Bad news, I might miss the race tomorrow because my family wants to go somewhere. For the upteenth time. :grumpy: This'll be a huge blow for Audi. Cost us some good points. I might make it, but I'm just being too optimistic, I probably won't be able to make it. :banghead:

Unexpectedly, I might not be able to come tomorrow either. Family activities have a tendency to vary in length.

Don't leave me alone!!!! NOOOOOOO! :( :grumpy:

SCDP will be there in full force, I believe. I am calling it a night. Work early tomorrow morning.

Speedsource Mazda spotted at Daytona in preparation for the Rolex 24 at Daytona

Speedsource Mazda RX-8 driver Markus Weiss was spotted at Daytona today, quickly practicing for the big race. His teammate, Damu E. Mogirl was not seen, and it's believed that he has a cold, and is recuperating before the big race, in order to be fully prepared for the actual race.

Markus has stated (in earlier interviews,) that he feels that Speedsource Mazda has a big chance in winning the championship this season too. With help from the newly formed "Winter Stars Tuning Garage," a separate company with a talent for tuning cars to have race pace while still protecting tires, it seems that this team will have a big chance at the series. Subscribe to this thread, or follow Markus on Facebook for more info.

Too lazy to go back and read. What time is everything getting started tomorrow? Were pushing things back for Tez right?
Start is 7:30pm GMT -5 / 00:30am GMT; half an hour later than scheduled.

I'll miss qualifying, but to be fair, I'ma be fine starting at the back of the GT grid. Since its a 2-hour thing, I'll try to use that as an advantage.

Death in turn 1? Thank you for the lead

I know what you mean, you're not sneaky at all.

With the upcoming race at Daytona, much discussion has been had between the drivers a SunsetShift Racing. FlyinHawaiian and Tez_SP17 are quietly confident with the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR’s performance over recent pre-season events. Both the British and Philippines driver have a healthy relationship, and are quoted to have spent a lot of time behind the scenes talking about the car and how they’re proceeding. Tez managed to share a few words in interview earlier this weekend.

Tez, as the driver of the Dodge last season, what do you think of the switch to the newer model Viper?

“This season, the ACR is a definite step up from the Coupé of last season. The improved aerodynamics of the car is felt throughout the corners and under braking. As a result, it has improved on the main flaw of the previous Viper; the tyre wear. The outright pace might not be there from last season, but its better all-round now.”

You seem comfortable with your chances of winning the title.

“Which title? The driver’s title this season means less to me than last season, and I know a lot of the GT drivers are very talented, and seeing the races that have been and gone it’ll be very close. I was more concerned about the Driver’s title last season because of the problems with the sister Viper that Harrison drove, since I really wanted the car to make an impact somewhere. This season, Dodge drafted in Flyin, and now I can focus on finishing strongly for the team.”

Are you looking forward to Daytona?

“Yes and no. Yes, because of the success here for both myself and the car in pre-season. However, since then the other cars and drivers have gotten used to their cars and are much more prepared for Daytona than in pre-season, I'm aware that they'll be much faster and more consistent. My consistency seems to have improved a lot since my flukey win here last season, so it’d be great to see a more convincing win here.

What are your thoughts on FlyinHawaiian, your new teammate?

“Flyin’s a great guy. Off the track he is active to discuss and interact with me and the other guys, while on the track he’s fast, consistent and a level-headed, safe competitor. I’ve competed with him in ALMS last season, and know that he can finish very strongly indeed. I think I’m pretty fortunate.”

Lastly, any drivers in GT you’ll be facing particularly stiff competition from?

“ALL OF THEM! It’s true! Everyone in GT is going to be a challenge. I reckon it’s just a case of whether everyone is capable of bringing their best racing to the table every round. If we see that then anything is possible.”

wow any chance of myself getting involved??? iunderstand it takes place after the ITCC?

