You can engage 900 degree mode by looking at the first page thanks to Darin.:)

The whining noise you hear is normal. It happens to my wheel too. If this is not normal darin please tell STiDrift and I.:)

That whining noise happens in my Driving Force, perfectly normal.

does anyone know if tokyo extreme racer 3 works good with the driving force pro wheel?
I've used it. It don't respond as well as GT3. It just feels like you use a controller.

thanks Darin for the reply in my.. DFP brake always on problem
I'll give Logitech a ring tomorrow :) and hopefully they be as generous as Logitech USA..

the problem got pretty bad today.. in Destruction Derby Arenas if you hold down brake it starts reversing.. and without putting my foot on any of the peddles it started reversing automatically :scared:

I know this is ment to be a DFP only thread but in your first post you have a link to a steering wheel driver seat, so here are some more sites if you want to add them to your first post.

-Steering Wheel Driver seats:
AUS racing sims
RaceBase
HyperDrive

UK racing sims
GamePod
VisionRacer
GameRacer

US racing sims
Virtual Racer X
Virtual Racing Chassis
HyperDrive America

Awesome, it will be added!

Do any of you guys think that the GT Driving Force Pro is any better than the Momo Force? The one with the leather wheel and red base. I have had the Momo for a while and it is awesome in PC games and it GT-3. I'm just curiuous as it's discontinued. Is the new Driving Force Pro a advancement or just the same?

I don't think the Momo Force can do 900 degrees. ;)

Yeah :) The 900 degree thing is cool, but I'm a nut about build quality, so I wondered if the new Driving Force Pro offered anything better than what the Momo accomplished with the nice ball bearings and the whole feel.

I never used the momo so I really couldn't tell you a differance.

If the force feedback is turned off in GT4p with this wheel, does the wheel still self center, or does it go completely loose?

With force feeback on in GT4p how hard do you have to grip the wheel to keep the the car in a strait line?

The red Momo Force is better processed than the Driving Force PRO.
In the Momo are all transmission - axes and the Wheel shaft with ball bearings .
In the Driving Force PRO is only the Wheel shaft with ball bearings

:)

By the way, thats a photo of a open Driving Force PRO Wheel

What exactly are all the differences between the Driving Force and the Driving Force Pro? Does the force feedback feel any different?

My brother has a Driving Force wheel. If he turns the wheel and then stops the car, the wheel centers. On a real car, if you turn the wheel and then stop, the wheel stays turned. Is this a function of the force feedback in the wheel itself or is that what the assist feature does in GT3?

http://store.yahoo.com/justdeals/9632930403.html $60 for a DFP!! Too good to be true?

Funny you say that, I bought mine from them, it says refurbished. I will tell you if I got a dud or not. Before I bought it I could not believe it so I checked out www.resellerratings.com and they seemed to do a decent job.

thats 200 degree mode. there are no games out right now that will support 900 degree steering.

however, in order to manually set your wheel to 900 deg mode, return your wheel to the center position, then press Select+r3+right paddle.

SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST!

With GT4 Prologue the Wheel change byself to 900 degree steering.
In GT3 and other Games the Wheel change to 180 degree steering.
( 180 degree from full left to full right )

To change manual in a other degree-mode, push this buttons simultaneous :
SELECT & R3 & RIGHT PADDLE SHIFTER

By the way,
You can adjust the Force Feedback strongness too ( 60 % / 100% )
To change the strongness , push this buttons simultaneous :
SELECT & R3 & LEFT PADDLE SHIFTER

Okay...I'm confused...does GT3 support 900 degree mode or not? I keep hearing that only GT4 supports it, but people keep saying to do that combination to enable 900 degree mode. Are they talking about GT4: Prologue?

You can enable 900 degree mode in every Game, but in Games that not support the 900 degree mode , it isnt easy to drive :)

Games that support 900 degree (like than GT4 Prologue) , dont follow "Your" motion linear by steering !
ca. 70% of the full (Car) turn radius you have by 90 degree steering wheel angle !

it actually isnt TOO tough to drive 900 in gt3. you just have to be quick like a son of a *****.

hey werner, do you know if you can snap back to 200 degs in gt4:P?

if there are f1 cars in gt4 than i really dont want to use 900 degs with them. they are only 270 anyways. :D

Did a quick search but nothing turned up.
Does anyone know when the DFP will be on general sale in the UK? None of the usual places seem to have it. I'm guessing the plan is to release it when GT4 comes out and to possibly do the game and wheel as a bundle.
Does anyone know if this is the case?

That's something the game is doing. The wheel just gives whatever feedback the game is telling it to give, it isn't always self-centering. For example, in the middle of a drift, if you countersteer the proper amount and let go, the wheel will stay in that non-centered position since there is no lateral force on the tires. If the game centers the wheel when the car is stopped, it'll do it on any force feedback wheel.
