Does anyone hear a clicking noise while turning the wheel? I've only had the wheel three days and it didn't make this noise initially. It doesn't do it constantly, just an occasional click. Wondering if this is normal. It doesn't affect the performance of the wheel but it annoys me.

The strangest thing happened with my DFP last night. I was doing the last test for the A license at Nurburgring when my DFP suddently lost feedback power. The wheel became extremely loose and had no feedback feel to it. The only way to get back the feedback was to restart my PS2.

Anyone else had this problem before?

I've been asked by a few people to find the best deal for the DFP. I think i found it. You can get one for 112.99. Plus if you have gt4 and the logitech wheel, you can get a 20 dollar rebate, which makes the wheel come down to 92.99. Then when you check out of amazon, it asks you if you want to apply for their credit card, if you do you get an extra 30 dollars off, so then the wheel is actually 62.99!!! not a bad deal if u ask me. DIY>playseat

I tried that at frys.. the thing was falling apart..

Then they probably put it together carelessly or didn't tighten everything all the way. I have the playseat and it works just fine.

Hi everyone, I'm new to The Planet and I like it here. I ask for help.

The Noble Truth of Suffering.
Suffering as a noble truth, is this: Birth is suffering, ageing is suffering, discovering
your new DFP causes screen mis-alignment is suffering...I just got my DFP hours ago and I followed the exact instructions for setup, BUT when I begin a race or event (Picture this: you are sitting in your favorite car, holding your DFP, only your neck is locked in a cast so you can only look out of the driver side windowat a 45 degree angle, however all the controls work and the wheel funtions properly aside from seeming to cause an error in the game when plugged in.
The wheel calibrates at startup, and seems to work fine, as do the gas and brakes.

If I start on a straight track and hold the wheel straight and press the gas I go straight, But my view is out the side window. I called Logitech (thanks for the number) and they said it's probably the GT4 game settings. I checked all options in the game that I could find and found nothing for adjusting the screen angle from a drivers viewpoint. This should be automatic, agreed? Game works fine with DS2, been playing it for days now.

This situation is frustrating me much more than my fellow Buddhists would approve of, so if any of you can help me... namu amidha butsu.

Cheers,
John

I have no clue if this post is supposed to be humorous or not. Eigher way, I did chuckle a little. I never had this problem with my DFP though, must be your settings.. There's something called multi screen that might be it also.

Ok, I figured it out. DFP is phenomenal first off. But yeah, I have been trying to set up LAN with a router for about a week now going as far as calling Sony and getting info on which ports to open (TCP 10070-10080 and UDP 10070 only), then taking the router back to my local computer specialist to make sure it was done right. After that, I've set up all the LAN config info (IP addresses, screen mode "center" etc.) just as I've read on the forums, however therein lies the key to my DFP problems. After trying everything to get LAN working, I just kept tinkering. I put the left tv's ps2 on "left" monitor setting and ditto for the right ps2 on "right". well, I thought I saved it back on "center" setting and didn't. So please get some laffs at my dumbness. Also make a mental note that if you have screen centering problems, check your monitor position in LAN settings.

Thanks guys,
It's snowing here in Connecticut, i should just get back in my 318 and go for a drive considering my computer skills.
Peace,
John

I bought a DFP yesterday and loved it but by making a cockpit of some type it clogs my room and it's a hassle to put it away every time I want to watch TV or something. So I returned it and I'm going to just use the controller and enjoy the picture mode and mess with that. 150 bucks is steep especially for something you have to make your own car seat for. AWESOME wheel I must admit though, it made the game a lot better. But I had to make a choice.

Is my DFP responding properly with GT4? When I am driving a convertible(I played on 3rd person view) the driver doesnt respond to my DFP that quick. If I turn the wheel right, the driver in the convertible will take 3/4 of a second to respond. I dont know if the car responds quicly or not but the driver doesnt. Does anyone else get this?

is it normal for the dfp, to make noises as u turn it....its only when u turn it alot for liek hairpin or sharp turns...it sounds like ur making it turn....i dunno hwo to explain but i have never had a quality wheel and just want to make sure it stays quality

Sounds about right. The noise of the gears winding when doing hairpin turns is normal. It sounds like servos, the kind of motors you find within radio controlled cars or something thereof.

When I got my dfp I thought hairpin turns would be much easier vs. a DS2. hehe. I think in some ways it's much harder to use the DFP to steer.

yea thats what it sounds like the servos in a rc car....anyways thanks for the reply....i did not think it would be easier....and i am glad it isnt....i lov ethe challenge of hairpin turns with the DFP...i just need to get used to it a little more

So no idea about the durability of the DFP?
I posted a message with questions about this ( two-to-three pages back on this thread, but no-one answered... :indiff: :grumpy: )

So please, let me know if there's any problems durability-wise, and what breaks up in the case of a breakdown. I had to spend way too much money on replacement wheels back when I played GT2 (1500 gameplay hours within six months  )

So please, tell me what you know!!

It will outlast most steering wheels.

Mine has had over 3000 hours of play since i bought it, and it's still very very good. No noticeable wear on the steering shaft thanks to it being made of steel on bearings. The gears haven't developed much slop, and the pedals are fine.

posting the same question 5 times won't get you an answer.. it'll get people annoyed. If nobody has answered yet then assume that nobody has noticed or bothered to take notice to such a small thing. As long as the car goes where we need it to most people don't notice the rest.

Dude i know its not 900 degrees. It only turns a 1/2 of a turn lock to lock. I guess theres something wrong with my dfp then. u guys r no help!

if you look at the 1st freaking page you will see :) it works both ways, 200 to 900,900 to 200, 60% to 100%, 100% to 200%... omg this question has been asked a million times because so many are not smart enough to check the 1st page of this thread. RIP Darin :dopey:

Doggie : our firm is one biggest buyers at gnt and tech data :D so i got it from tech data :D

Is there any difference between the DFP with Blue grips and the much nicer official GT one? (Black and Chrome). I just ordered a DFP but it has blue grips - I have emailed them back asking if they can get the proper GT4 one! I hope they are the same tho if they won't take it back!

Was a good price as well, £75.95 is cheapest I have found on UK sites. I did ordera bundle from Gameplay but the order came thru and it said it would be 2 weeks till the wheel came - NO!! GT4 will be here in 6 days - I can't wait that long to try my wheel!! lol

TIA for any info/help
