Real steering wheels will countersteer automatically due to the suspension geometry (mostly caster and kingpin inclination). It's what gives steering stability on a straight.

Normally though, to pull out of a slide, you have to steer to where the wheel wants to be plus a few more degrees.

Now, i don't have GT4, so i can't tell if there is some kind of weird steering aid, but it sounds like a normal thing.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation but it feels way too strong, even with reduced force feedback. I've been in skids in a real car before and I never felt it. I guess I was not skidding at those speeds. Thanks.

yes in the tuning option you can disable ASM and TCS

I'll try that but they claim that ASM brakes individual wheels so it should not yank the wheel around. I have that in my real car and it doesn't behave like that.

Did I break my DFP? The wheel feels loose and not as tight to turn anymore. Specifically doing Arcade Grand Canyon, i dont get nearly the resistance and rumble i got the first day with this thing. =( any ideas guys?

Its firm on the road courses.. but seems to have lost its firmness and realistic bumpiness on gravel/grass on the road and rally course. =(

Hop in a RWD car with a LSD in real life and give it a hard wheelspin launch so the rear end steps out and watch the wheel. As the car steps out the steering wheels (front wheels) will remain straight but the cars body wont.

Same with if you step it out around a bend, the body will step out quite an angle but the wheel still follows the road to some degree, but extra countersteering will be required in most cases if you want to control it. Dont forget the front wheels are on a pivot with the body so dont expect them to follow what the rest of the cars doing.

If anyone around Chicago is looking for a Driving Force Pro, PM me. I literally got mine in the mail today, 1 hour of use, I'm not interested in it. For pick up I'd take $90. PM or email me please.

There is no such thing as a Driving force Pro2, I assume you mean Driving Force Pro.

TALK ABOUT A LACK OF PATIENCE!! I bet you dropped high school after the first semester?

Woops. what he said :).

Very true on the lack of patience (and money). It was a sporadic purchase, if someone around Chicago isn't interested I guess I'll force myself to learn how to use it :).

I just got the wheel today... it was on backorder.

Any way, i cant get it to configure.

The left LED is blinking and the wheel just keeps turning to the right.... it clicks when it reaches its farthest point, then goes to the left for second, and then continues to go to the right.

Its been doing this for about 40 minutes....

any suggestions?

Is the power connected properly? It sounds like its trying to configure itself like it should but it isnt working.

I had the blinking light problem when I first got my DFP because It wasnt getting power properly, so I switched powerpoints and it works great.

Well, i got it to work earlier... used it for 10 minutes or so, then had to do something. Now its not working at all.

Ill try plugging it in somewhere else...

nope, same thing...

I left it unplugged for like 5 minutes hoping it would "reset" itself... tried plugging it in somewhere else.... same problem.

I really have no idea what the problem is...

Ive tried it without any controllers, without a memory card, in USB slot 1 and 2... I dont get it.

I had the same problem. You have to get it replaced. :)
Just call Logitech and tell em what its doing. and they will send you a replacement. Unless you could return it to some store for a replacement.

:indiff:

Sorry to hear, ring Logitech and tell them your problem and how you had to wait, from other peoples experiences they seem to be great people.

it might not be broken. but if they tell you how to fix it. tell me cus i got the same problem with my other DFP. that way..... :)

If i could get a penny for every time somebody asked that question i'd Have a brand new Home entertainment system by now.

You would probobly have more than one ... :)

I mean, don't people read - it is written in manual included with DFP ... :/

I hate to ask, having not read the whole thread, but daaaaaang this is long, and I just don't have the time. :ill:

1. Seeing as the Driving Force Pro is USB, is it possible to connect to your PC and use it for any PC games?

2. Can the shift paddles on the wheel be used as accelerator and brake, for those who cannot use their feet?

Thanks!

The wheel works perfectly on the PC using Logitech gaming device drivers.

I'm new and i couldn't be bothered to look through 78 pages of reading.

1. Which steering wheel would you recommend for someone who is probably not going to be using it alot.
2. And where is the cheapest place to buy your recommended steering wheel in the UK

1. depends on how much you want to spend on a wheel. Also, are you a big race (sim) fan? Do you want to use it for PS2 (GT4) and PC???
You have 2 choices if you want to use it for the PS2 and PC (both are compatible) ==> driving force (DF) or the driving force pro (DFP) The best choice for GT4 is the DFP but this is also the most expensive one
