:grumpy: that's bull$^!t! Ooh now I feel like abusing Logitech, all they've done in this country is send in 1 shipment of defective units and then completely reject all their customers.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH LOGITECH, NOT GOOD ENOUGH, DO YOU HEAR US?

As for recommending another wheel, I'd have to say there aren't any I could speak well of. After the DFP there's no going back really.

Maybe get one from the US and then if you need warranty, tell them you moved overseas and hopefully they should send you a replacement.

actually, after not being able to gt4 for 6 weeks i've discovered the real world again.
i'm feeling much happier, my eyesight and balance have returned to normal and the nervous twich seems to be clearing up nicely thankyou. :)
i'ii just use the ps2 to play dvd's from now on and write the whole gt4 experience off as an unpleasant nightmare.
cheers

I know what you mean, I was considering pulling the plug on achieving the whole GT4+DFP setup perfection...but for me it was not to be

Funny you should mention using the ps2 only as a dvd player, even that has its "issues"

1. no aspect ratio control
2. volume often too loud/too quiet

such is life, I suppose. Spent 3hrs the other day pulling apart my home theatre set-up to find one set of cheap cables were the culprit of poor sound quality. Seems I've been wasting a lot of time on faulty equipment lately...

Hey folks, I went through the the topic a little and couldn't find it, so here is my question. What is the most realistic setup for DFP? Regarding feedback force, driving assist mode, driving aids, 200 or 900, all variables... ?

I just got mine yesterday (kinda late) and it is sort of difficult to manage it, the whell bouncing side to side, you having to steer all the way to each side just to try to correct it...

900 MODE, everything off. I even have "power steering" off. :dopey:

My pc is acting up so i havent gotten a chance to play s2. How do the GTR cars feel with the DFP?

A question to anyone who has had a replacement DFP, How long did it take? and if they asked you to cut the plug off did you send it to them before or after recieving the new one?

Alright. So maybe some have you read my post a little while back. if not then :

http://gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=44139&page=109&pp=20&highlight=gtfp

its near the bottom.

So i talked to logitech and they say i have the wrong ac adapter, and the one i have goes to a 3d pro joystick...which ive never owned. So I pay 19$ to get one hear next day, which comes 2 days late. Then when it does come, its rediculously identical to the one i have. I try it and it has the same effect. buttons work for 3 minutes then the whole thing dies. Does it need to sit and charge with the adapter in the wall for a while b4 u play? this is now almost 200$ ive spent on this wheel, and i got friends comin down from NY for a sweet lan drift event and no damn wheel. im about to cut one of these big booty bithes from behind.

thanks for listening,

ted

well i talked to another representative and they wont honor ****. they can do nothing, not replace, refund, or exchange.

remind me to make a trip to logitech headquarters,

its jihad bomber time!

well thats all fine and dandy but when i bought mine it was sitting on the shelf for a long ass time and i got penalized for it. 'you seem like a prospective logitech consumer, BAM!, owned'

190$ down the drain

it's a great wheel, but unfortunately i have already my 3rd wheel in a couple of months

my first wheel: pedal problem, no brakes anymore (i had it for 5 days)
my second wheel: pedal problem no brakes again ( i had it for 3 weeks)
my third wheel: no problems until last week, the force feedback is gone, and the LEDs are turning on and off each time, wheel doesn't react on anything i do.. shame on you logitech! (i have it now 5 months)

but i'm lucky! in the store where i bought it, they gave me full guarantee.. so i deliver it there, i say what the problem is and they give me another one :D

that full guarantee is still available for 3 years :)

I would recommend using the same settings, except sometimes I keep switching between power steering on/off because I can't decide on which is better/easier to use over time.

You don't have to turn full lock every time you want to correct, you just correct earlier , in smaller amounts, and come off the throttle as soon as you start losing it. As you would in RL I believe :)

Just got my DFP back from warranty so I'm very happy again :)

Lubed the thing up with RP7 again (really careful this time) so it's nice and smooth and quiet. Pedals are working nicely too.

I just noticed an interesting thing when racing on the rally courses with the DFP - it uses 540 degrees. If you don't believe me switch to external view and look behind and watch as the wheels reach full lock at 540. Shows PD are paying attention :D

edit: about my warranty claim, seems they just sent me another wheel (I think it's a re-con 'cause its definitely not brand new, and has some pencil marks on the inside). Also the pedals are just another set (used), with no modifications to the pots (it's a REVB00 set).

The claimed they repaired my wheel and pedals, but that is obviously not the case as they have different serial numbers (not that I needed them to tell they were not the same equipment). Considering no more DFPs are coming into the country ever again I can't really complain though...

if your wheel has sat on the shelf for a long time (like mine did ~over a year~) they you have to just prove that you bought it with in the 2 year period.

its ok. i just owned logitech in the face. bought a new one and put the old one in the boxand returned it for full refund.

fool me once logitech, shame on you. fool me twice, ill insert a soldering iron in your butt.

I just got mine. I had problems getting it to work because this apartment used to be used as a grow room for pot, so all the sockets were screwed up. Finally got it going a half hour later, though, and I love it. It is like learning the game all over again, though. I felt like an idiot ending up in the grass constantly.

just a quick message to aussie (vic) gt4er's
as of thurs 30th june 11.30am, video games heaven @ knox city has 3 df pros left in stock, from an order of 24 last month.
i stumbled in there by accident having given up on ever getting one and there they were lined up on the wall. :)
$300 bucks but probably lucky at any price.
cheers

What the...an order that came in last month? That's impossible, there have been no DFP's coming into the country since February...unless Sony/Logitech are now flogging off "factory seconds" as brand new (explains how I managed to get my "replacement" DFP).

And $300 is not "lucky". A DFP costs about $50au each to ship, and Logitech have set the RRP here at $100au above the $USD RRP.

So it would be $50au cheaper to ship one in from overseas.

can someone please tell me what the length and width of the pedal box for the DFP is? Thanks.

I'm building a cockpit in anticipation of my DFP arrival...hopefully early next month (well, that's the latest news anyway!)...here's hoping!

330mm long, 275mm wide at its widest point.

The pedals base is designed to be put flat on the floor in conjonction with a normal chair or couch.
I actually CUT the base of the pedal box to perfectly fit my cockpit. Or you have to keep it flat on the floor with your car seat high above the floor (not a driving position like in a real car)!

More pics of my new foldable cockpit on the "cheap cockpit" thread!!! :)

Hey, i was reading on here because i purchased my DFpro agaust of 2004 from overstock.com I've been using the wheel to play live for speed on my pc. I havent used the wheel for about 1 month and now when i went to use it the left LED light just blinks. I have no clue what to do. I called logitech but since i bought it from overstock.com they cant do anything. I just wanted to know if any of you could help me with my wheel. I have the drivers for it too.
