So then what is the point of of coming back here and still complaining about it?

Not wanting to speak for others too much because they'll have their own reasons, but I grew up with GT. GT1 was one of only two games I owned on PS1, and I played it to death.

I'd love to see GT return to the greatness that it showed in those days. I might not be buying GT6, but I'll be here until GT is great again or one of us dies.

Just because your friend turned into a weird hippie shut-in who spends his day making moonshine and talking to squirrels doesn't mean you give up on them. You wait, you say hi to them every now again, and you hope that one day they'll sort their life out and the two of you can be friends again.

Because I've been a contributing member of this site for over a decade and put more hours into the GT series than I care to think about.

This will be the first GT that I will not buy at go-live, that however doesn't mean I will not pick it up later (possibly second hand), nor does it mean that I have nothing to say or contribute.

As such plenty of point exists in me coming here to discuss it!

I know, you have repeated that many times since GT6 wasn't even presented. :)
And?
Does the AUP contain a limit on the number of times a point can be made?

At times I ask me what do you want in GT, it seems that you add new things to the list when others are acomplished. I didn't know the sounds were one of your purchase priorities, instead I remember to read something about suspension and tyres.
My purchasing priorities are many and varied and while audio is not one of the highest on the list its still present, and I certainly have discussed it here (GT Planet) before. I wasn't however aware that I needed to make you aware of all of them? Could you let me know when that became part of the posting requirements.

I could bet that you will not leave the "versus" threads alone for much time, nor play FM4 forever. ;)
Why should I?

To be blunt I have no idea why you are even posting this and what you aim to achieve by it, but to be blunt I don't answer to you and if you continue down this aggressive and demanding posting route then a formal warning is heading your way.

I see where you are coming from. I never put much value into what are just objects such as a game in our case so I will jump ship if something better comes along. Too bad for me that nothing better has (I won't go into why I hate other games because all that does is start flame wars in this forum). So I keep checking this site in the hope of good news but get disappointed every time.

I'm not trying to say one should not discuss the game if they aren't going to buy it. Hell I find myself doing just that right now.

The point I want to make is that PD does not care about what we have to say. They will only care if none of us buy GT6. Sadly there are too many that will hand over their money without a second though. Some already have in pre orders.

So apart from venting to one another since we share the same concerns, what is the point?

On that grounds a significant percentage of human communication has no point!

We do it because to converse and discuss is a healthy and worthwhile pursuit, this is a discussion forum after all.

I haven't enjoyed a Gran Turismo game since GT3, but that game was an integral part of the years when I became old enough to have a license, and kickstarted my pursuit of knowledge about cars and everything I know now, with GT's detailed specification boxes. I already followed your advice years ago, albteman015 -- eventually picking up an Xbox 360 in the wake of GT4's agonizingly un-fun driving experience -- but I'm still here. In spite of its faults, there's some truth to Gran Turismo being a "special" game, and I hold a bit of hope that someday the actual gameplay experience will once again provide a solid foundation beneath that.

There is a small amount of logic in doing what we do here. As an individual, not buying the game won't make an impact in sales, but making a case about the problematic aspects of the game encourages critical discussion that could lead other individuals to reconsider their own viewpoint. The end goal is the same as the advice you gave -- if it's not good enough, we shouldn't buy it (or don't buy it new).

How's the "new" tyre model?
Better than GT5. :D

I hope to read some reports soon from the TGS now that the demos will be playable with an updated physics model since the GTA.

And?

I have not reported you! I was just pointing that is a not surprise to me that you said that and the motive is because you have decided to bring your personal decision to don't purchase GT6 to the conversation.

No posting requirements, are just some thoughts about your public exposure regarding your GT6 purchase decision. Does the AUP don't allow comments about members decisions posted in the forum?

I said because I have read that you are not going to upgrade to a new console to play Forza5 and that with your conviction to not purchase GT6 in day one would make FM4 your main option being a game that you love and enjoy, contrary to your GT5 deception. Also is not a secret that you participate (and I guess enjoy) a lot in the Vs threads so the absence of GT6 and FM5 would leave you out of most of the discussions in those threads, so my wink. Nothing obscure or agressive that would need a defensive posture!

Just to make sure, I'm not allowed to discuss or comment your own points? I was going to ask something, but maybe you don't like it and in before the warning better to know.

Then you need to read a little more carefully. I have not said that I 100% will not buy GT6 at launch, but that news like this reduces the chance.

Nor does how frequently (or not) I may have discussed that have any bearing on it at all.

Your original post was clearly written to imply that as soon as PD fix something I come up with a 'new' reason to be negative about it. A statement that is not even close to correct and not the first time you have attempted to twist the meaning of my posts.

