlikely. Standards will always be bound to the limitations of the single-shape (minus wings and spoilers) design; unless PD really has had time to replace them all with Premium-like models - which they haven't.

Well, that's disappointing.
