Someone wasn't really impressed:

I love how the guy full heartedly acknowledges that more was bitten off than could be chewed, but than he earlier had things in there like the upshift sounds that would've required MORE WORK to chew on as you'd need to simulate drivetrain shunts and so on.
The points are fair but the game was not put together haphazardly as he claims. Unless 3.5 years is haphazardly?

Meh... I don't get the guy in the end. It feels to me like he's a bit butt hurt that not everything was achieved that he hoped could have been achieved. He mentions that he mentioned certain things 1 to 1.5 years ago, but at that point the game was already feature locked (i.e. nothing new was to be added). Which meant a lot of things did not make it and every WMD member had still a bucket full of wishes for SMS to implement, but at some point you've got to finish up the job.

Compared to other PC sims, Project CARS (May 2015) suffers from the same lack of polish - NONE of the PC sims are perfect but I like every one in my library (pCARS, AC, rFactor 2, R3E, and GSCE), each excel in a number of areas. The major AAA console titles are more polished as a whole but lack in the physics, FFB, or racing sim features. I will take the bad with the good as the good is so much better than the console racers, just saying.

But despite all these little issues, with time patches will be released to address the problems.... No game is perfect, and bearing in mind how big this game is, SMS have done an excellent job with it!

PS: For sure this bloke is a Gran Turismo fan!! :P:P

come on...the game was delayed 6 months for further polishing.....I got burnt by Codemasters and their F1 games...always expecting a patch to fix this and that....a game will never change much from its original release, there is just so much a patch can do....

But the Codemasters of today is very different from before... Only yesterday they announced and released DIRT Rally, without anyone knowing it existed, but F1 2015 was announced 5 weeks ago and still no gameplay videos..... Codies are a joke tbh! GTA5 on the PS3/XBOX 360 has had 20 or more patches to improve things...And it's already been confirmed that PCARs is a long term project that will be tweeked and improved, as well as new cars/tracks added too! Have a little faith, and the day 1 patch will help improve things i'm sure!

I hope you are right! =]

That isn't fair hammy, games normally take far more than 5 weeks to show any gameplay.

But the game has been in development for a long time, and 2 weeks ago it was shown to the gaming press, including Alan from TeamVVV.... therefore game footage exists..... Codies are hiding something....The game is on pre order on Steam and releases on 12th June...

They aren't, they're just not ready to show. Forza 6 was announced almost 4 months ago. Then there's other games like rise of the tomb raider, just cause 3, Sebastian loeb rally evo etc, all with no gameplay footage still. It's regular for it to take this long.

Maybe..... Lol!! ;)

I dare you guys to post a video here where you have set the AI level to 100%, full grid, full damage, etc., etc., Azure Circuit (Monaco), 10 laps, start at the back of the grid and finish first. ;)

Day one patch is good but patches after that CAN take forever on the consule side . Pc patch is no problem though

Disappointed to hear about the lower tier a.i. perhaps they should have scaled it in relation to the skill level we enter at the beginning of the game ( rookie, amateur,or pro or whatever it is ).
'If' i find it too easy I'll try to even it out by running with full fuel or something.

yeah thats a work around i suppose. hard tyres and full fuel.... and if were still too quick put on some inters haaa

Is this night? Looks very bright.
2:00 AM if I recall correctly. That bright part is where the moon is (I think) because it's only that bright in that spot, not in others. This video gives a better impression on how dark it is, especially when out in the open road where there are no streetlights (and no headlights, because racecar).
