I can see why the Aston would be rare over there, I see a few here though.

I was passed on the A12 last Saturday by an orange Lotus Exige S2. I didn't even know they'd been released yet.

Hmm, I've read some mixed reviews on this car. Aparently it isn't what you'd expect from an Exige, yet still a really good car.

I saw a 575M today, along with a BMW 8 series, couldn't catch the model no. though...

Yeah I almost could not believe it was there. Where do you live?

Oops! Blew my cover!:D

I've seen any number of rare cars.
In my youth I lived about 15 minutes from Laguna Seca Raceway, and on the Vintage race weekends, all sorts of cool stuff was out.
One day I was on my way into Monterey when three non-replica AC Cobras passed on the other side of the freeway.

Plus, Pebble Beach was 15 minutes further out than Seca. Concours was cool!!

Plus, there was a place on Del Monte blvd. (Across from the Naval Postgraduate School) in Monterey that had all sorts of cool stuff. Lola's, Old McLaren's, etc.

Schumi's 2002 F1 being shown at a garage in my area is definitely the rarest car I've ever seen. But it wasn't actually driven.
Otherwise I suppose it's the Jag E-type (Mk III) I saw last month.

Usually kit cars have different wheels then the original wheels. Or if they can find some original wheels. The other way is they have oversized roll bars on their too, it looks like it belongs on a raised truck.

Going to school across from an engineering firm is great. Within 5 parking spots there is a Blue/White Stripes Viper GTS, a blue RX8, a silver RX7, a silver Porsche Boxter, and another silver Porsche.

'bout the Cobra

Well, driving by it is kinda hard to tell what material the body is. Same with the wheels. I remember that they weren't big wheels, sorta smallish, donut-like tires. The roll hoops I can't remember much of. The cage certainly wasn't a cage. Maybe just 2 little hoops behind the seats? I also remember it was LOUD for a street car.

EDIT: Saw a Maserati Coupe today. Pretty rare for the 'burbs of Montreal, Quebec.

I saw a Silver 911 Turbo, 360 Modena (however u spell it) and a immaculate Mustang it would of been 1970 something which is quite rare in aus, it was black and with yellow strips. I saw all this in a space off 20mins in the same area.

This isn't exactly rare because my dad owns one but they are generally rare because rarely anyone down here see's one or has ever heard of one...which is a Roush. I was coming back with my dad in his Dark Shadow Grey Ford Roush Mustang Stage 2 and he needed some gas. When we were pumping gas I saw at the intersection a silver stage 2 Roush. It came into the gas station and parked next to us. Now that is rare seeing 2 Roushs right next to each other. That is rare untill we go to Frontier Ford sometime to go get the Roush signed by Jack Roush. That will be exciting.:)

You might look at the interior.
A "genuine" Cobra 427 will have a "funky" shifter that usually isn't duplicated in the replicars.
In the original 427 the shifter comes out of the floor/console near the driver's elbow, and the shifter ball is way forward. It's more of a pull up, push down affair. It's awkward looking, but works really well.

Is the Cobra's tranny at the back near the diff, like the vette? Of does it just have a weird engine/firewall positioning?

Isn't it called a pistol grip shifter, Gil?

You're thinking about the Mopar "Super Bee". It has a 4-speed with a "pistol grip" shifter.
The Cobra is just a case of a small car stuffed with a HUGE engine. The shifter just comes out of the tranny tunnel at the drivers elbow, and is bent forward instead of backward. So your pull back into a gear is more of a pull upwards. I've never driven one, but it's said that once it's mastered it's very fast. The Cobra (427) was capable of 0-100-0 in under 13 seconds.

I was in france over the summer and there was a 71 mustang 302 convertible, white with black stripes. That was the last thing I expected to see in a nation full of books that bash the u.s.

It made my day. then the next day there was a purple 80's chevy silverado with an american flag on the roll bars. Funny stuff. it was parked next to a smart car.

I also saw 2 BMW Z1's:
-One in Makati, Philippines (black)
-And one in L.A. (dark blue)
