I've had mine for 6 years :D Doesn't really show any signs of not wanting to rev to 8,000rpm any more - though I need "a" new downpipe which requires a remortgage.

They're about as bad. Sadly - though beautifully - the K8 engine was designed in conjunction with the MX-3 (and then all the other V6s in the range were based on it). So it means eveything was crammed into there with nary an inch to spare. And the exhaust system from manifold to cat is... bendy.

I'm still waiting for that reply to my questions mPWRD and since you've already been on today I am going to assume that you keep ignoring my questions because you simply CAN'T answer my questions which are perfectly simple and valid.

I mean you say you've worked on everything from old stangs and C6 Vettes............where, in your mind?? And what parts have you worked on.......replacing a blown fuse isn't really classed as working on a car you know. ;)

So, until I hear a reply, I'm joining the "You're a dreamer" bandwagon because to me it seems like you're blowing that much out of your mouth that you could power a freaking hot-air balloon with it!!

1. Rather than the what's your background on design etc., have you done any car modification in any area with any other car before?? I'm not talking about this current car you're using as a guinea pig, but have you worked on other motors, other cars??

First of all, this is weird. I swear I answered your questions... damn computer... sorry. Anyway.... since i was 16 i have been "flipping" cars... buying, modding, selling for a profit. I've worked my way up from an Escort to an E36 M3. And the mods haven't been superficial. For a couple of them, I installed a turbo system (not a kit, I had to have someone make some of the parts). Earlier, I said I had 3 BMW 3.0 engines, right? Guess where I got them... Yep. I've done engine swaps too.

2. Do you have a rough goal of what is required to do such speeds....ie. Cd Figures, power & torque estimates, weight, etc. and have you looked at others have attempted to do the same as what you're proposing??

First of all, let me clarify. I am not attempting to break any speed records. Honestly, when will you use 250 mph? Aside from top speed testing and bragging rights, never. 210-220 mph top speed is good enough for me. My goal is just to make this the best car that exists until you hit 220 mph. I know how much power and torque I will need (around 900 hp and 850 lb-ft.) and I have an idea of how to squeeze that out of an N73. As for the other numbers, I don't really know. I have looked at other existing competitors, taken some ideas from them...

I'll show you what someone here in Australia is doing, his name is Matt Thomas. Now this car he is building has been a proven 11.5sec car down the 1/4 mile in prototype form in Victoria. It's moving into production phase now and it's taken the guy just on 10yrs to get to this point. Just to show that it's not impossible but that motor in this car is his own, designed and built from scratch, unlike your concept which is basically a welding of two current motors. Look at the stats and the weight.

I did hear about the Joss Supercar and I heard Matt Thomas's story... but I've given up on the custom engine for now...

Good luck anyway.

Thanks!

Further, how in hell are you managing to modify cars then flip them at a profit?

Around here you can never, ever get your money back out unless you've managed to make the world's most deadly quick-bracket car ever for five grand.

Here is a picture of the car when I first bought it...

Looks nice, but here's the engine bay before I got to it...
bmw-parts-breaking-ph-crash2258_web_image.jpg

and right now it's disemboweled in my garage...

@Rotary Junkie: I don't do trade-ins. Around here, there's always a market for modified cars, especially among young teenagers. I look for cars that have appeal but that are in terrible condition. A bulk of the work goes into restoring the car, cleaning the engine... as mentioned before, I put a little bit of extra cash into a turbo for a couple of the cars. It was a bit hard... I've sold a couple of cars without making a profit, but $500-1K max is usually how much I make off one of these. Sometimes, I sold these cars to some 16 or 17-year-old looking for a first car to impress his friends, but I just might keep this M3 for myself... we'll see.

So you bought a car that looks like it's in great condition but has an engine bay from a car that was in a crash?

Makes perfect sense...

Wow, you are setting your sights up high aren't you. I'm not trying to say you can't because you can if you have the determination but I wouldn't expect this kind of project to be done in a couple years. If I were you I would do some other projects first. Buy a kit car to get started(basic mechanics of putting a car together), than maybe go to a junkyard and find an old muscle car to restore(to get some hands on experience at bodywork and what not). Or you could just try to get started in tuning, a lot of people have become famous for taking an existing car and making it awesome(Carol Shelby anyone). He didn't even make his own car from scratch until the Series 1 in 1998 and even then it was powered by an Oldsmobile L47 engine.

I don't mean to make it seem like I am saying you can't do it, but right now it seems you are still at the starting line in this process, you have changes some things and that's fine. But it will be hard to get much help without a definite plan on what the car will be.

Anyways, that's all I have to say, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Mate we ain't THAT stupid. I love how they're two completely different hosting sites and two different cars.

If you had used, hmm, i dunno...
EngineBay2.jpg
as the engine bay shot it would've been more believable.

Foiled.

That green M3 is owned by a certain Christopher. G.P.
I don't think that is you mPWRD

And as pointed out, the engine bay pic is from a different site and the colour does not even match.

No, that is not the car... I don't have any pictures of the m3 from before, that's what it looked like. Same green color, everything.

As for the engine bay, that really is it. I had to scrape off the green paint because it was chipping all over.

Can't put anything past people these days... especially when they're out to get you :P

Bull. [Rhymes with ducking]. [rhymes with wit].

You already said that it was a PICTURE OF THE CAR WHEN YOU FIRST BOUGHT IT. Further that's beige or dirty white paint not bare metal in the second pic.

Edit: And further, I'm sure you're connected with a shop that appears to be in the U.K... Right.

now now kids, play nice.. who are you to tell what he can do and can't do? and if you're so determined to check his story, go over to his place and verify it. or then, he could take couple pics with usual "hello GTP" paper notes.. anyhow, the way you guys are dealing with this is childish and almost looks like you guys are envious attention hogs.. who knows, maybe in about 10 years there will be a new supercar like the one he plans to build. there's no need to get hostile.

We aren't beating them down, we are pointing out obvious flaws in his plan. There is a difference, beating someone down would just be us saying he can't do it because he can't. So far we have been telling him that certain things are wrong, which is more constructive criticism than anything else.

He posted a thread here. Its all fair play.
If he is legitimate, then why is he lying? Come on, if he is as real as he said, he can just post his car up with all the glory of his 3 M engines side by side.
That way, he will gain respect and there will be no more of this nonsense.

You are the childish one here thinking we are attention hogs. It is obvious who is and who isn't!

Like; where do you put the injector for your Direct Injected engine if you have 5 valves per cylinder?

Sounds like a 13 year olds technological masturbation of what they would like to do in a car.
mPWRD
1.It has the performance potential of a Veyron with the usability and practicality of an F430.
2. A custom-built engine (i cannot release specs yet) with electric motor assist
amongst other things.

Then just one page back he states

The whole thing is a little off; let me put it this way; if it looks like bullpoop, and walks like bullpoop, and smells like bullpoop, and quacks like bull poop would, it ain't no duck.

Whatever. This thread is going nowhere. I'm going to have one of the mods close it.

For all of you out there who are not unambitious morons, please pm me if you are interested. I am still going to go through with this, regardless of how my plans change.

:lol::lol::lol:.....you're a funny guy.

Yeah, how about that shot of your M3 and BMW motors? Need a timestamped piece of paper with your username and GTPlanet on it. Otherwise, I've lost faith in you.

You call us names when you weren't even serious about the thread in the first place? You can't be serious.

Calling names? You just renamed mPWRD as m5 - who I think was someone who was banned from the site. Is there any evidence for this or are you trying to cause more trouble?

(sorry if I missed something)
