And while I'd much rather have Biden in the White House over Trump, it doesn't mean I'm going to vote for him since that's like saying "I'd rather have cancer than full-blown AIDS."

This should be the sentiment in the US by now, but for some strange reason the feeble minded still think that Biden will change politics. A weasel that has been in politics for what, 50 years now? And now he will change the very thing he helped create? His friends sponsors in DC won't like that.

I haven't seen a single person in this thread post anything to suggest that Joe Biden is going to bring about radical, sweeping changes (to the policies that he and the Obama administration cultivated during their 8 years in power). In fact, the biggest critics of Biden from the left, are disappointed that he's the candidate and are resigned to the fact that it will be more of the same, instead of actually stepping further in that direction. But these are certainly changes to policies Trump either put in place or attempted to put in place. So in that sense, yes, changes would be coming under a Biden presidency.

I was going to reply to @jjaisli About Joe not being radical. I was initially going to post about Kamala who is pretty radical.

But then I went and had a look of Biden's website.
joebiden.com: He’ll triple funding for Title I, the federal program funding schools with a high percentage of students from low-income families. This will eliminate the funding gap between white and non-white districts, and rich and poor districts.
What the hell is a white school district?

I don't understand Democrats obsession with race.
Biden has a different plan for:
WOMEN
LGBTQ+
BLACK COMMUNITY
LATINO COMMUNITY
THE ASIAN AMERICAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER COMMUNITY
INDIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY
INDIAN COUNTRY
MUSLIM-AMERICAN COMMUNITIES
JEWISH COMMUNITY
CATHOLIC COMMUNITY
Sorry for yelling, I copied from the website.
I can't think of anything more racist than dividing people up based on their race.

Oh, and here is nine seconds of Kamala being radical.

Acknowledging that each race & religion has individual issues that can be addressed separately instead of a 1-size-fits-all approach is racist? Or ignoring that there's also plans for essential workers, students, veterans, disabled, & rural America?

It's clear everything is divided to make it easier for each person to find out exactly what Joe is promising for them, but hey, don't let your obsession with race obscure that.

There seems to me more of us that are tired of being quiet. Call us dumb all you want.
If you speak up in the right places on the forum, then people will debate with you all you want. Unless debate isn't what you're after.

It wasn't 'real' socialism! Textbook example of an Appeal to Purity fallacy aka No True Scotsman. The amount of times it's been tried & failed reminds me of the saying, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

I suppose 'real' Socialism would be some form of Democratic Socialism...

Nazis Clarify They're Only Calling For 'Democratic Nazism'

ARLINGTON, VA—At a press conference on Thursday, American Nazi Party leader Emmett Scoggins told reporters that his group is not trying to instate full-on Nazism, but a much better system called “democratic Nazism.”

“People have us all wrong,” Scoggins explained. “We love democracy. We want people to be able to freely vote and have a voice at the ballot box.”

Reporters asked Scoggins if, under democratic Nazism, people could just use their democratic voting rights to vote against Nazism. He replied, “No, they could not. That wouldn’t be one of the things you could vote for.” He then clarified, “The things you could vote for would be stuff like how Nazi should we go? Double-Nazi? Triple-Nazi? Nazi-nine-thousand? The choices would be endless, but of course all Nazi choices.”

Scoggins was questioned about the use of the word “democratic” and how democratic Nazism was any different from plain-old Nazism. “The main difference is we add the word ‘democratic’ on there because people like that word a lot more than just plain ‘Nazi,’” Scoggins said. “We’ve added the word to all of our unpopular practices. Democratic racism, democratic beat-downs, democratic censorship, democratic genocide. All of those things poll much higher if we call them democratic.”

The conference ended with a long speech from Scoggins about everything wrong with America, the need for democratic Nazism, and an impassioned appeal on how “real” Nazism has never been tried.

Ho hum, another day, another virtually frictionless vote-dems-and-you'll-be-eating-your-own-pets slippery slope fallacy.

Does it always get this crazy around here at election time?

Are there any centrists in this thread/on this board....
Centrists aren't allowed to exist anymore.

Not choosing from either option of "kill these commies, ain't wearin' no mask right wing, everything progressive is Stalin" and "kill these Nazis, everything I don't like is racist, all conservatives are Hitler loving hicks" is tantamount to the worst political crime of all - being a pussy

We won't abide that. No sir. Please choose your side in the oncoming World Championships of My Politics Are Right™ brought to you by KIA.

We will be bombing no man's land into a toxic swamp, so it won't be a very nice place to be, there in the middle.

Just make sure you have your trusty weapon - no, put that gun away, you idiot, I meant your camera phone and Twitter account.

Since the whole western world political spectrum has shifted to the right in the last twenty or so years and there hasn't been a mainstream political party that is truly left wing, i would say that most people here who consider themselves to be not in support of the right are actually more centralist then they are left wing.

I don't disagree about political parties, but I feel fewer centrist individuals exist than in, say, the late 90s/early 00s.

People's political sentiments have only grown more extreme on each side. The internet gives people the perfect platform for foamy-mouthed vitriol, and the resultant dehumanisation of the opposition only pushes the needle further.

A reprehensible state of affairs - point scoring IS more important than reasoned debate on both sides of the fence.

Quick look into their post history seems to suggest you're basing this on their result in the political compass thread.

Is that a valid measurement I wonder or was that a tongue in cheek post ;)
Just point scoring. ;)

Which system of measurement would you use? Perhaps you already took the test and found that the result may not have put you dead centre?

I hate to say it, but I beg to differ, considering I liken homeowners' associations to Soviet Russia.

My guess is I'd end up farther right now than I did when I last took the test in the political compass thread. Props to @HenrySwanson , I still haven't found my post in the political compass thread.
Looks like you found it since then judging by your reply in the thread.
