PSN seems Ridiculously slow!!! Just tried downloading of the PS store and things are taking forever. And its not my connection either!

Edit: Either way, i'm done for tonight, and I had a really good car setup to redeem myself with tonight :(

Sorry hobbsy, not sure what was going on. The room wouldn't load, I could see it but couldn't go to any of the controls. Eventually I got the triple-beep, gave it one last go and it suddenly worked fine. :irked:

So the racing went ahead? No worries, I will find some use for my much unloved FF. ;)

My wife and I named him Charles, it sounded sophisticated at the time, but you soon realise that when they get to school, a name carries a lot of Weight. So we call him Charlie now.
But the situation does not improve, Charlie has to wear thicker than average glasses, and has a brace, the kids don't play with him and he is always the last pick in the football line up!
As time goes on i guess he will put his racing days behind him, and find interests in other areas, like a new business idea in the asian market. Most likely he will start up a small company for around $60k,and then 15 yrs later float it on the open market for a tidy profit of $230billion!!!

Either that or I shall just stick him in the Stockyard and he will be lost forever by a random glitch ;)

I would have guessed you'd gone for Oliver. :P

If nobody is too terribly opposed we might go ahead and do the FF's one more week while I get the GT300 cars sorted out. I'd even let @amarynceos select the track. :sly: Because of the limited tuning options and the similar nature of these cars the prep process will be slightly different as will setting the targets. I tested a few of the GT300's around non-chicane Fuji last night and they are pretty similar in stock form and for whatever reason @KingKlingeling and @amarynceos are considerably faster than me (my best in the BRZ was a :48 while amar and king were doing 44's and 45's :odd:) and I have to figure out why before I go about setting targets. I also have to figure out a way to set targets that both the slower guys and faster guys can hit and I don't think using a bone-stock car is the best way to do that (I don't want the faster guys to have to neuter their cars to meet my time).

Another thing to consider is camera view, I'm guessing at least a few of you will use "bumper cam" because most of these cars' cockpit views are obstructed by internal scaffolding in one way or another. In my quick test last night bumper cam can be up to 2 seconds faster than cockpit view (especially in the RX-7 where you can't see anything out the right half of the car) and I'm going to have to take this into account when setting the targets as I've been using cockpit view for parity racing. So I'm thinking I will probably need to do a stage 1 engine upgrade on the target car and use middle d/f settings when I'm setting the targets, this should produce a time/top speed that everyone can reach one way or another. I should have time to mess about with things this evening and could use the help of a test subject or two if anyone is around.

So, what say you about one more round with the FF's? I could do another round with them but after that they can go in the stockyard as far as I'm concerned. They're a fun change of pace, but not something I want to race again any time soon.

Well they get my Vote... Just point me in the right direction ;)

Charlie the CR-Z can keep the dust cover off for 1 more week then :)

I actually enjoyed the FFs so sure lets run them again. I might be around tonight for testing. Just give me an idea of when you will be on when you get the chance.

Thought to share this video ,it was one of the most exciting parity races I have done.:sly:

It also shows the importance of cars dialed in with the correct speed and laptime.
The number 1 racer in this video was under target and raced a time trial.:D

GAH! My eyes! Modern cars, vintage cars, wanged cars, and trucks all racing together!  That was some good action though, most of the pack still nose-to-tail at the end. I'm guessing the winner didn't quite understand the parity concept? How did you guys deal with that situation?

I'm fine with either Brands Indy or GP. 👍
I was actually thinking of suggesting another go with the FFs while we get the GT300s sorted, my Civic turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected. :)

A little practice session has confirmed for me, however, that FFs at AR continue to be more a chore for me than anything and deliver absolutely zero pleasure. See you all at the next track, I'm sitting this round out.

Who are you and what have you done with our @amarynceos?? :odd: :lol::lol: I kid. I dislike FF's as much as anyone but every time I've raced them I've enjoyed them way more than I expected I would. 👍 I'll give them a sling around Brands Indy tonight and see what the targets should be, I wouldn't think much prep time will be needed to get them on pace. Then I'll tinker around with some GT300's and see what the scoop is with those.

Oh, how about the Brands circa 80's track then? Is that available for online? I really like the Hawthorne (maybe for passing?) and Westfield right handers of the GP course, but I'm in for any of them.

The guys in the room made some remarks and that was enough for the next event to go on par...

BTW in for another FF race,I hope with tire sound this time.:)

Ford Focus is washed and oiled.👍

NO... :sly:

Graham Hill Bend in the 80's layout always throws me, I don't like it as much as the current layout.

I am very curious about the GT300 but not sure I can handle them. Let alone tune them...

I will try tonight few laps maybe I get a kick out of them 👍

In my opinion, they're super easy to drive, loads and loads of grip even on sports tyres and lots of fun. The Garaiya's about the only one that can get a little cranky sometimes. These are probably my favourite group of cars in the game. :D

Giving up on the Copen then?
Well after the spanking it got three times in a row, I'm thinking that maybe it's not really working.
If we end up running the indy circuit at Brands, I don't think it will be suited here either...I think HP will rein victorious there.

So a switch to the Honda my be well placed, it's running pretty sweet too... Although it does have one legality (maybe, depending on the rulebook) problem!!!

I will still try and make the Copen work, but this time I will be better prepared and react accordingly ;)

I'm the opposite, I make a mess of Graham in the current version but breeze through the 80's layout.

They are very easy to drive, almost too easy, even on sport tires. They must have mega downforce, you just point and mash the throttle and it goes right where you want. On sport tires they can at least get a little loose, but not much.

And what might that be? I can consult the rulebook and get back to you. :dopey:

B, you are right, it is pretty easy. Splitting the default Toe values in half, stiffening the suspension a bit and abs0. Makes me forget about huge wang up back :D
