The Myth Of Car Damage

I don't want car damage in GT5. Yesterday, I took NFS High Stakes out and played again (stop laughing!!! :grumpy: ) This game has car damage, you know, and it was pretty annoying that i had to spend my hard earn money to fix my Z3 after every race.

BTW, it's really disappointed to see a game released back in 1999 like NFS HS sill has much smarter AI than GT4. The cars go around and blow the horn at me when I get in their way, you know 💡

fair do;s but dont go posting false information just cos u "think" its right

Just what is your problem?

James2097 is making a fair argument for how he see's his point of view. All I've read from you since joining this forum is spit & hisse's in the direction of other posters. 👎

Let's have a civilised discussion plz.

right cos he is polite and writes a long ass post that makes it ok to attack other people huh

you know i was talking to this french chickand she said this thing about britain mainly was that there is no difference in this country from being polite and being a bully. which is very true but i dont have the patience to be polite so i tell you to **** off

Geez folks!! Let's Take it easy! I think just about everyone contributing to this thread has adjusted their stance a little. Man, it's not like WE'RE PD, trying to decide how to do this. This is all opinion and conjecture!

Is it just patience that you don't have?

have you posted any decent comments mate, if not then shut the heck up and let other talk in a more civilised way, otherwise, constant moaning will get some moderator on your ass, anyway whats britain got to do with it???

now my two cents:
im not going to discuss this, because whatever PD decide to do about damage, im content, iv enjoyed every GT game so far, and to be honest they HAVE always pushed the limit, so if they decise on damage, hurrah, another good option on a great game.

Yes I would like to have more realistic damage. In fact any damage at all. There are racing games, mentioning no names, who do have a damage engine in their games and it makes for a whole different experiance. After racing the GT games, coming to that game there was so much more I had to learn - learn to avoid other cars, to not bounce off the walls, etc. I'm not saying that doing these things in GT is a good thing, but there are times when you do get lazy. Or, at least I do. Y'know, when you're in 4th place and you've only got 1 lap to go and you want to win this championship now, you don't want to have to go through all 6 races of the championship all over again, so.... you barge your way into the lead, y'know, brake into a corner so that you bounce off the AI cars on your outside etc.. we've all done it. Or, as often as not, you're simply not aware of the fact that your driving is less than perfect.

Once I got damage I had to practicaly re-learn the driving, I had to be more aware of other cars, not brake too late or too early to avoid hitting or being hit by other cars, and to find a line through corners that avoids ramming into other cars on the exit. Etc. So, yes, damage would be good thing. And more realistic AI, but thats another story.

aer you moaning about me moaning? i wasnt even moaning

Why dont we have a "UK" section in this forum, you know a place where Brits can argue with each other in perfect hamony, before they make that section (which i would frequent) why cant you all shut up about your nationalities, and stop using nationality as a way of explaining charecture traits and arguements, BTW I come from London.

Now back to the topic I enjoy a life without car damage due to my driving style. I ram AI cars and bounce off corners in a way that would ruin my car with damge. If GT5 had car damage i would only buy it if it had tanks in it.

Am I meant to be British now?

Splendid sir, then I'll speak for everyone when I 'politely' suggest ADestroy kindly SOD OFF. You want it in French? Ferme le buishe, ADestroye. Was that succinct enough?

Ok back to the topic... I agree with kamikazefly in that I ultimately trust PD knows what they're doing... I'll be more than happy about any potential GT game on PS3! Okay I'm pretty sure Kaz said damage will definately be in, so how about some informed guesses as to what form it will ACTUALLY take in the final build of GT5? My guess is cosmetic definately, but I have no guesstimate as to how far PD will go with the mechanical...

actually ferme la bush translates as shut your mouth
again your lack of intelligence shines through

back on topic as you agree with kamifly you must also agree with me as i was the first on this thread to say this view point of trusting the game designers to make a good game damage or not as you can see from my previous post

"""if GT5 has no damage it will be good and if they put damage in it will be good also"""

k so if u wanna come back with another character attack on me go ahead but you are mere prey to me

i give in to all this arguing, its pointless and it just irritates others. can people (including me) stop this and talk sense. if you are really 8yrs old mate, then i think at least respect others who are older, full stop, i'm not going to b***h anymore after this, so i hope everyone does the same and stick to the topic. the myth of car damage finito

I know, how very insightful of you. The meaning of the words is what's important, so why not take my advice and heed them - you could very well get banned if you keep your current act up. You must be aware of how very petty, obnoxious and ultimately unrewarding your act is, to yourself & everyone else. I pity you. I would take you up on your offer to further embarrass you, but you're filling this role admirably all by yourself.

@ everyone else:
I won't argue pointlessly with this moron any more, sincere apologies to others for having to read this stuff...

see what i mean exactly

w/e you were wrong and because of that you go this far to discredit me

very lame behaviour

Enjoy the remainder of your stay. It won't be that long...

Wow, this certainly has gone downhill.

FWIW, I thought everyone was being pretty civil here up until a bit ago.

For instance, James and I disagreed with each other, but I thought we were both being pretty nice, if firm, about it. Cheers to all who were discussing nicely, if heatedly. It's more fun that way, after all. :)

Shrug. Oh well, only takes one bad turn for a thread to get destroyed. :(

And you, after a quick review of your posting sense and verbiage, are dismissed. No three warnings, no PM's, no second chances. You have demonstrated a complete disregard for the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

Goodbye.

Now please return this thread to its proper topic.

Thanks,

BOOM!!

sorry but i just had to write that

oh, and im just trying out the damage option in GT2 just to remind myself how it worked again. interesting stuff.

Sorry to repeat something from my earlier post, trying to get it back to a discussion...

James and I were just discussing how to do away with him, and POOF!

To get us back on track, I actually think that while the visual damage is what everyone is looking for (no pun intended), the mechanical damage is what will really affect gameplay, and make the real difference.

same boat as you mate, but wouldn't damage detail and accuracy be determined by how powerful the PS3 will be? so im assuming it will be a while before we get any firm ideas!

I reckon the cosmetic detail will definately be pretty much up to what the PS3 can render, but mechanical seems to be more up to gameplay balance, I mean even in old F1 games on PC you could damage a mind boggling number of components! I assume mechanical is more determined by what kind of gameplay balance PD is shooting for... as its more behind the scenes kinda...?
