Except I didn't say both cars had this issue, I actually praised them on the job they did with Mercedes Sauber C9.

Also at the time, that was the latest direct capture video I could find at the time. If they have been saying they would fix the Gear timing (not sound, which seems it seems people are getting mixed up), then I do apologize. Its just something I noticed and its in no way me attacking the game.
If I might ask, how exactly does one time a 2/1000ths of a second difference?

I used a Stopwatch/timer app on my smartphone. Its abit tricky I'll admit, but I listened carefully for that transition between gears and press the button to time it.

You're not trolling right? You believe with a hand stopwatch that you can time a difference of 2/1000th of a second?

I'm not trolling, I actually tried. I was honestly was under the impression that I somehow could and that it'd better explain what I'm on about rather then me just make up an arbitrary issue with nothing behind it, but I'm guessing by your post that its not at all possible. As I mentioned before, I wasn't trying to attack the sim.

I believe you're sincere, and I believe there is a difference in shift timing although I didn't test it myself, I'm just finding it hard to believe that you think your reactions are both so quick and so accurate that you can hand time 2/1000th's of a second:odd:. You realize that's not humanly possible right? I'm assuming you're not aware of the general inaccuracy of handheld timing so just in case you're looking for proof:

However, absolute errors were considerably larger (0.15 +/- 0.20 and 0.16 +/- 0.19 between SST, MST, and ET, respectively). The HHS-recorded splits were faster than ET in 67.3% of splits and slower in 29.4%. The distribution of errors made the development of a reliable correction factor to convert HHS to ET impossible.
That's an error range of 350/1000ths for both Single Split timers and and Multi-Split Timers vs. Electronic Timing.

Although this is in French it does show lots of the setup menus along with a Caterham race.

Here's a look at karting also in build 852. It's not the best quality and only 720p but right at the start is a sneaky glance at what appears to be a career calendar. This is exactly the sort of thing I've been hoping for in career.

This is stunning. It's the intros to a lot more of the cars in the game. It's not my video and am happy to remove the link if it's considered off limits. It could be considered a spoiler but if you've got 40 minutes spare is worth watching on a big screen.

I definitely wasn't aware of that (sorta shatters what I always thought). I couldn't think of any other way to do it. I don't claim I can do anything amazing, I just did what was the only method I could do (you know, for science).

Haha, the 0-100 km/h time for the Superkart is 1.90 seconds :eek::eek::eek:

For me, the whole sound thing not matching real life, and poor downshift noise, it doesn't bother me. This is a minor MINOR thing that can be overlooked for other issues. For example, saw a video 2 or 3 pages back with an ai car that was glitching out of control doing multiple flips. Obviously would not happen irl (only about 50mph not even a turn), was hoping if anyone had insight on this?

Work in progress just like every video at this point. They are working furiously to correct all the flaws in the game and that's why it was delayed until March. Just wasn't ready as we can obviously tell from videos like that.

^ It may also be worth mentioning that with the delay, things have been rescheduled and priorities have changed. With the given 4 month 'buffer', issues that were super urgent for 21/11 may have been pushed forward to better fit the overall progress so that it all can come together in a more harmonious way instead of being forced by haste.

It's looking very good I've gotta say.

Engines sound fake though. Especially the down revs and sound between shifts. Not convincing at all.

Hope they refine this aspect before release.

And why is there a tranny whine on that stock Evo X?

I'm surprised that gt6 isn't that bad after all... I mean beside graphical touchs in lights, fps and sound. Btw my sound doesn't THAT bad :D must be the settings.

Project CARS gameplay with three simultaneous cameras. The video is with the Mercedes A45 AMG at Azure Coast track (stage 1) at night and thunderstorm.