Again implying that I have 100% made a decision on this. Something that is not correct.

However you are right in one area, if I don't own a title then I don't pass comment on its accuracy, something you would do well to learn from.

Then ask the question rather than attempting to make out I hold positions I don't (as its that which will lead to the warning particularly as you have been asked not to do it on a number of occasions).

I'd really want at least a prologue being worked on for PS4 right now (assuming there isn't). GT4 was done in 2005 (EU), they went to work on releasing GT HD and prologue for PS3 in 2006 2007.

Would give me some reason to buy a PS4 sooner.

GT6 timing is a bit of a weird one for me. After 7-8 years of PS3 I'm ready to move on. The GT5 tough dev time and late launch, PD getting the best they could out of the system and finally patching it to a decent state seems very recent, exhausting and not something I want to go back to. Not sure what PD can do to improve things that much.

Sums up a lot for me as well, however I do intend getting a PS4 at launch and as such Driveclub, while no sim, will keep me entertained driving wise for a while.

I will be keeping my PS3, as PS Plus has provided me with more than enough games for it to be a bed room system (and a NAS drive streamer), and while I may or pick GT6 up at launch I may puck it up when the price drops (if I feel PD deserve the income) or second hand (if I feel they don't).

As for my 360 and games? That will get PX'd to help find the PS4.

Although the purpose of this visit was not to announce anything new about GT6, EuroGamer did confirm that there will be no changes or improvements to clutch response on wheels which support the third pedal.

Thanks PD. It's going to be so awesome to try to avoid getting stuck in neutral yet again. Totally won't ruin my immersion if I don't put the clutch all the way to the floor.

FFS, please make the clutch better in an update.

Just need something to whine about, it's early..

I'm gonna suggest that that isn't something I'd be whining about here...lol:sly:

The car list - I have never been so disappointed in a game before in my life.

Only 100 new cars? Still no Ferrari F50? No Toyota TS030? Only one standard GT5 LMP1 car gets a premium treatment (Bentley Speed 8)? No Ferrari 355 or 360? Still no premium GT LeMans cars?

I mean, dang, they didnt even bother to make the Formula GT premium.

Im so disappointed right now. And to think I actually started to look forward to this game after preordering it. Who knows what other horrors they are hiding. Man I am almost mad.

I forgot about the Formula GT. Given that the Ferrari cars seem to be gone it is baffling they still haven't updated that. Unless they have and it's just not denoted as such.

Yeah doubt it's a complete one, there is still the new Mercs the Acura NSX and the mystery cars that we scanned.

I would like to whine about the lack of announcment regarding Livery Editor,SOund and A.I

it seems we won't be getting any of those which is a massive massive let down.

Well, the paint chips system is returning. Didn't expect any change there, but still a let down nonetheless. Oh well, I'll get over it.
In addition to car body paint supplied in the colour of the cars you have acquired, in the future there will also be special paint items that will be distributed in online events. In addition, it is also possible to paint wheels purchased in custom parts.

Agreed. While I absolutely love the addition of the many new cars never seen in Gran Turismo, the absence of others is a huge dissapointment.

Time for my own brand of whining. Y U NO HAVE LFA NUR PD???

We're still missing a few machines, but the car list has most certainly improved over every other GT to date.

Some really good cars added, but yea, still waiting for a premium RUF, Koenigsegg, etc, among many more.

The cars they did add or made premium are pretty much solid top to bottom, outside of a few hiccups like the '05 Ford GT. I have to give them props for that. But its the tiny number that really hurts it. There needed to be at least 150 new premium models to really upgrade the experience, preferably even 200. They needed 150-200 to really catch up with the competition. After looking at this car list they've gained ground, but they've only gone from 3 miles behind to 2 miles behind.

It will still probably be a good game...but its obvious now PD needs to hire more employees

Oh another thing I groaned at when I got to it:

Autumn Ring Mini in the Sunday Cup. How original. We've been doing this since GT1 Kaz, most of us are no longer novices that need to do the same events in every game to learn. It doesn't make me confident on the rest of the career.

Also the star system sounds like a new version of XP to me.

What competition? Oh the evil F game? Oh wait, that one is going to have less cars than the previous one...

They most likely didn't even show all cars, some cars like the announced Mercedes are still missing. They also mention over 1200 cars. So far we haven't seen over 1200.

Yeah, I'm a bit curious about that one, too... could be essentially the same thing for all we know!

It certainly sounds like it, needing x amount of stars to unlock things rather than XP. Well if it is hopefully at least they negate any need to grind, if the numbers of stars always add up that there is one new race to do. Not like the XP where at a certain point nothing new unlocked until you did the same races over and over because of a huge gap.
