I do wonder what the hype will be in the coming months for PCARS, will it be on the Forza Level? or will it be along the lines of AC? (never herd about it til it came out.) In my honest opinion, things get more hyped when they're adverted more on TV. Thats just me though..

I partially agree with what he is saying. Hype nowadays can indeed become a problem for a game. For pcars though, I m not so sure. There is not too much hype to begin with and you basically know what you ll be getting at this point - either that makes you excited, or not.

I disagree with his statements regarding car and especially track selection, though. Name me another sim/racing game with GT4s, Ginettas, LMP2s, Oulton, Cadwell, Snetterton, Watkins, Zhuhai... Not to mention all the awesome stuff to come after release.

Agreed. I don't feel there is any hype behind Pcars; there is no advertising(so far) or any preconceived expectations because it's a brand new title, along with a newer way of developing a game. Most people I know are dismissive of Project CARS or have never heard of it.

I also completely disagree with car and track selection. I think they are great; as long as people understand Project CARS is shooting to be a racing sim. An un-Godly amount of production road cars doesn't really fit into that category.

Saw the EmptyBox video and I'd have to agree generally that it's never good to buy into hype for anything. I don't expect PCars to set the world on fire, I expect numerous teething problems in spite of all the testing so far. I expect issues with some of the handling models, issues online, glitches, patches all kinds of stuff that's normal in any game, especially a brand new one on a brand new system. What I expect that's positive is more of a simulation type atmosphere for the game as a whole, a good physics model, good FFB, good sounds and all the other stuff that has been talked about outside the hype and much of which I've already had video confirmation of. I don't find any of that qualifies as "hype" perse.

One point of contention is that I'd have to say the track list is very, very good. A great mix of big and small, mainstream and eclectic, old and new, and a good selection of both Kart and Oval tracks. More to come after launch I'm sure. Certainly blows anything else on console into the weeds.

I hope @GumShoe video was against AI too. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who looses it in the section after the long straight!

Yup but I hope it is not the hardest level of the AI because it still look like you can overtake a whole field in 1 lap. If we imagine a 20-30 lap race on the schleife then you have 20 laps nothing to do when overtaking is done.

I had 10 lap races in Assetto corsa where I was trying to become 9th out of 10 cars in 10 laps and that was really challenging and fun to me :) and the AI level was at 96% so I still have a space upwards when I get better one day.

Comparison dual view with interior and exterior camera, of graphics and sounds, between Project CARS and Assetto Corsa. Its a lap at Silverstone International with the Pagani Zonda R.

Pcars sounds way more like you're actually there with the car, the 3rd person sound is just so damn nice, and I do believe accurate. Win-win :)

Yeah nice vid.

pCars looks and sounds better imo

It's surprising how all these sims/simcade games have quite different sounds, GT is probably the worst out of all the current racers but I'd be interested to see what methods they all use.

Trust me, the Atom in game is more than tail happy enough!

Yeap. We dont know if driver was using assists.
For comparaton video id expect player to drive slowly, keeping in line and then adjust speed to match other vid.
If you guys wanna see how Ariel handles in pCARS i recommend this test drive by ISR (after 5:30)