Hey Dave! Welcome! As Mel said, Ferrari and Nissan have spots open.

wow thanks, very welcoming, much like the ITCC, well unfortunately i dont have the nissan, but it is on my MUST GET list, lol, so i guess i will have to settle for the pizza delivery car lol, but is there any chance of being able to run the F430 instead of the 458, to be more like a last minute under funded team lol,

After looking through the last few pages... Jakobnasar said he'll take a Ferrari and be the team boss. Sooooooo that makes the Ferrari "taken" I'll put ya down for a reserve, I don't know if he'll show up.

Sauber Coyote DP

Round 1: Daytona RC

Raceday has dawned upon us all. The start of a new season. The second serving of Rolex SCS will officially begin this afternoon. Sauber Coyote is launching a blitzkrieg attack this week. Drivers cnd01 and shinshiki were testing extensively this week according to team sources. We caught up with Connor Dayton (cnd01)

"What do you think of the new car?"

"Last year, I signed a two race deal with Peugeot to finish the season out. While that car had its strengths, it does not even remotely come close to the work of art that Coyote designed for us this year. The new car for this year is slower due to new spec regulations, but it is also lighter than last year's Peugeot. This car has been through hours and hours of wind tunnel testing done by Coyote. As for the powerplant, I could not ask for better. The Sauber tuned Mercedes Benz V8 is everything and more than I wanted. Stop-Tech designed special carbon brakes for the car. The Continental GT tire that all cars in the series are required to run has great grip along with good tire life. Overall, I am thrilled to drive the new car"

"How has the new team responded to the new car?"

"SCDP has been working their keisters off prepping this car week in and week out. Shin and I have been providing plenty of feedback to team engineers. The team has done more than enough to give Shin and I competitive cars each week."

"How has shinshiki been as a teammate?"

"Shin is a quality individual. He knows his way around the car. I am honored to be his teammate. This is the first time we have been on the same team. We have benefited from each other."

"Do you think the Championship is a possibility?"

"Certainly. It will be a long, winding road though. The competition level is so high. Ant is always really fast. The Minolta Toyota boys have shown great speed also. The team championship is our main priority. We are also putting extra emphasis on the NAEC this year."

"Are you guys going to run the whole calendar?"

"Yes we are. We have signed a few major sponsors like AEG, Michelin, and Castrol. They have been very supportive of the program, and this team wouldn't be where they are now if those companies hadn't backed us."

"What will be the key factors to win today's race?"

"Certainly keeping your nose clean is essential. Tire strategy, GT traffic, and catching a caution at the right time will be needed to win the race. Anything can happen in a race this long."

"Will weather play a factor in today's race?"

"Thankfully weather will not be a factor today. The track will be hot and slick, though. That's okay, I personally love Daytona RC. I consider it my home track."

As you can see, Connor Dayton is very excited about today's race. Who wouldn't?

Stevenson Motorsports press realease:

Stevenson Motorsports will have paulmac2k9 from the CTSCC driving there second camaro entry for the 2 hours of daytona.
Team manager was quoted saying "We here at Stevenson Motorsports are very excited to have paulmac2k9 running are second entry for the first race of the season. We hope to maybe see more of him through out the season."
Paulmac2k9 was quoted saying "I got a call late in the day by james asking if I could race his 2nd Stevenson Motorsports Camaro for the Daytona road round. I gladly took him up on his offer. This will be a new experince for me and I'm really excited and am looking forward to it alot and hope I can deliever a good result for the team."
Stevenson Motorsports team manager was again quoted saying "We are also really excited to have him racing for us. We hope to get good results from both of are drivers."
Well there you have it folks both are really looking forward to tonight and hope to get a great result.

Nascar people rarely show up. Dave, build up a Ferrari and come today, it's likely that SOMEONE won't be there.

cnd, does that mean I can use your first name in my ITCC write-ups?

I'll try to be on by then. I'm asking you guys to wait for me for 10 minutes after 7:30. If I don't show up, sorry.
