Is there any difference between the DFP with Blue grips and the much nicer official GT one? (Black and Chrome). I just ordered a DFP but it has blue grips - I have emailed them back asking if they can get the proper GT4 one! I hope they are the same tho if they won't take it back!

Was a good price as well, £75.95 is cheapest I have found on UK sites. I did ordera bundle from Gameplay but the order came thru and it said it would be 2 weeks till the wheel came - NO!! GT4 will be here in 6 days - I can't wait that long to try my wheel!! lol

TIA for any info/help

If the wheel you're referring to which has Blue Grips, then you more then likely have the Logitech Driving Force...which is actually quite different then the Driving Force Pro...

The Driving Force Pro...or DFP for short, was specifically made to work with GT4...whereas the Driving Force is mainly 'compatible' with GT4 and therefore you may or may not experience the same effects as with the DFP...But this is just an assumption...

My guess is that you ordered a Driving Force wheel, Not the 900 degree Driving Force Pro. I think the one you ordered is the best GT3 wheel they made.

Finally Off the phone with Logitech ordering up another set of pedals!

they had me on hold for 20 mins! :scared:

i was thrashing good ol Prologue since the final version of Gt4 isnt out till wedensday next week here in the UK. Had the Evo going round a bend Sideways n suddenly .....*CRACK!!!!!!!!!!!*...........DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN......

Logitech are sending me another set with out asking for the one thats broken....fair enough.......i decided to have a look inside the pedal set.

the Sensors or whatever they are they use for telling how much pressure is on the Accellerator n break are hopeless. their so small n will break easily!

i could see me phoning logitech again in 4 weeks time to tell them ive done it again.

they said 3 weeks to deliver but in "most cases its only one week" well it bettah be! gt4s out soon n i desperately want to take a Supercharged Civic type R or Focus RS round the ring! :)

my break pedal (on the set i broke) it doesnt register its being pushed down. its not working right with the pedal. anyone could give me a detailed guide on how to fix it with in say.......5 days! ill pay ya........in gold.........gold i tellz ya!

Logitech is sending a brand new wheel to me. They say they cannot only replace the pedals. You should expect the same thing.

ah i see, that would be cool anyway, as long as i get it back up n running altogether so i can play the game! waited quite a few years for this, n my wheel breaks 7 days before it comes out!!! :scared: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The woman on the phone sounded spanish, but we managed to communicate no problem, she put me on hold for ages cause they guy who she has to order the part through was busy, but then she said she goes it ordered. n she kept referring to the pedals only.

ill know in a week i guess.

I just got the DFP last night. It took me a while to get used to it, but I love it now.

I have two very simple and probably stupid questions:

A. What and where are the "paddles"? I keep reading that in order to change the degree of rotation you hit this button, that button, and a paddle. Is the paddle the shifter or the buttons on the back of the wheel?
B. Where do I change the driving style (by this I mean Simulation, Professional, etc.). I read a thread somewhere talking about how one is better then the other, and it is easier to drive with one style and stuff. But I have no clue where to check to see what my wheel is set at or how to change it. Same thing with "assists". Where is all this located. I checked under options and the DFP icon, but it looked like I could only change the button config there.

Thanks in advance. Sorry if my dumb questions annoy anyone.

A) paddle = shifter

B) as far as I know, these things have nothing to do with the DFP. You can change the driving style in the settings of the game, if I understand correctly what you mean.

These are no stupid or silly questions (for those whom don't know the answer). Only stupid and unfriendly people (whom do know the answers) say that a question is stupid.

I just try to help as much as possible

Well, one thing I can say about the boards here is that the users are friendly and have helped me out a ton.
Most other gaming boards I go to usually seem like nothing more then a pissing contest or a flame war.
The boards here are refreshingly lacking these types of posters.

Not to mention is was this thread and others here that helped me make the decision to buy the DFP. It was truly a fantastic purchase. As soon as I started playing, I knew the wheel was pure quality.

If I recall corectly, the driving types (like simulation, professional, etc.) have no use when using the DFP as it has no assists. Using the original 200 degree wheel is where those come into play.

Thanks 95nismo-

Now I can stop worrying about it.
And come to think of it, I believe the person I heard talking about it was describing the regular DF. Not the DFP.

Now does anyone have a good resaon I can give my boss to go home early and play? :)

Yep, I have!!! Invite him to come over and play GT4 with you!!! lol  :D
Let him win and maybe you'll get a raise and more time off :dopey:

Buggy Boy!

I cannot believe that you have been talking and talking about the problems with your wheel for this long, and haven't bothered to exchange it for a new one! Ten degrees of play in the center of the wheel, with no force feedback, is DEFINITELY a problem. Get a new one ASAP and be done with all this debate!!!

Wow, 70+ pages of this thread and I was only in the twenties when I posted this. You could have gotten six new wheels in this time and I wouldn't have known. I apologize in advance if I commented prematurely.

I don't mean to be rude but it has been said like a million gazilllion time. NO !. There is a sticky FAQ thread. You should read it.

Thanks alot.

i havent the slightlest idea why anyone would want to use the DFP in 200 mode for GT4. you dont have to do much steering work anyways and driving is much smoother in 900 mode.

I have a Momo racing force (black one without leather wheel). I was wondering if I could use the pedals from that and use them with the DFP? The pedals of the momo hasn't had a problem yet in my 2 years of owning them.

I am still thinking about purchasing the DFP despite of the pedal problems (calibration, broken pedals). So they offer a replacement if the pedals break. What information will I need to give them? serial number? product number?. Do I have to register the product on thier site?

please help!

-Thanks,

-Ben

YES, you can!!! I am 100% sure about that. I used my MOMO racing pedals with the DFP for a long time without any problems, what so ever, untill I sold the MOMO racing. 2 days later I started to have problems with the DFP pedals... :ouch: Both pedals have the same pots.

From what I hear, the dirt and snow races are near impossible with 900 mode. I think most use 200 mode for that or maybe even DS2.

True. For road races the 200 degree mode feels like it is 900 mode "compressed" into 200 degrees, but for rally 200 or DS is the way to go 👍 I did 2 hours of an ice racing license test before I figured that out.

The level of difficulty with snow and dirt race with a 900o wheel is very high but not impossible. I have manage with pratice achieving an acceptable level of driving.

I just started to play GT4 with DFP yesterday and I noticed that the wheel itself steers to get the car out of skids. It is like the wheel is set to follow the track, especially if you go a little bit off the road or you loose traction. It feels like there is some sort of correction even if you come close enough to the road edge. Sometimes it feels like you can just mash the throttle and let go off the wheel - which is not really the case but it feels like that. I tried to set different options but it is still there.

I find it very annoying. It is completely unrealistic. If I am going off the road, cutting a corner or skidding I don't want any help to correct that. Is there a way to disable that? I don't want to unplugg the wheel to have no force feedback.

Anybody observed that?

Thanks.
