I reckon that falls under the number board colour allowance :D
Then the instructions should be clearer?

Number board and car license are quite different things. There would have been many ways to express the rules so that it included other stuff too. In the rules of competition 19 was about using solid colors only. Then there was a mustang that had pretty shiny silver on the body. Fair to others? Of course it could be technically correct, as the game has solid paints in many different shades and other variants to just white and black, even "silverish" kind ones.

Maybe in some tasks there should be mentioned what paint was used if any? Even i was thinking of using silver white now in this task to stand out but thought it would be too cheeky against the others that follow their perseption of the rules.

To sum up, the instructions should be clear anyway you look at them. Have more examples to make it clear, it saves in design time. Like the newest task was clear from the start. Did not have so many restrictions and also was super fun to do.

Had the formula ready from an earlier task that i did not participate in. Made a new version using only black & white and slapped some red on the board. Had done Mini Cooper S and an Aston Martin also, hope this was the right one to send.

Fair point, that one shouldn't have been allowed. But everyone is always entitled to call other entries out and tbh in the last few weeks this whole thing was always a last-minute-job for me as I had very little motivation and time to do anything :ouch:

Exactly, we had competitions that stated that no replicas should be entered and yet they did (and won).

If you see a rule violation, speak up. It’s counterproductive to raise an issue after the fact. I have never seen anyone get mad about needing to correct something for entry.
I have, but that's because they initially got the entry incorrectly formatted, then reformatted almost correctly, then finally formatted correctly, then called out on a couple of the fundamentals... But that's just negligence - the rules are there and the guidance is fairly clear how to post...

However, you're 100% correct. If it ain't right, don't wait until it's too late to change anything before letting people know. It's poor sportsmanship to complain and protest against an action after the match has played.

And it's an issue of revisting old themes set by members who are no longer active here since usually the person who submitted the theme is the main person to decide if an entry matches the rules or not.

I think it's important to consider what was meant in the spirit of the theme, rather than rigid adherence to the first post.

My entry (likely to not be finished in time), is supposed to be an alternate livery for a car that raced in 2010. Even though the livery and the design will just be black and white, it needs a German flag on the bonnet along side the number boards, and class stickers. It's clearly not an attempt to circumvent the rules or improve the design by flaunting the rules, but would be required for the livery to look authentic - it's in the spirit of the theme, even if it's not technically within the rules.

Anyway, as has been pointed out, questioning something is fair enough, but it needs to be done in enough time to sort out, and if something makes it to the poll you don't think is valid, then of course don't vote for it.

Since we're talking about rules. I'm pretty sure there's still image manipulation going on with some entries (when I say I'm pretty sure, I mean I have a technique that I've not been able to demonstrate is falsifiable, so some definitely are)... that's about keeping a level playing field and people should keep it in mind.

Just to be clear, I was not complaining (if I was, I would care to post a link and whine about it). Just gave an example.

About rules, I think they are important and limits are there to set a theme as much as to pose as a challenge. In the end, the proponent is the judge of what is or not allowed.

FINAL ENTRY
“Shelby Centennial” Ford GT
- PS4 base -

Having read this my choice was clear: The “Shelby Centennial” Ford GT

Racing icon, team manager and car manufacturer Carroll Shelby to be celebrated at 2023 Goodwood Revival
On 11 January 2023 – on what would have been Carroll Shelby’s 100th birthday, Goodwood announced that the legendary American driver, car manufacturer and entrepreneur will be celebrated at this year’s Goodwood Revival, over the weekend of 8-10 September 2023.
The centenary of Shelby’s birth will be honoured with one of Goodwood’s signature tributes, comprising cars that were not only raced, but also designed and developed by the 1959 Le Mans winner. Running across the weekend, the celebration will include the likes of the MG-TC in which Shelby competed for the very first time, in 1952.
Shelby’s impact on motor racing can be seen each and every year at the Revival, and 2023 will be no different, as an assortment of Cobras – the Anglo-American sports cars for which he is best known – are set to take to the track in the all-star Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration. Meanwhile, the Whitsun Trophy will host a number of examples of the Ford GT40, whose design Shelby played such an integral part in refining.

@Sira-Sir8ght please read the rules again regarding how you images have to be posted.
Thanks :)

I'm sorry but I thought I followed the rules as I did for the previous contest 😬

Maybe I did something different or I didn't understand something (translation problem)...

Can you tell me what is wrong please?

Images are way too big and attached to the post, not uploaded to the GTP media section. There are instructions how to correctly do it linked in the introduction post as well as in a separate thread in the livery section.

My bad, thanks for your time and help.
I did upload the pics, but I certainly did something different...

Unfortunately, I am not sure to be able to make it correctly before the deadline.
I'll try but... 😐

You did Step 1 correctly, but then got it wrong I reckon.
Follow Step 2 and onwards:

Thanks, I will try from home after work, no access unless by smartphone 😬

I saw yesterday that the deadline was today, so I rush and made mistakes...

FINAL ENTRY

Boss B&W SLS AMG DTM

PS4 Standard
A bit of a "What if...?" livery, where I thought: "What if Mercedes and AMG entered the SLS AMG into the DTM and Hugo Boss jumped on board as a title sponsor?" I wanted to bring some mild Sonax 190E vibes, while retaining a load of the sponsors from their 2010 cars. I've kept it purposely simple, to reflect the AMG cars entered into the 2010 series, and to reflect the design philosophy of Hugo Boss.
