The Metal ThreadMusic

Are you guys familiar with "Fallujah"?
If not, and you're a fan of Prog/Tech Death Metal, give it a listen :)
They used to do Deathcore, but they've evolve I guess. You may find one or two parralels to their "past", but I overall enjoyed this album and it was actually my favorite album of 2011

Yep. Have some of their material on a disc with some decrepit birth, fleshgod and Hiroshima will burn. Ridiculous highs

EDIT - Going to see them with TBDM & Skeletonwitch at the glass house on November 16th.

Anyone heard the new Avenged Sevenfold album? I'm listening to it right now and I like it. Not quite as heavy as past releases but its good. Lot of Iron Maiden and Metallica sound. Sounds like a slightly heavier black album. This mean war sounds wayyyy too much like sad but true though.

I have listened to it. I like it. As you said, not as heavy as past albums. But overall it's pretty good.

It's great if you like mid paced metal songs. It lacked some faster stuff. It was decent but just repetitive. It got predictable about halfway through. IMO coming home is the best along with crimson day. I'd rated it a 7/10.

That said Coming Home seriously needs to be a radio single. It has been a while since a new song has blown me away. That is how modern metal should sound. Absolutely amazing. Just wow.

That's why I'm iffy with Avenged Sevenfold. I like their sound a bit, but it's so generic when you compare it to who really drove the riff-driven songs in the first place (Pantera, Metallica, etc).

I guess they aren't bad, but if I really wanted a sound like that? I'd just go back 20 or so years.

I've listened to enough old stuff to like hearing new bands playing in an older style.

Dave Mustaine wearing an AC/DC shirt strikes me as odd. Never knew he was into them.

Metal Church is back!!!!!!!! They are on tour ad are currently recording a new album called Generation Nothing!!!!

I used to crank the deicide, slayer, morbid angel, Metallica, cannibal corpse and pantera in my younger days, every now and then I'll still put on the old tomb of the mutilated hammer smashed face album by cannibal corpse but I don't think my neighbours like it to much haha 👍
Pantera, cowboys from hell was the first cd I ever owned.

Pre-orders should be starting anytime soon this month if they haven't already. Their official site has a brand new look as well. The album is expected to be out sometime this fall and will sound similar to their first 2 albums, Metal Church, and The Dark. Hell yes please.

This is the tracklist:

Here it a preview of the new album below:

Sounds like this is going to be a solid record. So excited for this one!!!

I'm not sure if you'd class it as metal, so many people have different views on how to classify rock music, but I've always liked Soundgarden the most. Recently I've been listening to 'Rooster' by Alice In Chains, a few songs by Staind as well as Korn, Slipknot and Audioslave.

A recent one I've tried listening to is Ben Shepherd's 'In Deep Owl' album. I've only heard a few songs so far but I'm liking what I hear. It's very different from anything I've listened to.

Sadly a lot of people wear AC/DC shirts that may have never even heard them. I hate kitsch cool. Motorhead t-shirts in particular need to be made with a special kind of kitschposer-activated acid in them to stop them being abused.

Not lumping Mustaine in with that btw.

Pretty avid fan of AILD now I was listening to their new album and liked Resilience alot. I was looking for drum covers and I don't know why but listening to the drum track turned up makes it sound great.

In case you haven't heard the song itself already, great guitar work as always with AILD

Recently started to listen to Fear Factory, along with my usual mix of Avenged Sevenfold, Black Tide, Slipknot, and Metallica (I listen to more obviously, but these are the only ones I consider metal)

EDIT: The End from The Allstar Sessions (Road Runner United) is a great song.
