By the way, was there a PP limit on the car? When joining Rosckolove's test server the other day, I had to limit the power quite a bit to get in but I do not see any info about PP limit in the first post... I think I had the '97 Miata with oil change.

You shouldn't have to limit the power. Buy the car, change the oil and take it to the track at 100% power with everything untuned. 👍

Yeah, apologies, this seemed to cause a little confusion - I used the dealership PP values. After an oil change you can expect a little hike in PP and that's fine, you shouldn't use any power limiter at all.

Well I just had a 20 or so lap solo session trying to work on my times, I JUST broke the 2:34's with a 34.994. Learned a few new lines that seem to have helped but no doubt I'm never going to be a front runner here :P.

Still, I have to say GT6 never caught my competitive interest as much as GT5 did, it really is superb having high target times to aim for again - for the first time in probably two years I started to work on more stages of throttle input in that last practice session, fantastic.

Had a go with the 1.6 litre car first. It's almost a completely different animal to the 1.8 I feel, in two laps I clocked a 35.2 which I was really happy with, but the next three laps didn't yield much improvement - it felt quite easy to get a lot out of. When I switched to the 1.8 I was slower for the first 5 laps before I started to bring up the pace with it; I think overall the 1.8 has the most potential no question - but not by a huge amount, with the added torque and extra mass it's harder to get the power down. Most interestingly, though, my second sector time in the 1.6 was around 4 tenths faster than the 1.8 ended up!

For anyone that might be around, I've got a room open for practise. Room number is,

1472-4711-0038-4893-2822

Feel free to pop in :)

I only drove the 1.8 for a short amount of time, but...I think it is actually more difficult to drive than the 1.6. Perhaps I had yet to really adapt to it. The lap times were roughly comparable. The 1.8 would probably improve to the level of the 1.6 if I gave it more time to (was at 2:34.5). It is slower through the corners. A car with more speed on the straights is generally better for an actual race though. A fast cornering car is vulnerable to mistakes and being slowed by other cars.

Personally I found myself more suited to the 1.8 at this stage... however! I am no where near the lap times i need to be competitive with, clearly I have a lot to learn still on this track.

still looking forward to the race though 👍

I've beaten my best 1.6 lap time with the 1.8, but generally speaking I'm far more consistent with the 1.6 at the moment. I'm also a lot easier on my tires with the 1.6 if tire wear was going to be an issue, which it clearly isn't ... so ignore that :boggled:.
Damn, you guys are talking about laps and all I've done in my Miata was paint it silver and put some $waggy rims on it...

Get some times in pal :P.

Still stuck in the high 2:35/low 2:36, can't seem to find any more speed with any of the 1.8s. :/ Mostly what I've been finding is new ways to end up facing backwards. Think I'll give the 1.6 a go sometime soon, see if that works better.

Right now I'm choosing to blame my lack of speed on having just modded my G27 pedals and not being used to the new feel, but that's obviously not going to hold any water a week from now!

I know I could break into the 33.9's but I can't bring myself to practice in that thing. The race will be great fun, but the whopping 123 horsepower just isn't stimulating enough to run laps alone. @KingKlingeling I don't know how you mustered up the motivation to run almost 80 practice laps in the thing. You sir, are dedicated :)

Got 10 offline and 10 or so online laps yesterday. Sorry for being late to the party hobbsy.

I got one amazing lap, which I thought was because of getting nice slipstream from hobbsy on the main straight but in addition to the maybe .3 in the first sector gained by the slipstream, in the following laps I lost over a second at the other side of the track so I must have done something right there in that set of slower turns or something. Too bad I could not save the replay of my best lap :(

So officially I got my first 2:36.xx now just need to know how I did it and get the consistensy...

I had to read it twice because of your unusual letter size

Ofc Speedy, always good to have you about, I'll put your name on the list now.

Chase, just wanted to confirm the times: 9:30 GMT or BST? Just to know how many hours I'd be behind.

If you don't mind waiting a couple of hours Math I'll get back to you later tonight - clocks change here tomorrow and I'll do my a re-count then, it WILL be 9:30 GMT though and currently that should be 4:30PM EST

OK then, because that would make it 18:30 BRT. And I have a series that may start next week, and the race would end pretty close to the start time in BST.

Ok Math, after checking, and then rechecking several time to make sure this is absolutely correct. We (UK) are on BST now which means 9:30 PM for us WILL mean 4:30 PM for EST 👍.

Just about to get a room open if anyones around.

EDIT: Also, @Ameer67 you haven't accepted my add on PSN yet, can you do it before Sunday if that's OK? I know people sometimes run into issues joining rooms if the add has only been accepted that session.

Honestly, I think I may have to drop out. I have some errands to do almost the whole day.

No problem. If the space doesn't fill then feel free to join if you're there at the time.

EDIT: Doodles taken it apparently
