Going gold doesn't mean much. There will be day one patch to update the game to the latest version and that's it.

It doesn't? They're putting their hard work out there for public consumption. What is on that disk (or your download) is what people will be playing save for a few tweaks via a day one patch. Assuming they'll be able to give us major changes on day one is very wishful thinking.

Wow, maybe it's the video, but there are times when I can't even make out where the track is due to the sun glare effects, how the heck do you stay on course without crashing or is it just harder to see in the video than when you are actually playing??

Looks great, but I really, really hope that lens flare is an option you can turn off in the console versions. Blinding sunlight is fine, but lens flare completely obliterates any sense of immersion.

By the way, I think I like the "loose" cam the best, in your previous post. I would raise the camera, though, so the car is further from the middle of the screen and you can see down the track more easily.

You can turn the lens flare to be "smaller" or you can turn it off completely. And thanks for the feedback on the chase cam.. especially about raising the point of view.

I'm quite familiar with the track, but I did have little trouble keeping a good line :D But the vid shows it exactly like it was when I was playing (direct capture). Fun! :P

If only Project Cars had the insane destruction model Next Car Game uses. So far destruction in PC looks pretty meh.

A very simple answer to this.

Beam NG and Next Car Game both use own car models and no real life cars that needs to be licensed. When Project CARS gained new licenses different license holders (read: car brands) had different demands in terms of damage model. They simply don't want to see their cars damaged.
Now with certain brands being very understanding and leaving it unrestricted for realism purposes, some others were pretty strict. In the end we (SMS and WMD) could choose two things either A) Have different amounts of car damage per different car brand, or B) Equalize the amount of damage across the board.
The choosen option was B as it was weird to be able to drive 1 car totally to hell, and another having little to no damage. I mean, even you guys would go 'complete WTF?!' on that one if that were to happen in the release version.

So yeah, it sucks but it's a license restriction kinda thing. I hope you understand.

Commentary is not the case imo, but lack of technical ability of 2D sites to show 3D fun with Oculus. Simply new way of presenting such footage is a need. Now it's barely watchable (agree easier with commentary).

Sunset battle of classics (Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth Group A 1988 ) Group A at Zolder.
Sierra has some amazing straight speed, turbo kicks like it should. Meanwhile is more demanding in cornering. Historic tires don't like overheating, so have to treat it with some respect.
Whole this class is again perfect for online club racing. Driving it is so much fun that even last place doesn't hurt.

I'll do the ice bucket challenge AND actually donate to ALS research if someone posts something more than hot lapping videos. Dying to see some actual full length races with complete features.

I´ve seen a handfull AI race videos but none of them were good. Seems like the AI cant even drive one clean lap? I hope pcars will get on the level of Assetto Corsa. I have soo incredibly much fun in AC with the AI. On 100% it is really a brutal challenge for me to even hold up with the AI. You can fight over 10 laps just to get 0.500 closer to the AI car in front. That is what I am looking for in an racing sim.

I have seen no videos from Pcars where the gamer have a great challenge with an AI car over 2-3 laps. I hope I am wrong and there are videos out there. Because I´ve seen AI races where the AI looks like a placeholder and is easy to overtake.

Those kind of things have been around for a while:

Though not really relevant now due to the age of the builds.

I've been watching a lot of your videos on YouTube. I subscribed to your channel a while back. Thank you for all your great coverage for I don't have access to the game. It gets me by.

Hi
Thank you, soon you will enjoy the game;)

a greeting

full length races showing working pits, pit strategy, tire wear, flags, penalties,

It's big project, personally i don't even know what is already working (and on what stage) and whats not. Simply don;t have enough time to follow all my subbed threads...
Also as every pre alpha it's not rock stable software and freezes, exceptions etc occurs quite often. Thats normal.
Together with demanding hardware requirements i doubt i can record 1h race and have enough luck not to die in battle with WIP AI's.

For sure theres lot of smarter guys than me, so hopefully somebody will post such footage.
Maybe it's easier online, didn't checked it since June?
