I havent used the wheel for about 1 month and now when i went to use it the left LED light just blinks. I have no clue what to do. I called logitech but since i bought it from overstock.com they cant do anything. I just wanted to know if any of you could help me with my wheel. I have the drivers for it too.

Yes I'm sure. Read the scrolling banner in the options menu, it clearly says those settings don't affect the DFP and are for the GTForce/Driving Force only.

I got my replacemennt the other day :D

I then decided i wopuld open up my old one and find what was making the cracking noise. It was a random bit of metal which was jamming the mechanism. I pulled this out and the cracking noise was gone, I was gonna keep it and have two but i could not believe how much the old one had deteriorated. The new one seems much smopother and quiteter (sp?) to turn than i ever remember my original.

In the end i cut the USB plug and sent it to switzerland as Logitech asked - only cost 60p to post!! I would suggest to anyone who can to try and renew their DFP under warranty. I was amazed at the difference.

If your DFP gets loud and rough just lube the FFB gear with RP7 or WD40. I found it helps a lot even when they are brand new. But be careful with the lube 'cause it likes to pool inside the cover and dribble down on the inside a bit.

The culprit of all the noise is the FFB gear, with it removed there is no other noise coming from anywhere. If anyone knows where to buy a replacement for that gear , which isn't made out of nylon, please tell us!

The left LED blinking means the FFB motor is either disconnected or has died. If this is the case your wheel should be spinning freely and loosely with no resistance regardless of whether it's plugged in or powered on.

Take the cover off and check that the red and black wires are both connected to the FFB motor, one at the top and one at the bottom (the FFB motor is the cylindrical thing mounted at the top-left). Check for any other loose connections to the FFB motor. If everything seems normal it probably means the motor has died.

I just noticed the retractable carpet spikes on the DFP pedals. I was just wondering if there were any other :dunce: 's that didn't know that they were there?

i've seen BWX from the BHM forum suggest that you cover that opening with syran wrap or something simular so dust bunnies do not enter the bottom of the pedal box. he even made Rubber "booties" for the pedal arms out of surgical gloves.

great idea.

From what I gather, the DFP has been discontinued..(at least in Austraia anyway).
So what's the best alternative now???.....or is there going to be a DFP 'Mach-2'??

There are aparently some more units in Australia now, a limited number of them. Buggered if you can find 'em though! Ring up lots of game shops, especially the smaller ones who aren't as likely to have sold as many as, say, EB.

About the carpet grip system, DUR!! If you didn't know they were there you must've forgotten to READ THE BOX!

Just wanted to take a moment to thank Logetich for their very good customer support. I had the brake pedal issue that so many others have reported. Annoyingly when I was over an hour into a 4 hour enduro :(

Called the customer support number in California and the bloke on the phone sent me another set of pedals the same day. Didn't want to see a reciept or anything :)

Cant imagine playing GT4 with anything else and thanks to some very fast and curtious customer support I dont have to :)

Nice one Logitech :)

hi there :)
can anyone please tell me if the dfp work with computer systems? and do games like NFS Underground 2 and Juiced support 900 turning? I'd just found a software update from Wingman Team and it says added support for logitech dpf. so does it mean dpf can be used in computers as well? please advice :)

I use my DFP on my Nascar Racing 2003 Season (pc) all the time and that game Rocks in 900 mode. Force Feedback has never worked though, it just acts like a spring resistance, Though maybe that software upgrade would make it work. That would be cool.

Anyways, yes 900 mode works on all racing games released after Feb, 2004. (Excluding SRS)

i'd say the DFP is better than any other PC wheel on the market. i say this because no other wheel can you adjust the degree of steering rotation!!! it's brillant.

run the latest WingMan software and you should be super happy!

if anyone in Adelaide is interested in buying a DFP, check out Game Bizz at St Peters, they've just got 4 brand new REVB00 units in.

the dude there's pretty cool, if you have any hassles with the wheel or pedals they'll give you a replacement.

for those who need to know what version there wheel is but the sticker is missing from the booklett. you can find the version number on the upderside of the top cover plate.

ARe you sure about that? On 2 of my REVB units they both said REVA on the inside of the steering wheel cover.

What's the deal? REVA wheel but REVB pedal set?

BTW they were both good quality wheels with perfect dead-centres (well they should all have them since the optical sensor positions it) , and they didn't exhibit any of the poor build quality reported in REVA units.

I did a search and could find nothing to fix this, so here goes. My wheel is only a couple of days old, REVB model. Everything was fine until the last couple of times I used it, it calibrates fine, whizzing round in both directions and stops with both green lights steady at 12 o'clock (dead centre). But now when I start a race, as soon as the START appears onscreen, the centre suddenly shifts so that the green lights are now at 1 o'clock (slightly to the right) and throughout the race in order to drive in a straight line I now have to keep the green lights at 1 o'clock instead of 12 o'clock.

Please can someone advise me. Is this something that can be fixed easily or is there something wrong with my wheel? Thanks.

My pedals are acting funny :(

Does logitech make you send in your wheel set? Because I would rather just fix the problem myself rather than spend the money to send it in.

I've had my DFP since around March and love it. But I have always had to unplug the USB lead and plug it in again to get it to calibrate when the PS2 is first powered up. After that, if I reset the PS2, the wheel would calibrate again, but if I powered off the PS2 completely, then turned it on again, I would have to unplug the USB again to calibrate. It's been a little irritating, but not much.

It's been that way since the day I got it, but since about Tuesday, it has started to calibrate from power up with out unplugging the USB! I'm not complaining, but what's that all about?

If you are talking about the brake pedal flickering when pressing the throttle then no, logitech does not make you send your wheel set in. I have the same problem with mine and I called logitech earlier this week and expanded the problem. I had to give them the part number, the serial number, and date of purchase ( my DFP is a month old so still under warranty) to them and they said that they would send the pedal set for free and I did not even have to send them the old set. Logitec told me to throw the old set away.

I had the same problem, but it's fix now :P(myself)
It's more like a plastic problem & not the sensor of the wheel. It's more like a production problem. The plastic for the accelerator pedal is not well made & make the accelerator sensor loose which make moving the brake sensor so it end up making the brake sensor flickering when you press the accelerator sometime.
