The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

You could be right. "Porsche Team confirms 2015 works drivers" could imply confirmation that the sextet will be back for the full season, but it's not explicit. Nevertheless, the third car is still up in the air.

Seeing as they don't make any indication that they'll scale back their program to just select rounds, it would seem a forgone conclusion to assume that the full time line up is basically the same for 2015

My local cinema is packed for journey to Le mans

That's not what I was getting at. For example, if an F1 star becomes available and they sign that driver for a full season in the #20, Porsche could reduce the role of, say, Timo Bernhard to testing and driving a third car at Spa/LM without contradicting this press release. I doubt that'll happen, but I don't think Porsche have completely terminated their options should something very attractive become available.

Would be silly to get rid of him really, he's probably still the fastest qualifier at LM as well.

I know it's not important but shouldn't this thread be renamed to "The WEC General Discussion Thread"?

Anyway Toyota got the win with the #7 car, 2-3 for Porsche (#14, #20) and Audi 4-5 (#2, #1)

Sarrazin staying at Toyota next year according to Radio Le Mans.
Good for him I suppose, but there's no getting around that he has been poor behind the wheel of the TS030/TS040. Slow-and-steady Wurz has consistently been faster, Nakajima is on another planet and even newbie Conway has shown Sarrazin up.

If someone was going to be replaced by Conway, I would have hoped it was Sarrazin, but now all signs point towards the departure being Lapierre. Lapierre has his faults, but at least he's not slower than Wurz.

Starting to work out what to go to next year. Definitely doing Le mans again and possibly spa 24hr as I know someone who is taking their AMR team along.

Really fancy doing the N24 as well.
