You mean 'any sized, expensive cars next to small, cheap ones'?

Either/or is good.

PS - A4 2.8 wasn't turbocharged! :D

It was 1.30am. I was lucky to find the keyboard... :D

Well, lets see where this leads (assuming I find something better):

Size of a Cow:
2005 Chevrolet Uplander "Base"

5.2M (length) X 1.8M (width) X 1.8M (height) = 16.848
Divide by 3.5 (V6) = 4.8 "mouse index"

I assume thats how we're supposed to do it?

That's exactly as the example, so exactly right.

Size of a Cow:

2004 Pacifica...yes it's my mom's
p8150257ku6.jpg

5.052m x 2.014m x 1.689m = 17.186/3.5L = 4.91 Mouse Index

First Gen Miata

Price difference:
e55amgnc6.jpg

(As new)
E55 AMG: $195,200 AUD
Hyundai Excel: $13,990 AUD

Price factor: 13.95

Oooh, nice. Who'd have ever thought of a Hyundai Excel becoming a winning car in a car scavenger hunt? Brrrr!

1. Fastest ORANGE car.

Subaru Legacy GT-B - Limited to 180kp/h (only orange-ish car I saw)

2. Bargain Basement Benz.
For sir's consideration I offer:

1987 300SEL and 1992 190E

Late '80s early 90's E Class

Another 190E (and an older S class in the background)

96 C180

2000-2006 C200K

and finally A160

3. Lady and the Tramp.

AMG CLK63 NZ$200,900 Vs Ford KA avg price as per Autotrader is about NZ$7995 Ratio = 25:1

BONUS: Mk1 MX-5/Miata/Eunos Roadster.

As per my earlier post

3. Lady and the Tramp.

The cars have to be converted to its as new price.

3. Lady and the Tramp.
The biggest price difference (as new) between two adjoining cars

deadline is today?

Whew! It's tomorrow... my wife has had the camera almost all week... I managed to snatch it this morning, though :grumpy:

But you can't get the Ford KA new here anymore?!?

But you could. Once upon a time.

You want the prices AS NEW. How much was that Ford Ka bought for from the Ford dealership when it was new? And the AMG too. Then divide one by t'other. That's your ratio.

MX5:

A-Class for cheap Mercedes. The problem is the absense of rear model markings, so I have no idea what model it is:

We can just assume it's a 2006 A200 Turbo

But you can't get the Ford KA new here anymore?!?

The as-new price, when it was new. Not new today, new whenever. If it came out of the showroom 5 years ago, then you need to find out how much that model of Ka cost, brand new, 5 years ago.

Edit: Nuts, didn't realise there was another page.

I don't mean to be picky, but the '54 300SL was about 5K when new, yet it's by no means a cheap Mercedes...

Oooh, nice. Who'd have ever thought of a Hyundai Excel becoming a winning car in a car scavenger hunt? Brrrr!

Wait - I thought the cars had to be parked next to one another, as the category states? I've passed up many opportunities of driving vehicles based on this.

I don't mention "parked" anywhere in the category. Just "adjoining".

e55amgnc6.jpg

I see an E55 AMG, immediately followed by a Hyundai Accent/Excel with no other vehicles in-between in the same shot.

I misinterpreted then. Which is fortunate, in the end.

No. I want the cheapest Mercedes you can walk up to, hand the owner cash for and drive off.

Ok. Awesome.

Final Entries:

Fastest Orange Car.

orangexr6ad8.jpg

BA Ford XR6. Limited to 230km/h (143mph)

Bargain Basement Benz.

crapmercng5.jpg

Some P.O.S W123 280 if I'm not mistaken. Which according to the Redbook has a recommended private sale price of 2500$(Although that's probably for ones which aren't covered in rust, have matching body panels, and windscreen wipers which actually go all the way down...) For comparison that's 1/10th of the price of a base VW Golf here.

Lady and the Tramp.

(As new)
E55 AMG: $195,200 AUD
Hyundai Excel: $13,990 AUD

Price factor: 13.95

Size of a cow, heart of a mouse.

priusiru1.jpg

Prius I
(1.485 x 4.315 x 1.695) / 1.5 = 7.24078575 rating.

However, I also got this, but since it says CAR in the catagories I am unsure if vans are discounted like last week. But just incase they're not.

dsc00793jw7.jpg

Mercedes Vito 115 CDI
Which either has a value of

10.52 - HIGH ROOF
8.17 - Regular roof.

I'm no expert on the Vito, but I assume it's just the regular roof model. But if anyone knows otherwise...

---

I saw a MKI MK5 going in the other direction. It's really annoying me that I'm yet to take one.

Being in New Zealand the price differences compared to Australia aren't too different. So you can probably use www.redbook.com.au which lists the price of the car as new.

CLK63 - $196,400AUD
Ford KA - $16,500AUD

Cool thanks. I am pretty sure that KA's where NZ$16,995 when they were new here (your $16,000 price jogged my memory)

So my ratio should be $200,900 (as per Mercedes NZ RRP) / $16,995 = 11.8

No. I want the cheapest Mercedes you can walk up to, hand the owner cash for and drive off.
????

I thought it was as new... :indiff: Must've got it confused with the Lady and Tram one. Oh well, because I saw an A-reg E-Class yesterday!

Fastest orange car:

scavenger-081107-2.jpg

Ford Mustang GT. Top speed is 147mph.

Smallest engine in largest vehicle:

scavenger-081307.jpg

Dodge Sprinter - 2.7L

5.72m x 1.93m x 2.41m = 25.65 / 2.7L = 9.87 ratio

Also Miata as posted earlier. My categories will be up in a little over twelve hours. And by the way, leaderboard was not updated last week.

And by the way, leaderboard was not updated last week.

Famine is moving house right now, with computer components in boxes and sporadic internet connection. I'll get round to it when I can.

Or daan could do it.

:D

1. Fastest ORANGE car.
Renault Megane Sport 225 (146 mph)

2. Bargain Basement Benz.
Just an ugly Late 70s 240D Benz. Paint is burned off, interior is all slashed, etc.

3. Lady and the Tramp.
Toyota Land Cruiser (54,100€) vs. Fiat Punto (9,225€) = 5.86

And
Opel Astra (some cool model) (25,000€) vs. VW Beetle late 70s (new, 4,000€) = 6,25

4. Size of a cow, heart of a mouse.
Two different Renault Trafic, 1.94 x 4.78 x 1.90 / 2 litres = 8,99

BONUS: Mk1 MX-5/Miata/Eunos Roadster.

I really hope you can determine it's a Mk1 MX-5... I ran after it. And the girl with the freakin Mercedes MX-5 hasn't appeared lately. It's waaaaaaay down there.

carspot009svw6.jpg

Bonus, Please.

Size of a Cow, Heart of a Mouse.
carspot013td9.jpg

2.5*1.52*1.55/0.8=7.3625

I think the Europeans have got this category won easily. But oh well.

Lady and the Tramp
carspot015cd1.jpg

Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet (1990 to 199?) and Honda Civic (1996-2000).
65000/13800=4.71
I couldn't find a price for the Carrera 2 Cabrio, but the regular Carrera 2 was probably less. So I used it.

Yes it is possible to get two bonus points if you see both vehicles.
