You don't use kerbs? How do you stay ahead? Takes a lot of practice to not need them.

When I say I don't use kerbs, I mean that I try to never put more than 2 wheels off the track. In some cases, you can run with 2 wheels on the kerb and not on the tarmac. I don't do that.

Are we treating the concrete as a kerb? It doesn't really say in the OP. I prefer not, but whatever is decided is fine.

I should make this a bit more clear - I always try to make rules as simple as possible but I guess this needs addressing. concrete isn't kerb in my book, so no running really wide on that last chicane! I'm not too bothered about people running wide out of the tunnel before the long bridge (I don't think it's particularly fast anyway), but if people would rather this be banned then that's fine by me.

I've updated the OP about the concrete rules, and I've also added everyone who signed-up on PSN - I hope this is OK. Furthermore after closer inspection some of the 361PP cars are actually 1000kgs as opposed to 990kgs - I (wrongly) assumed the same PP meant they would have the same statistics.

I'm hopeful of being a mid-field runner so I've chosen the MX-5 S-Special Type I (NA, J) '95, which is one of the 1000kgs 361PP cars - painted a glacial blue!

Well, practice with rosckolove and Longbow was certainly humbling tonight, 1.2 seconds down on the pace here, and I have a feeling they'll find time more easily than I will :indiff:.

Still a lot of good fun though!

there's not much time to find. With cars these slow it's all about braking as little as possible and being smooth and early throttle application. You on a wheel or pad?

Pad, always have been. Never seen it as any disadvantage though to be honest.

it's only worth a few tenths anyway.. Just makes a throttle Control a little harder. I can run with ya whenever ya want. At least show ya the line I use.

I saved that replay, I'm going to be getting some popcorn and watching it through a few times for sure ;).

The time to beat is around a 2:34.4. Though if people are going to practice as much as I think they will, I'm questioning whether or not I should really race. :indiff:

I was only worried about getting left in the dust by you. Anyway I'm not really gonna practice. Maybe 10 Lapa or so before the race. To slow to be running laps by myself.

I just really loathe practicing and can't muster up energy at the moment to really apply myself... I find it very difficult in any case, I haven't been feeling well.

That's no reason for others not to practice though! Feel free to do as much as you wish to.

Feeling I am one of the slowest, my laps were somewhere 2:37.xx range. I will practice more, goal is to get solid 2:36 laps without too big mistakes :)

Huge thanks to rosckolove for sparring with me yesterday and showing where the biggest issues were (pretty much every turn...) ;)

edit: one minute here and there... ;)

OP said GVS but those 1.34 times are a bit to fast for the full course  and very slow for the short version

average lap time is 2.34.9xx, best so far was 2.34.580 . driven with the"slowest" miata'89

I think Cu3e meant two minutes - and yes we're doing the full course (speedway)!

there's so much time to get, can't wait till @LongbowX posts some 2.33.xxx times:nervous:
