The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

The 905 would be a wierd one in a way. Its torque is quite low, especially if we're going to have the weight of DPs the same and your going to lower the bhp some.

Wasn't we going Jaguar, Toyota Minolta and Sauber? If we do, we'll have England, Germany and Japan in the DP class. Wow soo, WW2 anyone?

In GT class we'd end up having America x2, Italy, Germany, and Japan. No British car in GT? No wonder the Germans won it. :D

Bringing this back because we're probably going to need it as a base.... and it saves everyone else having to search high and low like I had to.

We were going either jaguar or Mazda. But I didn't feel like killing his dreams yet, thanks though.

Anyone wanna test some things today and if all of are winners would add me I can get you your winnings

I have added you, and I have two races today which means I can't  I have a 2.4 hour @ Daytona and a 90's Le Mans championship preseason race.

If we are going to test something, does anyone want me to propose settings all the cars must follow? (note: SETTINGS different to SPECS in my eyes. Don't get confused...)

Basically, the idea I had was that everyone's runs the car the same way as everyone else, but this means trusting everyone to not tweak the car in any way. I guarantee one of you will forget, or try to pul a fast one to get the fastest times or whatever, but maybe that's just my scepticism creeping up.

I think everyone needs to be aware of the blatent fact that this testing is ALL ABOUT FEEDBACK. I personally don't give two ****s about times at this point, since after the regulations are set, people can go away with the car they want to race with in Season 2 and tune it however the heck they want within the given specs. THEN we can worry about times in pre-season. At least with this way all the lap times identify is the driver's skill, rather than people suspecting that its down to the tuning that a certain driver is better.

Just my opinion and train of thought explained more thoroughly, if you decide not to do it that way then whatever.

i will send you the third place stuff today

Anthony and I have already tested the DP (group C) cars together. The Sauber, the Nissan R92, the Toyota Minolta, the 787B, the Jag XJR-9. The Sauber, Nissan and Toyota are all good at 500hp 1000kg. The 787B is about .5-1 second slower. The Jag is 1-2 seconds slower.

So the Toyota, Nissan and Sauber would be good?

Did you test the R89C?

Yup, basically the same ballpark as the R92, but why have 2 different Nissan's? That's why I think the R92 is what should be used.

Just checking bc I did not see it on your earlier post about which cars to test. No big deal.

Yeah, Seth's got a good point; if we run one car per class per manufacturer (and two on a team) the Manufacturer's championship doesn't need to be changed much.

Nice! So DP looks like it'll be

Sauber c9
Toyota Minolta
Nissan R92

GT:

Ferrari 458 italia
Audi r8 4.2
Corvette zo6
Dodge viper srt10 acr
Mazda rx8

If you have any problems, say so now!

I would like the Peugeot 905 just so I can remain on Team Peugeot, but if not, I'll probably go for the Sauber C9.

I was thinking with the current car list that I was going to go ahead and reserve a sauber. Shin we can be teammates if you are willing to put up with me.:)

So... Seeing that I don't have the best Minolta, is there anyway that season 2 I can get the R8 4.2 spot? If not, the 458 Italia can suffice....

My advice, Shin, cnd01 seems fast in the ITCC. The Focus isn't the fastest in terms of outright pace, but, cnd is fast when he's in it. I wouldn't ever try to bias a driver into selecting a teammate, but, if you've never raced with cnd closely before, he's a good guy.

I thought we were going on choices by who has the highest point standings from the previous season? That would give priority to the Winners of each class first, then the 2nd place of each class and so on. I also think we NEED to add the Camaro to GT, it's quite a good car. VERY good in fact.

Seth has a good point, but, I don't think Shinshiki OR cnd did too badly. I think they could easily state that they want a specific car, since they got second, and third, in DP...

Naturally, though, I think you could also get a good choice of DP cars, since you want to make that switch from GT to DP. I wish you luck, and also breathe a sigh of relief... But, we won't get into that.

Well my first choice is the Sauber or R92. I think the Sauber has a little advantage though. I'd prefer the Saubers look and colors, but I love the Japanese and Nissan is a great company. So I think I'll take the R92.

I like the styling of all of the Group C cars. I just can't drive them well.

Okay, maybe around 515 hp I could try to handle it, but, they rev so quickly! :ouch:
