The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

I just wish I could watch his new show now..

It is also on Discovery at 10 PM and midnight..

Here it is DiscoveryHD.

It is replayed a lot on Velocity but not on Discovery.

Episode 2 is called "The Money Burn" :sly:

First episode was pretty decent, good to see stuff like this aired prime-time'ish on this side of the Atlantic.

Did anyone end up setting their DVR for the Dempsey documentary? Is an upload possible? :)

I have it DVR'd, but I have U-Verse and don't think there's a way to move it to a PC without some type of video capture hardware (which I don't have). I checked my usual source for movies and tv shows and don't see it, yet. I'll keep an eye out for ya, though.

So then FP1,Toyota ahead by 0.8 from Audi no.1 and 1.1 from no.2,Rebellion 3.6 seconds off the fastest time, the 2 OAK Morgans top LMP2,no.24 ahead of 35.

In GTE Pro,Aston no.97 half a second clear of Porsche no.92,GTE AM was a Aston 1-2,95 ahead of 96.

Only 4 LMP1s,seems Rebellion might get a podium if 1 of the frontrunners fail to finish. In essense this is 3 way fight.

One of Australia's current Motorsports legends, Craig Lowndes, eyeing a seat http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/08/28/craig-lowndes-planning-2014-le-mans-tilt/

The Le Mans event is guaranteed to receive an unprecedented level of exposure in Australia next year with Mark Webber confirmed to make his return to the race as part of Porsche’s new-for-2014 World Endurance Championship effort.
In order for Lowndes to race, he’ll need V8 Supercars to avoid scheduling events on the June 14-15 (race) and June 1 (official test) dates.
“I’ve had ambitions of doing Le Mans since my HRT days but have just never been able to do it,” Lowndes told Speedcafe.com.

Jason Bright’s 8Star entry leads a host of GT cars down the front straight at Le Mans, 2013
“We’re definitely planning on it next year. I’ve spoken to Roland (Dane, Red Bull Racing Australia owner) and he knows my wishes and everything else, but now we’re really just waiting to see what the calendar looks like.

Is an upload possible? :)

I have no way of posting it either.

You could catch episodes at the Velocity home page.
They are short, with commercials, but you could watch them individually and maybe catch the whole show.
It should be about 40 minutes of actual show time.

ALMS from Baltimore is on today at 3:45 Eastern time. Should be a good race. Dyson and Smith are back in the Dyson #16.

Trying to watch this on mobile and unsurprisingly, its crappy :grumpy:

I will never understand FK's enthusiasm for this, I just can't see it. Yeah TV has issue like this and that, but at least (when you don't have AT&T that is) you don't have to worry about an internet connection for your channel to work. That and right now, it still has commercials like television does so I still see (other then discovering the race you can't find in the US) no upside.

Edit: And to make things more enfuriating, my internet is excellent. It loads quick, works great. So it really pisses me off when the quality goes to hell on my mobile devices and even on my laptop.

Edit 2: Are you 🤬 me? What kind of start is that?

I feel that, dynamically, a long nose probably isnt helpful on a small street course. I didn't really rate them with a shot at the podium. But now...

All 3 Porsche's out. What a shame...

All this does is further validate why this track should not return to the schedule, apart from that hideous chicane.

It's not the best track, but neither is Monaco... An ALMS race there would be a shamble.

But I think Baltimore remains just as a glamor-type event. It's cool to draw in spectators (What better way than closing their roads?) but something needs to be done about safety...
