The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

Yeah... there we go. Finally a YouTube account capable of uploading 10 minute videos.

You express some good ideas like the pitting under caution policy. I think moving to timed races would help alleviate the last lap caution fears. I like the points system here. I personally don't think it needs to be changed, but here is the Grand-Am system.

1st - 35 points 11th - 20 points 21st - 10 points
2nd - 32 points 12th - 19 points 22nd - 9 points
3rd - 30 points 13th - 18 points 23rd - 8 points
4th - 28 points 14th - 17 points 24th - 7 points
5th - 26 points 15th - 16 points 25th - 6 points
6th - 25 points 16th - 15 points 26th - 5 points
7th - 24 points 17th - 14 points 27th - 4 points
8th - 23 points 18th - 13 points 28th - 3 points
9th - 22 points 19th - 12 points 29th - 2 points
10th - 21 points 20th - 11 points 30th - 1 points

Glad I'm not the only one that uses the grand-am site

This weekend, has anyone thought of running some Season 2 practice just before the ITCC, or after the Rolex Season 1 finale?

Both ;) and is Skype like our new go to chatting place? Or is Facebook? Or here?

We can do official steward chats on Skype, and still use GTP for announcements/questions etc. and FB for online storage.

I vote Facebook for chat

Yes but I don't have a Skype

:( hmm, maybe post your ideas on Facebook and here, as the masses will still use this as their main and only source of info.

You post ideas on here and Facebook

We talk about them on Skype

Ok well we need more people liking the Facebook page

Well, not everyone has a Facebook, or is ok with us knowing their real names. But it's more of a stewards thing.

Cnd, your welcome to join us!

Getting off topic again, but has anybody seen the the times on the LeMans Qualification?
Here's the grid:
Capello/Kristensen/McNish-3:25:927. Audi e-Tron
Fassler/Lotterer/Treluyer-3:26:468 Audi e-Tron
Dumas/Duval/Gene-3:26:561 Audi Ultra
Wurz/Lapierre/Nakajima/Buemi-3:27:204 Toyota TS030 Hybrid
Davidson/Buemi/Nakijima-3:28:298 Toyota TS030 Hybrid
Banonomi/Jarvis-3:28:675 Audi Ultra (Privateer Team)
Leventis/Watts/Kane-3:34:243 HPD ARX 03a-Honda
Belicchi/Primat/Bleekemolen-3:35:357 Lola B12/60 Coupe-Toyota
Prost/Jani/Hiedfeld-3:36:876 Lola B12/60 Coupe-Toyota
Ara/Minassian-3:37:149 Dome-Judd

Gonna be a tight race between Toyota TS030 and the Ultra, but I don't think they can compare to the e-Tron since they are the most experienced drivers...

Ok so we should all open the thing when we race so we can know when we have cautions and where the wreck has happend and so we can figure out what the line up is and where the drivers in first wanna start weather its high or low

What thing?

james6653
The group chat

So we all would join a text chat room. Then whenever there is a crash worthy of a caution period, the peoples involved would type in the chat room and we'd all know that way?

Yes

Isn't that just a bit redundant, given that there's a chat system in game, perfectly capable of doing the same job?

Yes but the steward can all privately talk about penalties and stuff to drivers during the race

You're funny, if you think that Stewards are going to drive around at 60 km/h during a race, discussing penalties.

The only way I see it working, is if 60 km/h is our "official caution pace" which is somewhat slow... I know that, because it's the generic speed limit in Canada.

Ok how about 70 MPH that is the freeway speed here in Michigan

It's still not the pace that the game makes you drive at, when chatting in chat box/paused to type...

SO, unless you want to see the stewards chatting, and falling way behind, they either can't chat, or we need to discuss the race pace at 60 km/h. I don't know what else there is, besides just being a pain and wanting people to chat and drive above 60 km/h.

It's simple, that we're EITHER going to have to skip chatting, OR we're going to have to run at 60 km/h.

What other option is there?

Ok ya i guess your right

So, let's wait, and see, TOMORROW, (once Polar can discuss this with us,) and decide on a pace rule for cautions. That's an important part of the cautions.

Yes it is and we need a good system on figuring out where the leader wants to start unless we are doing double file then in that case figure out if the second place driver wants to start on the left or the right for the restart
