The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 3! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

I think it might be a good idea for you to start practicing at the tighter, corner-heavy tracks, R0ss. Set a seperate tune sheet and focus on Nurburgring, Grand Valley, Laguna Seca, and SSR5.

Audi won Fuji last year, so I think it should be good there. The Audi was especially fast in the last sector.

Thats why I did so bad there last season. I am horrible in that part of the track, but about even with everyone else over the rest of the lap.

I always tune on Suzuka. Good track for overall balance. But you would need to tweak the suspension a bit for the tracks with big elevation changes and bumps like Laguna Seca.

Found someone who can word it better than I can on why I tune at Suzuka.

I tune always ONLINE on suzuka first.95% of my cars. There i can set the overall balance of the cars.
-First high speed right turn under strong braking to set springs and compression.
-S curves medium speed turns for ARB
-Dunlop left turn out is perfect to tune the perfect LSD accel and TOE.
-Hairpin braking zone for brake balance and ext dampers
-Spoon curve where all yours settings will speak by themself. A well balanced car can make a 1 to 1-1/2 second difference there.

After this the car is 90% OK , i do some fine tuning on deep forest , trial mountain ,some other few tracks depending of the car, and i always finish on the nordschleife. Just for the pleasure, online with some other players to push the car and the driver to the limits and beyond :):scared::scared::) , that's the best part.

I hope i can do this again soon.

I have trouble there from time to time as well. It's all about hitting the exact racing line and speed through the corners.

I tend to create a new sheet for each track, then wipe it once i've raced there. So I'll be focusing mainly on fuji this week and maybe testing at some other tracks. Instead of getting a general tune i prefer getting a tune for each track sorted.

My tune gradually changes over the course of a season, but the core is imbedded into the car throughout. The only huge changes for me come after the first race at Daytona. The rest are generally changes relative to degradation of tyres and rebalancing the car to match it.

That's actually useful, not only for tuning, but also to figure out what sections of the car are actually the problem in similar relative areas on a different track.

I used to always depend on him for my tunes. It used to be if he had a tune for the car thats the car I chose to race with for the season. Now I tune on my own. You can only go so far on someone elses tune.

This.

I am always slower with someone else's tune than I am with my own.

I'm kind of hesitant to give tuning tips to others. I tried to give GHS my tune for my Viper and he didnt like it at all. :(

Im always willing to help though. But I would need to see your setup and then figure out what the car is doing for you vs what you want it to do.

The thing FH posted should be a nice start for you, Yellow. It's only a few posts up. 👍

I was playing around with the idea of a Suzuki GSX-R/4 as a bit of a laugh, and around Daytona it was about 5 seconds ahead of the current GT using Racing Softs, and it lasts a lifetime on them. It could be faster, I only had the car at 275 bhp & 600 kg. Not really a DP car as such, but man, it'd be funny to see it.

Oh by the way guys, does anyone have a few overtaking moments in the race on Saturday?

I cant quite pin point the issues I had with the Audi, all I know is that I was giving it my all and I just couldn't keep up with the lead pack no matter how hard I pushed. Maybe it's just me... I dunno. On the other hand It was an absolute dream to drive at cape ring inside (shame it was pre-season) So I'm just hoping once we get to the tighter tracks I can get some decent results.

I used that Audi in the pre-season on Daytona RC. It's one of my favorites. I chose the Chevy as most people shy away from it. I usually choose underdog cars, and make them work for me. If only my crew chief could get more jam out of that engine!

I tend to like to use my own tunes, you see me fine-tuning every race since I don't have the time to tune over the week anymore, but with the Ferrari I've tuned it (at Suzuka :D) to my liking and I in no way want to change it. I had better straightline speed than you in that race, and I had good stability in the corners. The only time I spun was when I tried to go aggressive in the turns. I should stop trying to be aggressive at the wrong moments in the race

With the Viper, I like to get a good launch and have some stability, your tune didn't fit me, and I'm sure mine wouldn't fit your driving style. Even though we're almost the same in terms of driving style.

I think a lap after the restart, I overtook sail and FH on the banking in the middle with harder tires.

What kind of downforce was everyone running at Daytona? I was running full front and rear. I havent tested anything with aero since the new update though.

My best overtake was done on pit road. I did split the middle of Bigtex and Polar when they made contact in the bus stop.

Urgh, slightly off topic but after this 2.09 patch It would appear that the online physics have been changed to offline physics. Time to re-tune all of my cars!

(sigh) I guess I dont mind the changes. Hopefully they really are the same online vs offline. I wish they would stop changing it all the time though. But its for the better I guess.

LOL, this doesn't affect me! :)

To those who said about their overtakes, mind telling me what lap so I could have a look?

0 on the front, 10 on the back.

I think the one GHS is talking about is either right after we went green after the caution. If not then a couple laps after.

If you want a bit of a comedy moment I got spun out just before the pit entrance and somehow ended up driving down the pit lane... ;)

Just look at the pit stop for my best overtake :D

I'm not exactly sure what lap I split Bigtex and Polar in the bus stop.
