Was just about to say this too! 2014 looks like its going to be an incredible year for sports cars, not only with Porsche coming back but with the added publicity Mark Webber will hopefully bring with him!

Oh man, and I'm sure this is just the beginning of the awesome news that'll come about in the next few months for Le Mans. What a beauty.

I was considering not going next year but that thought may have changed now. I'm really hoping LMP1 will get a nice boost in numbers. I was looking at my 2006 spotters guide last night and it used to have such higher numbers than more recent years.

Yeah... it's sad but this automatically turned me into a huge, HUGE, Porsche supporter. Wow, bring the pom-poms out, go Stuttgart!

So does this mean the driver line up for the Porsche LMP1 car will be Timo Bernard, Romain Dumas, and Mark Webber? They will win if they put that combo together. new favorite team.

Assuming two cars they now have four drivers including Jani.

That means two more. Probably one of those being Heldfield, no idea about the other one so anyones guess how they put them together.

I'm assuming it'll be Dumas and Bernhard in one car, and Webber and Jani with the possibility of Heidfeld in the other, so maybe Lucas Luhr?

Not a bad idea. Luhr has partnered with Dumas in a Spyder RS and with Bernhard at the N24 so might be a good fit.

That leaves Webber, Heidfeld and Jani in the other car.

I predict success for Porsche. I almost feel sorry for Audi :sly:

I could only be more excited for this if they announced Schumi in their line-up. :D

I suspect Audi will be just fine.

Same here. Even if Webber is a great driver, he doesnt have much experience with traffic and stuff like that. I know he already did endurance but it was another time, now it's much different, car are much closer so it's harder to overtake etc.. And I'm not even taking into account the fact that the Audi are super reliable and it's quite hard to get the balance they have with reliability and speed.

Reliable, and yet they had an alternator failure. Not saying you're wrong, but what I am saying is things happen. Porsche has as good a chance as Audi to get a good, clean run.

Well, they don't have CVC leeching off of the profits AFAIK.

Mark Webber, welcome back to the world of sport car endurance! And I have a feeling that 2014 is gonna be a wild season for the WEC and Le Mans! :D

Come on Porsche!!!! Dang, now I'll be rooting for nearly everyone next year.

I don't, Toyota and Porsche competition mantra is different. Porsche feel they need to win from day one, and with Norbert as head of BOP...I wouldn't be so sure as you guys seem to be. Toyota on the other hand didn't think they had much chance to win and finishing was the plan for 2012, this year was obviously a bigger plan and next year will be the same as this year just more intense of how to get the win.

When Porsche won with the new 991 RSR I honestly wasn't surprised. They have vast experience and designed parts with a definite lifespan in their older cars. That plus the experience on the outfit running the cars sealed the deal.

I suspect it will be the same case with their new LMP1 car IMO. Driver lineup is strong too.
