EDIT: I think missed the OP
Yes, you did. Like so many others.
This gives me GT5 trailer vibes. :D
Why no
Why no Scapes? They are made for photos.
There is a separate thread for scapes. When 80% of the photo you take is an actual photo it's a different category.
This. There are other threads for scapes. I want realistic shots from actual racing in this thread. Which gives you more artistic freedom in camera placement, etc.
If you don’t like it, feel free to look in the other threads where scapes are allowed. ;)

Whoops. This ended up as a double post. I was so sure I edited my first post. Oh well.

This looks just like a scapes pic. Nice.
Tunnel in SSRX :D

Yep. The tunnel shot looks exactly like a scapes location.
I didn't say I didn't like it but you can't be surprised when people post a scapes shot when do many of the shots here lol like scapes. When everything on the screen is computer generated, including the photographed elements, there really is no difference between scapes and race pics. It's all pixels. The tunnel pic proves that point very clearly.
So the no scapes requirement looks kind of silly.
😉
I mean come on how can you say that there are no differences between scape and race photo's 😅 . This took me 5 sec to capture

There is no way you can match that in race photomode, lets be honest.

Impossible to match, the tents on the right behind your car is missing in the scapes vs in race. :sly:

The idea is to blur what’s real and what’s 3D graphics. The scapes are photographs with 3D cars on top. Replay photos are just 3D.

It’s not just down to pixels. It’s what those pixels form. A photo taken by PD with a car pasted on top, or your very own photo composed entirely by you.

It might sound silly, but that’s just because you’re missing the point.

Again: feel free to take your photos elsewhere. Here we take realistic race photos. Not ‘real photos with 3D on top’.
If someone else is confused, they should read the OP. For the first time, or second time, or tenth time. No need to complain.

Should we allow real photos of race cars or whatever in the LEC too then, because it is down to pixels? Should I run a theme of company cars? I could easily win if I post a photo of a company car with the logo I designed for them, with the livery I designed for them. It’s my work; but it’s a real photo. See what I mean? It doesn’t belong.
To add to this, that tunnel pic has a crucial example of why scapes are different:

All of those shiny scuff marks on the tunnel are tiled, and pretty obviously at that. Absolute perfect pattern repetition like that just doesn't happen in real life, and it's little imperfections like that that add up to make scapes "feel" more real.

I think a key point here is that Scapes Photos are more 'realistic' by default because they contain real photography/locations, whereas Race photos are harder to achieve a realistic tone with and often require a bit more effort.

I would respectfully suggest that the thread could be retitled "Realistic Race Photos thread" just to make it clearer that this is what the thread is for, but I'll leave it to the discretion of the thread starter what the title is and what the intention of the thread is - as should everyone.

Done.

End of discussion. Continue on topic please.
