The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

It's more a matter of the abrupt torque curves, and my complete lack of throttle sensitivity on the DS3 trigger.

LMP's and Group C cars use traction control, so it's not a bad thing if you use it as well. I do, I have no problem with it, just run it at 2.

Hahaha, and be stuck in another season with you? I didn't realize how much you were going to dominate the series, when I invited you to be my teammate. :) Otherwise, the move worked, and helped me secure the win at Indy, and helped Audi clinch the Manufacturer's and Drivers' Championships.

I was thinking with the current car list that I was going to go ahead and reserve a sauber. Shin we can be teammates if you are willing to put up with me.:)

Let's decide on how we are going to choose the cars first. I wouldn't mind being your teammate though.

They only have 5 gears, so they don't go ripping through them the way the new LMPs do.

Yet another reason why I like the Peugeot 905.

So an idea I had for selection is this:

The order people will select cars is by points finishing order. People that want to switch classes must announce their switch before this Saturday. Those that switch will select their car last for their new class. Anyone in GT can say they want to keep the same car they used last season.

And would anyone have any problems with the corvette being switched with the camero?

What about those whom want to wait and see whom's competing in each class before making their decisions?

Myself? Just waiting to see what everyone else chooses to be honest

I thought we were going on choices by who has the highest point standings from the previous season? That would give priority to the Winners of each class first, then the 2nd place of each class and so on. I also think we NEED to add the Camaro to GT, it's quite a good car. VERY good in fact.
Sticking with GT Seth? Sounds like it.

Nirv, I reckon you can just ask for yourself to be skipped until last, if you want to do that. Just my thoughts, though.

FH, How comes you wanted the ACR axed? Wasn't you testing it for next season?

I'm down with whatever anyone else wants to do, although how are we going to go about regulating the cars? I'm guessing since I got **** all feedback on my idea that everyone thinks it a **** one, so.... ideas?

my advice, shin, cnd01 seems fast in the itcc. The focus isn't the fastest in terms of outright pace, but, cnd is fast when he's in it. I wouldn't ever try to bias a driver into selecting a teammate, but, if you've never raced with cnd closely before, he's a good guy.

+1

I still like the viper. But the camaro handles better IMO. I think I want to choose a car that is an underdog though. Already been in the Vette, Audis won it all this season and the Ferrari is fast IMO.

Even if it finished last

The 458 was last? Cant go by that though. Polar was the only one on it right? And from what I've seen he's had connection issues lately.

Ya he did really good for being by himself

Connection issues every race... I never finished ;( at fugi I was leading when I disconnected... The car is definitely fast, it just needed to finish.

To be honest, the Ferrari IS pretty good. I have to admit that I noticed the Camaro was handling better. The thing that concerns me is that the Camaro is pretty heavy even after being stripped of weight, but the weight looks better distributed, more akin to a MR car if I'm honest.

If people want the ACR axed then I can't really say much.

I think you need to keep the acr and swap the camaro with the corvette.

IMO, its a like for like swap in many ways. I found 1:44.2 in pre-season around Daytona in the Vette, over a second ahead and I think I had the power dropped lower than the 500 bhp it did have, I think the Camaro was at the 1:45's with more weight and less power which stirred a lot of "what ifs", since its handling was amazing. Anyone who remembers Daytona remembers that I lost it on turn one... ALOT! Not in the Camaro or the Vette, though, to my knowledge.

I'm not against seeing the Camaro in this one. I am sorta against the "less-than-common" cars, that we don't see often in the Rolex Series, after Daytona. Sure, there's ONE Corvette (#31 Whelen Racing) but, after that, there're more Camaros than Corvettes, and even fewer Vipers.

But, well, Storm was doing OK in the Viper Coupe, the Viper ACR should give him even more chances. :) And, I can tell you, that Storm is somewhat quick, as a driver, so if he struggled in the Coupe, maybe there was a reason, and the ACR will be more competitive.

I only really want to see one thing: Camaros, Mazdas, Ferraris and Audis. After that, it's up to you guys, whether we include the Viper, Corvette, or M3.

Those are the four cars that regularly race in every race. There are rumors of a viper team for the full schedule next season. Marsh Racing runs the Whelen Corvette. Turner Motorsports runs a M3. The Lotus Evora GTC will compete this season. Storm already ran the viper this season. FH wants to run it also. I would say we vote for 2 of those. I think the viper and M3 are the most practical. Also to reiterate, swap the corvette with the camaro.

So another updated list:

DP:

Nissan r92
Sauber c9
Toyota Minolta

GT:

Chevy camero
Audi r8 4.2
Viper acr
Ferrari 458
Mazda rx8

Seems like a great list if i may say so myself!

Yep. I would vote Viper and Evora, personally. :) After driving the BMW Fat3, I know that it's a little too heavy... And, at the level of competition, that the other cars are running at, it might not be the best; it might be bad on tires, and not on full pace.

Otherwise, could we "rename" the DP cars? Just sorta call the Nissan R92 the Riley Chassis, or something?

+1 I was thinking the same thing. Nissan Riley, Mercedes Coyote, and Toyota Dallara.

It is a very solid list. Have you guys decided on DP official specs yet.

I suggest the Audi R8 5.2 not the 4.2 as this season's Audi. It's heavier (less advantage) but more torque to challenge the Camaro and Viper's levels.
