That sounds awfully like the police excuse of "we'd never get anything done if we had to follow the rules all the time".

Nobody cared about mail-in voting until during the pandemic Trump realized that mostly it was his voters who disregarded covid and would show up in person.

This is why we can't have nice things. Trump wanted to attack mail-in voting once to win an election during a pandemic, and now it's forever a GOP punching bag. To make that clear, the president of the united states, during a pandemic, wanted to force people to go out and vote in person, instead of the opposite, knowing that it would spread the pandemic, because he knew it would likely benefit his chance of re-election.

My guess is if he wins in 2024 these lawsuits will have to be thrown out for voter fraud? Also the Democrats should enforce somehow that the 2 term limit for presidency cannot be overturned. Sadly, they will do absolutely nothing.

To do something... anything, you need 60 votes in the senate, or to overturn the filibuster. Neither of those is going to happen.

Basically 2 people are stopping all of it.

Democrats in 2024 need to ensure they do not get hit so badly to the point where they don't even have 40 seats. If that happens.... well, the Democrat party might be gone for good.

I don't think the 40 seat thing matters to the tune of 40 seats. The republicans can and will suspend the filibuster with a simple majority (and they have in the past). The republicans came within 2 seats, not 10, of losing filibuster protection for this term. 51 or 52 seats might be enough to bypass the filibuster for republicans.

That won't matter unless they take the house and executive.

Here are the scenarios for 2024:

Non-Trump Republican wins the whitehouse
Republicans win majority in senate
Democrats keep majority in the house
---------------------------------
Not a recipe for total disaster

Non-Trump Republican wins the whitehouse
Democrats keep majority in senate
Republicans win majority in the house
---------------------------------
Not a recipe for total disaster

Non-Trump Republican wins the whitehouse
Democrats keep majority in senate
Democrats keep majority in the house
---------------------------------
Not a recipe for total disaster

Non-Trump Republican wins the whitehouse
Republicans win majority in the senate
Republicans win majority in the house
-----------------------------------
You're gonna see some nasty stuff come down in this case. Federal abortion ban, federal ban on mail-in voting, awful treatment of immigrants, especially illegal immigrants, no gay marriage, destruction of social media, etc.

Democrat wins the whitehouse
Republicans win majority in the senate
Republicans win majority in the house
----------------------------------
Not a recipe for total disaster

Democrat wins the whitehouse
Republicans win majority in the senate
Democrats win majority in the house
----------------------------------
Not a recipe for total disaster

Democrat wins the whitehouse
Democrats win majority in the senate
Democrats win majority in the house
----------------------------------
Possibly the country can mend the cracks caused by the coup. The majority in the senate needs to be larger than today though.

Democrat wins the whitehouse
Democrats win majority in the senate
Republicans win majority in the house
----------------------------------
Not a recipe for total disaster

Trump wins the whitehouse
Either Democrats or Republicans have majority in the Senate
Either Democrats or Republicans have majority in the house
----------------------------------
Likely coup, and the end of the republic

I know you're all dying to find out what's happening with the Lindell counterclaim against Dominion and Smartmatic...
"For those who care about such things, Judge Nichols clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court and was appointed to the federal bench by Donald Trump in 2019."

The democratic process in the US continues to hang on by the fingernails.

How? Part of a good system of laws is that laws can be changed if it's decided that they need to be. That means that even "obviously good" laws need to be accessible for change, even though they shouldn't be.

If laws start getting locked in in a way that it's impossible to change, that's a slippery slope. It's already unfortunate that it seems that there's very little appetite for any more constitutional amendments.

The saddest thing is that there may be some truth to his defence and that this racist little **** is too stupid to live. Either way... break out the orchestra of miniature stringed instruments. He'll have plenty of time to reconsider his life choices while removed from society. Maybe it's the right's job to give this sucker succour. It certainly isn't mine.

I bet that dude did nazi that coming and probably thinks the verdict is inführeriating.
Sounds like you're on the reich track. If he wants leniency, he may have to sieg it elsewhere.
