Virgin's sponsorship of BrawnGP was quite minimal so the signs were already there.
People like Branson are there to get something out of it, and you don't make money in motorsport. So they are always looking for the cheapest possible branding opportunities. Branson himself got a coup with Brawn and I believe the deal with Manor (Marussia F1) was to use the "Virgin" branding to attract the real sponsors.
Most big name deals in motorsport are generally like this, the teams are using the celebrity names or big brands to attract interest from other sponsors. You generally need a motorhead in said company for them to commit any real money.
The relative spend of say Virgin and Red Bull versus the return would be an interesting discussion..but probably elsewhere as this is a little off topic.

So Starworks will now run RSR's PC, and now have 2 for next season.

I'm skeptical as to how much these developments will help. The TS030 already had an as good or even better aero package and hybrid system compared to Audi, the big gains aren't going to be there. The engine is the problem and I don't see how they can make that competitive against the overpowered diesel this year.

Now, I'm not going to pretend to know anything about racing sponsorship, but since Patron obviously won't be the title sponsor next year, maybe Cosmo is worried about the money drying up and decided to move to a more stable team?
And if Scott Tucker gives up half of his seat time for Guy, it can't help but improve their performance.

I think we all would.
Frankly, the P2 field isn't very interesting right now because it's two of the same teams. Each run 2 HPD's, funded by one guy. Neither of which are competitive on a global scale, and neither have particularly imaginative liveries.

John Dagys has reported on twitter that Dempsey is sueing Avenatti over borrowing against Tully's without informing him... Not a great time with all the publicity he's already getting with the TV show.

I'm sure there is some aerodynamic reason for those dive planes (is that what they are?), but they look like spikes to take out the tires of competitors or something
