I really don't want to see you guys go because I've always enjoyed racing with you guys. I of course can't control your decisions but I would be disappointed to not see you on the track anymore @BrandonW77. I'm not going to be able to play racing sims on the PC because I don't have a powerful hard drive

...why is that then, Moving to PC or sticking with PS3 for the foreseeable?

I'm here for the foreseeable future, but one of the main reasons is that GT7 will be on PS4 and so far as I can gather PS4 doesn't support any kind of multi-monitor setup. And even if GT7 manages to get that support, I'm not buying 3 PS4's. I really want to move to PC racing where you have all kinds of features and functions and options and peripherals, but I don't have an extra $1k USD laying around to buy a PC. I've been building up everything else I need (wheel, pedals, shifter, monitors), now all I need is the PC tower to make my rig fully complete. But in the meantime, GT scratches my itch ok. The only thing GT has to offer over proper sims is the car count, but after this many years I've pretty much driven all the cars I want to, so it will be time to move on to the big boy racers as soon as my finances allow it (could be in the next month or not for six months, who knows). But for the time being I'm stuck with you rascals, and racing/chatting with you guys makes up for a lot of GT's shortcomings.

But I do really look forward to having a racing game that I can still play when my friends aren't online!

A Proper PC gaming rig has been on my wish list for several years now, but I just cannot justify the outlay for what could just be 1 or two (racing) games! One of which requires a subscription... yes I'mm talking about you iRacing!!!

There's Asetto Corsa, Project Cars, RFactor, Drive Club, and those are just the new ones. If you go a few years older there's Race07, the old RFactor, GP Legends, and a couple others I can't think of at the moment.

BTW, my wheel is much better now. :embarrassed:

I have project CARS (beta/development kit!) just do not have a decent enough machine to run it... I was running it on my works laptop, but as its a CAD machine it does not have the right graphics card :(

Glad to hear you about your wheel 👍

I've got it dialed in pretty well now and quite like it. Put torque at 8 and sensitivity at 6, then turned the spring and damper up to 1 on the Fanatec to get a little better weight and it feels great. Lots more environmental feedback but with a bit of heaviness. 👍
So now are you happy with update 1.12? :P

I'm happy my wheel feels right again, the new track is nice to cruise on now that I can feel it. Beyond that there isn't much to have an opinion on really. I haven't done Quick Match yet but it sounds a bit of a let down with only one useable race.

I'll never touch the quick match options because this probably or mostly end up in a dirty la sarthe lobby anyway

I would love to get a proper PC but my space is very limited , I'm doing the Iracing stuff almost two years now with the laptop connected via hdmi to my rig , looks a bit like PS3 :indiff:

If we finally found a new house , I'll get a decent man cave and the very first thing is to get a nice triple setup , I'm looking for used Gaming Pc's every day and their pretty cheap imo .

But in the end , I'll never leave my first love Gran Turismo :sly:

(probably, I turn into a cheater when Project cars is released)

So, does everyone else hate FF's too? I'm not real keen on them, they can be fun from time to time but if everyone hates them I won't bother putting them into future rotations. I wanted to at least give them a test though to see what kind of racing we get. I'm trying to cover as much of the spectrum as I can and include lots of different cars, but if there's general apathy about FF's then we can spend our time racing more enjoyable things.

Well you know my feelings on them, maybe it's because the UK has more front wheel drive than rear wheel drive?

Or maybe it's because of spending an age watching these...!

(yes touring cars did include rear and 4wd car)

I don't hate the FF cars as much as I thought I would. I'm more concerned with how many clean drivers we can get to show up and I think FR and 4WD would be better for that.

Yeah, I agree with that. Well, we'll have a quick go with them and then move on to something else. Maybe we'll just do one week with these then.

Just had a very useful practice session after invading @KingKlingeling's room! (Sorry K)

Was able to hit the times needed, and had some closes racing with king, which helped me gauge my cars ability.
I'm using a Daihatsu Copen (at least once), which although very light and nimble runs out off puff towards the top end. Still, faired pretty well against a 2.0l turbo ;)

It does mean I need to run SM tyres on the front to get close enough to the set time. I presume this is still ok @BrandonW77?

Yep, SH, SM or any combination of the two is acceptable. I had to put my Swift on SM to get it on target, but it nails it now (almost too good :nervous:) 👍

I don't hate FFs. Frs and 4wd are better in my opinion but I've never hated ff and I actually enjoy them sometimes because it forces to change your driving style. With the improved FFB, FFS are even more fun to drive. I would rather race more FRs but I would like to race FFs everyonce and a while

Also @BrandonW77 can you edit the car selection? Next to street FFs it says any fr, mr, or RR in parenthesis. It's bothering me and could be confusing to other people. Thank you 👍

[/USER]?

that tiny daihatsu is quite challenging :D
I hope you did'nt got to distracted by our german language
my buddy needs a lot of advices

(and 100hp more than me to get to target .....almost :sly:)

he did'nt figured out a Force Feedback setting for the T500 that fits his style.

my T300 feels absolutely great after the update , especially in the front wheel drive cars, which I ignore normally.
I feel exactly what the tires are doing and when I overdrive them.

Imo they nailed it with the update and I feel sorry for those who struggle with the settings or whatever the problem is :indiff:

Does your friend speak any English? I'm just wondering. Or was it just because since both of you speak german it was just easier and quicker to speak german?

It's gonna be a Real challenge getting past others in the Copen on the straights, so I'll have to make the most of any opportunity in the corners. I nearly gained enough ground to try :)

It was not distracting, I'm used to sitting in meetings listening to your native tongue... Still can't understand enough though, so I kinda switch off!

Alright I think I've got a car dialed in with the wheel. I'm going to use the Alfa Romeo 147 twin spark. It's got 230 hp 195 ft lb of torque and weighs in at 1,057 kilograms. @BrandonW77, what car did you use to set the time and speed again?
